I agree with your statement! I’ve been so drawn back with many UA-cam videos of people doing “benchmarks” or they say SSD is “slow”. But this is new M2 chip we have in the MacBook Air so I don’t know people come to a conclusion that this M2 Air is worse while the performance has been increased and with improvements of GPU and CPU. Like this is not even the Intel MacBook Air which I still have but I’m absolutely 😂 but I’m excited to receive my MacBook Air 15 inch with 24GB RAM by the end of the month

Apple offered $745 for my MacBook Air M2 and they offered $0 for my iPhone 14 Pro. Best Buy offered $900 for my MacBook Air M2 and they offered $625 for my iPhone 14 Pro. I then went to Best Buy and preordered. So excited for the 15”!
My Macbook Air 2014 still works to this day (but battery life is awful, as expected). My 2018 Air works perfectly fine as well (battery life is okay, but the butterfly keyboard is very sensitive and sticky, which is expected with that keyboard XD ). And my current M2 13 Air works like a dream. It's my dream laptop (got the Midnight, and with a clear case, it's in perfect condition and remines fingerprint free). I expect the M2 to hold up and run smooth for at least 7 years. Hope this helps :)
I LOVE it! I’m getting this. It’s set to arrive next week. I went with 16gb/512gb which is pretty wild, the 2013 15.4 inch MBP I’ve used daily for 10 years has the same specs, but an entirely different processor! I’m so excited to experience the silicon chip. I want to make videos again. I’m exited to compare the screen and speakers too. I’m worried the speakers on my old MBP might be better but this MB Air has everything I’ve been waiting for - MagSafe (honestly this was the dealbreaker for why I didn’t upgrade for so long) - the keyboard I like - screen size - improved webcam - improved charger that won’t be so heavy! - device is over a pound lighter than what I’m used to! - battery lasts longer - computer won’t be so burn-my-legs hot!! - amazing processor Can’t wait!!!!! 💕💕💕💕
I’m really impressed with the performance and how silent it is with the fan-less design! The only downside is that the price can get high real fast with upgrades to the point you should just get the pro model.
I like to think of this: the 15-inch is just a revamped M1, in a new case and display. In fact i usually think its the same form factor, just the larger screen by reducing bezels.. They did this in the iPad's as well
I’m impressed as well with this design and the biggest W from apple was brings back the MagSafe charging! I understand when you mention the price gets higher for upgrades but I decided to get the M2 Air BUT with MAX RAM 24GB and stay with the base storage since I have an external drive and I use a gaming monitor with 165hz refresh rate so for me the MacBook Pro for $2k especially with 16 inch which is more expensive would be already way too much for me and a lot of money

I'm an "Air" product fan... MacBook and iPad Air. This MBA M2 2023 is for me (personally) the BEST MBA Apple ever build. I have it 4 weeks and so happy with it. Can agree with all your real world tests. I'm work intense with Logic Pro X, Pixelmator Pro and Xcode... there are now issues and glitches. All is running smooth and fast. And battery endurance, great!!!

After watching this video I recently upgraded from the 13 inch MacBook Air to the 15 inch MacBook Air - I have to say the camera on this 15in is waaayyyyy better so they may be the same but I' have to admit there is a huge difference ..luv it

I just got this MacBook and it works amazing, it can run the sims 4 for multiple hours with no delay what so ever , I use it for school and I use it for watching UA-cam videos. its amazing, currently have been on it for the last like three hours and the battery is still at 100% !!
I ordered one because I think it will be perfect for my software engineering work. The processing power is more than enough and the extra screen real estate will help big time with multiple source code files open at once. I opted for 24 GB of RAM and the 1 TB SSD so I'll have plenty of space for virtual machines and containers.

