So I'm glad I found your video. I have the same filter running an outdoor tub with rice fish in it. I had the exact same frustration with the overflow pipe. So I went to home Depot got some american fittings to fix it. But then after doing that I couldn't separate the top from the middle. So after seeing what you did and using the larger fitting on the bottom I just changed mine and now I can lift my top part off anytime. Dam why didn't I think of that. Big thank you! And I just subbed to your channel
@@razinfishes1918 Awesome!! We’re glad we could help. This has become one of our favorite filters. Since we made this, I do the top a little differently. I still use the black sponge, but on top of that we use the polyfill that comes in a thin sheet for quilt making and cut it into pieces about the size of the lid. You can make a ton of them for around 7 bucks or so. Buy it online or find it at Walmart. Every time it overflows, just swap it out. Easy peasy! Thanks for the sub. We really appreciate it. Hope you stop by our weekly livestreams on Mondays. Have a great day!
@@ItsMeeLeeDee So this is my experience with it. I want a slow flow because of the type of fish. So there are ball valves on the intake tube and a valve on each water inlet tubes. So I had to adjust the valves to control how much intake water i have coming in. With that said if I had the all wide open with the power head I'm using I had no issues.it flowed perfectly
Just watched the video on the Temu filter.. I might have to buy one when I am done with filling my house with tanks. I have the shakes "Parkinson's" for me.. but I take it like a champ life is short
Thank you. This is a really nice filter. And a great value. But very lacking in instructions on assembly. So we thought, why not put something out that may help someone else. We saw it first on Joey Mullen's channel and it looked like such a cool concept. Very similar to the DIY tower I made based on his design. Him and I both agree, for the money you would spend buying all the parts, and time spent on building it, this filter is a no brainer. We want to get the large sized one and try it on our outdoor stock tank pond this year.
I just set up the larger filter I bought on Temu. They do have a instructional video. I'm planning on using it on my outside pond for extra filtration.
Make a cilinder from a filter mat. Put an air stone at the bottom or a waterpump at the top. Done! The pump doesn't have to run 24/7 because the filtermaterial is constant in the water exposed to oxygen.
There’s multiple sellers all selling the same thing. They take forever to get here. Mine is still sitting in a port in china and I ordered it(on accident) almost 2 weeks ago.
@@hagenhilldesign Point them downwards. You want to encourage the water to shower from tray 2 into tray 3, then through the biomedia, to the bottom of the tray, then up into the elbows before exiting. Currently, water showers in, then takes the path of least resistance bypassing a lot of the media. This runs the risk of the water not "filtering" properly/efficiently, and some stagnant spots where the water doesnt circulate.

@@hagenhilldesign what size pump are you guys using now?
@@bjrnandreryrvik2869 it’s a marineland power head and I don’t remember the size. But it could handle a larger one for sure.
Does I leak ? There seem to be no bolts sitting the boxes together, not fastened together, in other words. They just sit above on another . ?

Thank you... This means a lot.
Hey, hagans! Love the breakdown and the detailed look into the filter ! Keep it coming!

That's pretty cool!
Yeah, it works great. And this is the smaller one. We might get a bigger one for our big pond.

That's cool. We're planning on doing the same thing for one of our outdoor ponds too. This little one has been working great.
Nice video guys well explained 🤜
🤛 Thank you
Awesome
Great video guys ! I just subbed
Thank you!
Nice vid 🙌
Thank you. We're happy you liked it.
How big of a power head do you thing you can push through the box
I use a Marineland, but don’t remember the size. This box can handle a lot more though.
I subbed.
Thank you so much!
There is a video on Temu where you look at the pics of the product.
Thanks
What did you search for. Tried looking canister filter up but all rhat shows are sponge filters or corner intank filters
I can't seem to find them anymore... :( they may be sold out. This happened once before. Hopefully they come back in stock. It's a really good filter.
How many gallons pond rated for this filter?
Good question. I don't have an answer.
Can I ask how tall is box?
About 13.5 inches

Thanks for the advice
Can you elaborate please
Found the filter on temu but says it's discontinued 😢
I saw that too. I'm disappointed because I wanted to get some more after trying this one.

The only modification I'd make is to put 90⁰ elbows on the inside of the bottom tray so the water doesn't pool/stagnate below the return holes.
Which direction would you point the elbows?

I could use a screwdriver right about now !...but I'd prefer a salty dog !
What are the ingredients?
@@hagenhilldesign vodka, grapefruit juice
