thanks for sharing the video. Were the views that you were exposed to on the ride, worth a five hour car ride to get to the Catskills and the $93 cost (in your opinion)?
You’re welcome. For the most part, the views are the same as from the road, as the tracks parallel route 28. It was a nice ride but we enjoyed the Rhode Island and the Adirondacks (no longer offered) trips better.
@@hikeyakfishct3014 great, thanks for your honesty. Not being from the area, we aren't familiar with the route along the road. Will check out the Adirondacks route.
Bring the train back, fix the track and re connect the line..
I'd totally do this!
Bring back the Catskill Mountain Railroad
Yes. This is insanely sad to watch as a railway worker.
Would like to get it back. We started in 1983. Fixed the washouts caused by huricane Irene. Took 9 months. Then they kicked us off.🤐
The engineers don't wave from trains anymore, not like they did back in 1954!

Great video! What was the cost per person?
It’s $44 a person I think!
5 times more than the train charged. You didn't have to oedal it.

About how long is the overall ride?
I believe it was about 2 - 2.5 hours, including the half hour break and rail bike turnaround.
@@hikeyakfishct3014 what if you have to potty?
What time of year was this?
October. As the summer season goes on, they tend to add additional weekend dates into the fall months.
The train was much better.. Didn't have to pedal it.
Lol, well it ain’t coming... lucky they didn’t rip the rails out and turn it into a bike trail..
@@TEMPLE7DThe rails should stay there. The Idiot who was responsible for the trail is no longer in office.
This makes for a much better adventure.
