I agree with your statement! I’ve been so drawn back with many UA-cam videos of people doing “benchmarks” or they say SSD is “slow”. But this is new M2 chip we have in the MacBook Air so I don’t know people come to a conclusion that this M2 Air is worse while the performance has been increased and with improvements of GPU and CPU. Like this is not even the Intel MacBook Air which I still have but I’m absolutely 😂 but I’m excited to receive my MacBook Air 15 inch with 24GB RAM by the end of the month
@@SuperHawk54Well all they did was compare it to the predecessor & compared to last year we all see what Apple did they crippled the base model ssd on all lineups to get u to upgrade ur storage for the as promised performance typical Apple
@@ralph6164 I get you, honestly I’m just excited to receive my new MacBook Air 15 which will be a great upgrade from my i3 Intel MacBook Air 2020 version and went with max 24GB RAM since I use external HDD

Silver is definitely my favorite color for these hands down. Very clean looking and fingerprint resistant. Just perfect.
When it comes to Apple, I always go silver.
I LOVE it! I’m getting this. It’s set to arrive next week. I went with 16gb/512gb which is pretty wild, the 2013 15.4 inch MBP I’ve used daily for 10 years has the same specs, but an entirely different processor! I’m so excited to experience the silicon chip. I want to make videos again. I’m exited to compare the screen and speakers too. I’m worried the speakers on my old MBP might be better but this MB Air has everything I’ve been waiting for
- MagSafe (honestly this was the dealbreaker for why I didn’t upgrade for so long)
- the keyboard I like
- screen size
- improved webcam
- improved charger that won’t be so heavy!
- device is over a pound lighter than what I’m used to!
- battery lasts longer
- computer won’t be so burn-my-legs hot!!
- amazing processor

And YES, I also ask myself, what’s next? How will this machine look like in 5 years? What about 10 years? What a time do be alive and witness how fast technology has been evolving.
I traded my 13 air m2 for a 15 inch bigger screen means big
Apple offered $745 for my MacBook Air M2 and they offered $0 for my iPhone 14 Pro.
Best Buy offered $900 for my MacBook Air M2 and they offered $625 for my iPhone 14 Pro.
I then went to Best Buy and preordered. So excited for the 15”!

My Macbook Air 2014 still works to this day (but battery life is awful, as expected). My 2018 Air works perfectly fine as well (battery life is okay, but the butterfly keyboard is very sensitive and sticky, which is expected with that keyboard XD ). And my current M2 13 Air works like a dream. It's my dream laptop (got the Midnight, and with a clear case, it's in perfect condition and remines fingerprint free). I expect the M2 to hold up and run smooth for at least 7 years. Hope this helps :)
Love that with the macs, you do an unboxing and a review!! It just shows how seriously you take this and how much you care to give your viewers all the info they need in one video. Love it ❤️

Finally someone showing the real life usage and that say good things about video editing on this model. We all know that is NOT pro. However, seeing your video editing demonstration proves that this model not bad at all!!!! Now I really might buy this model..
I just love opening up Apple products. The experience is beyond anything else in consumer electronics. I have to watch videos like this to get the experience, because I only buy one or two Apple products per year. And one of those is always the iPhone.
If Rosetta 2 stays forever, it will be a perfect companion.
I just order my 15”Air M2 last week and it should be arriving this weekend! I picked 24/256 cuz if I need more storage, I’ll just get the 1T or 2T external. So excited for it now!❤

I picked up one Wednesday at Best Buy, Black Friday special price $1049, I also picked up the 70 W charger. I got the space gray, I love the color. I think the speaker sound amazing

4:12 I HAVE TO HEAVILY DISAGREE!! Storage could always be upgraded But RAM is not. You are stuck with it FOREVER! if u choose 8gb ram you will def regret it along the way because 8gb isnt just enough in 2023. 20tabs or so your ram is full already.
I finally was able to save up enough to get the 15" MacBook Air m2....I had a 5 year old MacBook Pro. Been wanting the apple M chip for awhile. I have been an apple user since the Apple IIe...and when Apple went to intel chips I was super mad....lol, was ecstatic they decided to go with their own chips! I I also got the starlight color it's amazing!! Love your videos. I don't typically make comments but had to finally. Just watched your apple vision pro video...definitely one of the best videos out there!!!

