  • New Year. New Hair. New Goals.
    We're stepping into 2020 with a new focus on healthy hair care classes, a 6 week regimen course and memberships.
    Today, I'm bringing you the very first video for 2020 on how I personally mix my henna for hair recipe. I like to keep it simple and focused on what I want to achieve. This recipe will get me the color I need and coverage for my greys.
    By adding amla powder I promote hair growth, volume and define all my hair strands. I want softer moisturized hair strands so adding in aloe vera powder is a must.
    This is my recipe:
    - 200 grams of Organic Rajasthani Indian Henna
    - 3-4 tbsp of Organic Amla Powder
    - 2-3 tsp of Organic Aloe Vera Powder
    Mix all the powders really well and then I added warm to hot distilled water.
    I allowed it to sit for a few hours (3-4 hours) for dye release and once it was ready I applied it to my hair and left it in for 3-4 hours.
    Watch the whole video so you can see additional tips at 8:10 on checking for dye release and also at 8:50 for a time saving tip.
    What you'll need:
    Henna: hennasooq.com/color/red-tones/ (scroll down to choose the henna powder of your preference)
    Amla Powder: hennasooq.com/organic-amla-po...
    Aloe Vera Powder: hennasooq.com/organic-aloe-ve...

    • @seerchannah102

      @@sunflower6107 I mix herbs with warm water, and aloe Vera powder and mix until I get a runny paste. Add the mix to my wash bottle. I use the mix to shampoo my hair. Rinse that out. I use a cowash after to make sure I get all the clay out. I know when all the clay is out when my cowash doesn’t foam like a shampoo.

    My hair loves Red Raj. I love the way it changes the color of my greys to red. I actually like mine to be a little thick because I sleep in it and it doesn’t run.

    • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  4 роки тому +7

      Yes me as well! One of my faves. That makes so much sense. The thicker it is at least it won't run down the back of your neck or sides. Even people who are a little more on the warm side, it can run on them slightly.

    Hi! Great video! I just looked at it and have a question. With the mix you have is that to dye your hair brown? Or is your hair black and you are just covering greys? I have some sprinkled grey in my hair and wondering if it would work for me. My hair is dark brown (looks black). Thanks!

    You inspired me to switch to organic products 😊 I am new to this and have used chemical dyes for 10-12 years. This made 80% of my hair gray and I am only 40 years old and loose my hair in chunks with each chemical color application..
    I have resistant hair so tried the 2 step process at the gap of a week but still did not get soft black tone. Pls suggest if applying henna/ indigo at a gap of one week is advisable until I achieve the desired tone ?

    Hello,
    Which of your henna powders would you suggest for getting gray coverage on hair that is dark brown and the rest 25% gray? I'd like my grays to have a highlighted light brown look compared to my dark brown hair. I'd also like as little red as I can get (I know it can't fully be avoided, but as little red as is possible with henna). I'm excited to make a purchase from you guys! Thank you!

    As for metal bowl/utensils I always use them too as won't be dyed by the henna. Never had any issue & people comment on my hair thinking it s conventional hair dye then ask what do I do as it rarely fades & seems to have slight highlights where my hair s lighter . Always tell everyone to use henna ,of course it doesn't lighten hair & colour s quite permanent.

      @@HennaSooq hey I'm wondering if you can answer a question for me ?
      My hair started turning white when I was only 19 so needless to say I was coloring my hair forever and then one day I used Indigo on it . And I left it in long , maybe an hour .
      My hair became dark rich purple , not a real bright purple but it was a beautiful shade of dark purple that looked great on me because growing up my natural color was light black... I was getting compliments from people even older women but it was attracting too much attention .
      I honestly can't remember if I had any other hair color on with it . Have you ever heard of any one's hair coming out Deep Purple when they used indigo powder ?

    Happy New year!!! What's the combination of red raj and amla for a brown reddish tent on grays. On my regular henna its 1 to 2 ratio of henna and indigo. Do I need indigo to get the same color or can amla get the job done?

    • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  4 роки тому

      Happy New Year!! Amla doesn't really make it brown. It tones it down slightly but you'll need indigo to achieve a reddish brown which is typically created with 3 parts henna to 1 part indigo. You can add a small amount of amla to the henna to tone it down a little bit.

    • @bdm72257
      @bdm72257 4 роки тому

      @@HennaSooq I went ahead and did mine before you commented. So Sorry! But, i did 3 tablespoons of red raj, 2 tablespoons of alma, and 1 tablespoons of aloe vera powder. I did 2 tablespoons of indigo, which I didn't put in the henna mixture until after the dye had released. I let it set in my hair for 3 hours. The color of my darkest hair came out dark brown and my grey came or reddish, not orange, but red highlights which I'm okay with. I just didnt want orange greys. Once it settles in a few days I'll really get a better look. Also, my hair has never ever been this soft and manageable after henna treatment! I love how my hair feels! But, I did do a co-wash with your co-wash and it washed all the softness away and I got scared. So I just put some conditioner in it and it came back soft. Should I co-wash the henna out or not? I felt like I undid all my hard work, until I put the conditioner in. Then my hair felt soft again, but not as soft. Help!!! Lol! Loved the combination so much though!!!! Also I loved the shampoo bar!!! And I meant to tell you that I think you gave me an extra co-wash. If it was a gift, thank you!

In my Henna. I am also going to use my seamoss mix with the liquid. My hair is very absorbent n i use all those to help with the moisture and detangling. Rather than use coffee that some have used. I am going to use grapfruit green tea to help boost the color adhesion; all these will help with the stubborn grey, moisturizing n overall health if hair. I will also add the Indigo to the henna amd again for the 2 step process for optimal black color n grey coverage. I will the henna on for 6 hours then let the Indigo sit overnight (or minimum of another 6-8 hrs).

My grey hair are so stubborn especially the side burns that they don't colour with henna alone and if they do they appear very brassy and yellow.. although I use Rajasthani Henna. So what is the best way to use indigo with henna to get the desired dark brown colour?

    • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  4 роки тому

      Happy New Year! So great to her from you. Oh the sides and the edges are the worse. First we have to fix your Rajasthani Indian henna. That tone you get shouldn't be happening at all. What percentage of greys do you have? What is your exact Rajasthani Indian henna recipe? Do you keep it very simple or add other ingredients? The amounts of other ingredients must be kept low in order to get max results from henna. Your henna recipe has to be strong first before using indigo. But once the henna is good then you would use 3 parts indigo to 1 part henna for dark brown.
