what makes deepwoken so special is that it isn't based of off some massive Ip like cursed gear which is based on jjk or type soul which is based of bleach deepwoken having its own world characters and story is what makes it stand out and what gave it that charm that I loved. and I'm sad to say that even that charm is beginning to die

cursed gear will not be the succesor of deepwoken, an anime game can't replicate the soul, mechanics, and the huge amout of quality content in the game. deepwoken is objectively one of the best maybe the best game on roblox. Also, even if you miss verse one combat, in a few years you will miss the current state of deepwoken combat.
i mean bro. deepwoken came out then suddenly everybodys doing parry combat. thats the impact that deepwoken had and all of them failed cuz it didnt hit the same

I'd say the biggest reason why deepwoken feels so good is that the parries actually feel responsive, and by that I dont mean being able to react to attack but actually consistency, on other games I often have the issue that sometimes parrying an attack works and other times the same attack is impossible to parry, other games feel unresponsive in a way that makes me alt f4 after the first enemy, one such example is type soul, it just feels so bad to parry in that game, either theres too little parry frames or theres too much desync

It's a restoration of 2006 to 2016 roblox. However my own staff backstabbed me and I lost everything. Luckily I'm making a new entirely original project called DISSENTER'S DESCENT. I'm planning on it being a horror roguelite heavily inspired by minus elevation. But I'm going to spin the formula so much that it should feel fresh and extremely engaging. The actual fear factor isnt my main priority as let's be honest it's hard to make shit scary on roblox so I dont wanna stress myself too much about it. If it ends up really scary that's cool though! Anyways, thats enough of my idiotic rant. I'm not a fan of the current state of roblox too honestly.

Ive always said deepwoken is a fighting game, I feel as if deep has lost the plot when it comes to those mechanics. in my own game I keep the fighting game elements and think about all of the frame data and movement and such.
it definitely turned into more of an arena fighter (think storm shippuden) throughout its lifespan. if it just didnt turn into a runner mage meta then i think deep is in a good state
Actually some of the problem isn't really the testers from what I've heard, and it's more the fact that the devs either completely ignore them or make an entire update on the same day it's about to come out (as seen with Diluvian Mechanism and Saramaed Hollow). For example, testers pointed out how awful of an idea Shade Wisp was and told the devs that they should not add this, and yet they did.
You mentioned that whiffing m1’s has endlag. And yes that’s true with something like uppercuts, flourishes and running attacks, the other types of attacks are pretty much unpunishable, at least as far as I know. During a parry trade, the opponent could simply hold S during their swing. Their swing is parried by you, but because they’ve held s for long enough, they literally just walk out the of range of your weapon and there is pretty much nothing you can do about it apart from purposefully walking into their m1 to go for a parry to stun them again. But that’s the main issue, air swinging is such low risk high reward because its extremely difficult figuring out if the m1 will connect or not on top of having to react to them jumping around you like a monkey and being rewarded for spamming low wind-up mantras because a missed m1 that is hard to decide whether its going to hit you or not leads you to missing your parry, which leads you to being forced to play defensive since parry goes on cooldown for around 2 seconds. I just think in any PvP game this is just so stupid. It could just be my skill issue tho and sorry for my yap lol
Though the points may be valid, I think Deepwoken could definitely be replaced, because the Devs and what they do these days is pretty goddamn questionable.

like they made rogue lineage b4 deepwoken and rogue felt good to play at the time and was very fun and unique but u cant play any rogue copies cuz it just doesnt feel the same its js the same issue 3 yrs later
i think we just havent seen parry combat introduce some new mechanics. i agree to an extent because you pretty much only press F and Q, but this combat is definitely better and more thought out than say GPO or maybe even ABA
Deepwoken easily has the most depth combat on roblox, (About 15-18 you can have more depending on your build.) and parry no stun based combat is the most balanced combat bc you can't get 1 2 3 4 5 100-0 aba/gpo/battlegrounds comboed.(Also no stun looks way smoother.)