I’m still using my 2013 21.5” iMac occasionally! It still does basic stuff fairly well. I just can’t let myself get rid of it just yet! We updated it with a 500gb SSD back in 2020 and its still going strong! LOL
I skipped this upgrade from my M1 13 inch but then got the M3 15 inch in starlight….I…AM….OBSESSED!The bump up to the 15 inch is AMAZING!Its stunning!

I just got this exact same MacBook and I love your review. I was watching another review but the guy just seemed bored and “meh” about the laptop and it just wasn’t cutting it for me. Justine’s excitement totally matched my own and that’s why I actually watched this till the end.
I have to wait another week before mine arrives ugh
This is a great laptop for the Base model, but if you are upgrading the storage and memory (as you suggest) it makes no sense. Maybe if you just go up to 16Gb memory OR 512Gb storage, but if you do both, for $300 more dollars you can get the base model 14” Pro. Yes the screen is a little smaller but it is a higher resolution, mini led, ProMotion with up to triple the brightness. The weight is the same. It has 6 performance cores vs 4 (50% increase) 16 GPUs instead of 10 (60% increase) 200 GB/s memory bandwidth vs 100 (100%), addl. thunderbolt port, HDMI, SDXC card slot, support for 2 monitors, better speaker system, better mic array. Unless you are getting the base model, the only reason to get the Air is if you really love the Starlight or Midnight color 😉.

It seems to me that this is the machine they were trying to make with with those Touch Bar MacBook Pros, but the tech just wasn't ready yet back in 2016.

On occasion I’ve actually used my iPad as an additional display for easy access to Touch Bar tool controls on Apple Silicon laptops. 🤓

I've already got the M2 Max 16-inch pro, but it's so heavy that I think I'll get this for travelling.
But can it play the sims without sounding like a jet like my MacBook Pro ? (I have the intel 16inch pro)

Personally I like the 15” MacBook Air since it has a bigger screen which automatically means better resolution and the notch won’t be a dealbreaker but also the temperature might have around 2-5 degrees difference which isn’t that much but it’s better than nothing lol.
Currently I’m gonna save and get it :)
It's criminal that these ship with the dual 35W by default (so that'll be what Best Buy, etc. include) when fast charging is only available with the 70W charger. And they're the same price when you custom order it. :/
Is it just me or does the Starlight appear "silver and gold"? IMO, that midnight color is 🔥

I always felt like the MBA was for the casual/average user. And anybody who is a power user or video editor would never think to get a MBA. That person would obviously need the power of the Pro. Just my 2 cents! 🤷🏼♂

I just got the M2 MacBook Air 13.6. I upgraded to 16 gigs of ram, and 512 SSD storage, but kept the 8 core GPU. I really like it, this is my first laptop. I'm used to high end Dell desktop with Windows. My last Dell had Windows 7 Pro, and 2T hard drive, where I built my webpages for my website. I no longer have a website. I used to use Photoshop 5.5, but now. you have to subscribe. What do you recommend, Photoshop or Lightroom. I want to learn how to do videos, and edit them. Do I need a program for that?

I feel the speakers rather low in volume compared to my MBA 13 M1. Especially if I get away from the front of the laptop.

Im always so confused when people say that they're okay with rendering Videos on these Devices. For me personally an export of 20min 1080p60 footage is still to slow and takes nearly 15min on m2 pro, so IDK why that is and if I maybe use wrong settings

That’s true but that’s why a lot of us are upgrading the bigger screen I wanted more hard drive space and more memory so that’s other reasons

Is this worth the upgrade from the 2020 M1 MacBook Air? I am not a laptop fan but I do really love my M1 MacBook Air and a slightly larger screen on the 15” seems awesome. Just a basic user here, but clearly I see this new model can do ALOT!

I bought the 13inch and boom they dropped the 15 inch the same night! lol but I saved a ton on the 13 so feeling good now, prefer the lower screen size

I picked my MacBook Air up as well. This really is perfect. SO many reviewers pull the whole "YOU NEED THE 512GB MODEL It's SO MUCH SLOWER". When they need to realize, unless you're a photo video professional you really DON'T need the 512GB. I got the base model, and it's blazing fast for everything I need and most people need. This reallllly is the best Mac yet imo. Perfect size, super thin, powerful and does whatever I throw at it without breaking a sweat.
Same here man! I actually bought it with the Base storage and 24GB Max Ram which I know it’s probably a bit much but for me personally that extra Ram Space I just love to see and it’s very smooth since Ram has no alternatives while storage does
