Absolutely brilliant finds folks, that fantastic hand cannon must be one of the earliest known examples. Glen you’re going to give me a heart attack whacking stuff with that axe 😂 mind you I bet you nearly had one yourself when Rusty saw it was a grenade 😮. ❤
What a wonderful treat. Extra long video was filled with amazing finds by all. Thank you, Marie. Your historical finds explanations for each interesting item are always enlightening and informative! Well done, Mike, on the short sword and Glen with your mini cannon ❤ drone footage was lovely. xx
Another awesome day of finds. The little tube with the hinge top that Mike found d looks very similar to a tin my dad had from his army days. There was a hinge top on both ends. One end was for tea and the other for sugar. ❤
Such amazing finds. Michelle's short sword was just fantastic. I laughed at Rusty laying as the drone took off and landed. The hand cannon is just amazing. You all make history hunting so much fun. Love you all from the frozen PNW
Good work lads😊 please take a cutter with you, its very useful to scrap of the first crust on swords and other itums...... It helps the cleaning afterwards.jim .
Really lovely vlog. It's great how you all manage to make me laugh and my mental health issues calm down. Thank you for sharing and just being really nice people. 👍
Just after the "check your crud" on the video Glen pulled out something he didn't recognise but I do. It's a weight used on a circular sock knitting machine. It dates back to the late 1800 or early 1900s. As the sock is knitted it needs a clamp with weights hung on to pull the sock down.
Hi robyn x If you go to the very end of the video called the finds section you'll see where we have researched our items and found it was a hosiery weight x
Hi robyn x If you go to the very end of the video called the finds section you'll see where we have researched our items and found it was a hosiery weight x
I did watch it all and had my heart in mouth when you found that grenade after hitting the box. I have such a sock knitting machine as you showed on the video. The weights aren't easy to find these days so will be sought after by some enthusiastic person. If you'd like to know and see more, there's a "cranking session" in March at a Leicestershire hotel, where people get together and buy/sell items for these machines. My daughter who lives near you in Eastern Ave can supply you with details if you're interested.
I loved the music on this video!! It was beautiful and visually was really beautiful! It made me want to go there! Love all the spectacular sites by the waters and bridges!! Just love watching you guys! You are all so excited about what you are doing and it makes us like that too! Thanks for such awesome entertainment!! 🎉❤🎉
Glen , That's not a bent chisel , They call it the edging chisel , See how the hammer only hit one side of the head , Used for edging old stone & brick wall buildings , Looks like it needs sharpening , That could be a keeper
Greetings from NZ, I'm so jealous of you guys and what you find, our country has no history like the UK, I've waisted hundreds of litres of fuel trying all sorts of streams and rivers but got buggar all lol by heck the peaky girls will never drown with their floatation devices lol keep up the good work guys I'll keep watching and dream of better places to magnet fish 👍
I recognized the knitting machine weight when I saw it, nice job identifying that one! I have a 100ish year old sock knitting machine that I restored :)
@@PeakyDippers I love learning about the history. In the US sock knitting machines were given by the Red Cross to households during WW1 so that citizens could help with the war effort by making wool socks for soldiers to prevent trench foot. Not sure if the UK had any similar programs.
the 'bone' is from a cow or ''bovine'' one that has died and lost to the river ,,imost slaughter houses cut the animals in half but that bone is intact its from the sirloin ''t-bone steaks''

I can date the old can of double diamond quite precisely, as I was buying them from the offie as a 16 year old in 1970. Also, if you notice, both the new decimal and imperial sizes/quantities is printed on the can, the first real sign of shrinkflation, as there is no longer a pint can, but the smaller metric version, easier to reduce in size..
Hi guys I want to watch your restoration channel but I can’t find it I’ve seen all the ones I can find but no new ones can you help me out to find the right one ❤❤❤
You say that you can't get the back off the clock mechanism Glenn, many of these timepieces would have a screw thread fitting, try to get it to unscrew if possible, almost always anti clockwise 👌
@@PeakyDippers any time I can, been in printing and engineering most of my life, and took up playing with old pocket watches a few years ago, also refurbishing copper tankards etc.
The proper name for the tool you showed that you said were used for removing the nails from horses shoes and cleaning out the foot is PLIERS. Also widely used by carpenters, I'm positive as my grandad was a carpenter, who's career ended when he fell off the scaffolding and broke his hip and was unable to continue, so he became...guess what?... a cobbler, he lived in a little village just outside Preston called Penwortham, I'm talking 1930, and I remember in the late 50s playing on his handmade toolchest in the back yard, and he had about 3 or4 of them. He also had a 4 footed shoe last, I'm 69, and it's in my dining room 😂