I think you hit the nail on the head. They are diffusing the difference for the consumer of the AIR and Pro. And that can’t be good. The difference between Air and Pro is a fan in the pro for active cooling (Basically). This has put Apple in an awkward position of how to price the AIR. As you point out, it has almost the same power as a Pro. So, it should cost close to a PRO. But Air was meant to a be a lightweight lower cost alternative to the PRO line. I want a bigger screen, but I don’t need a work horse. I just need the OSx system. But the cost of the 15" due to the powerful M2 chip makes it unobtainable. Should they make a 15" with the M1? Or do they need to make a Mx chip that’s for the AIR and lower tier machines?
YAY! I've been waiting for this. I want peoples feedback before I make my final decision. I'm so team Apple. The one thing I don't like is the camera notch and it's right in the middle of the menu bar. My older MacBook doesn't have that. You can see the whole menu bar. I love this unboxing.
I just love opening up Apple products. The experience is beyond anything else in consumer electronics. I have to watch videos like this to get the experience, because I only buy one or two Apple products per year. And one of those is always the iPhone.

Now I’m so torn between this 15” M2 Air and the 14” M2 MBP. I always prefer bigger screen but the 16”MBP is too much imo and i think a 15” is perfect for me. If i spec the 15”M2 air to 16gb unified and 512ssd it’s 1700$ and the same spec for 14” M2 MBP is 2000$ so it’s gotten real hard to choose between these two. My workload is programming and developing apps along with some UA-cam and reading comics. Would've been soooo good if they released a 15" M2/M3 Macbook Pro. I finally was able to save up enough to get the 15" MacBook Air m2....I had a 5 year old MacBook Pro. Been wanting the apple M chip for awhile. I have been an apple user since the Apple IIe...and when Apple went to intel chips I was super mad....lol, was ecstatic they decided to go with their own chips! I I also got the starlight color it's amazing!! Love your videos. I don't typically make comments but had to finally. Just watched your apple vision pro video...definitely one of the best videos out there!!!
I’m torn between this one and the 14 pro. I think it might be a deal break that this one only supports ONE external monitor. Plus the 120hz screen extra ports and more ram on the pro make it really enticing
That is the exact dilemma I’m in as well. My current laptop is still an intel chip so any updated Mac is going to be crazy fast for me, but that one monitor limitation is a killer

4:12 I HAVE TO HEAVILY DISAGREE!! Storage could always be upgraded But RAM is not. You are stuck with it FOREVER! if u choose 8gb ram you will def regret it along the way because 8gb isnt just enough in 2023. 20tabs or so your ram is full already.

This is a great laptop for the Base model, but if you are upgrading the storage and memory (as you suggest) it makes no sense. Maybe if you just go up to 16Gb memory OR 512Gb storage, but if you do both, for $300 more dollars you can get the base model 14” Pro. Yes the screen is a little smaller but it is a higher resolution, mini led, ProMotion with up to triple the brightness. The weight is the same. It has 6 performance cores vs 4 (50% increase) 16 GPUs instead of 10 (60% increase) 200 GB/s memory bandwidth vs 100 (100%), addl. thunderbolt port, HDMI, SDXC card slot, support for 2 monitors, better speaker system, better mic array. Unless you are getting the base model, the only reason to get the Air is if you really love the Starlight or Midnight color 😉.

Im deciding between The 15in Air and 14in Macbook Pro I need something for school but can also be used for editing. I know the Macbook air's can be used for light editing but nothing to long, or complicated in terms of editing. Would I be better off with the Air or the Pro?

I’m still using my 2013 21.5” iMac occasionally! It still does basic stuff fairly well. I just can’t let myself get rid of it just yet! We updated it with a 500gb SSD back in 2020 and its still going strong! LOL
i wish all the newer apple products had a rose gold version cuz i had to get a gold mac and to me it look rose gold but thats probs cuz ive convinced myself its rose gold😂

I will be upgrading to this one in a few months. I am way past due for an upgrade. I’m currently using a 2012 model. I’m so glad I waited because this one is perfect for me.

I have an macbook air from 2020 and its time for an upgrade (sadly) i was looking on the apple site and the Macbook pro 13 inch M2 is what I am leaning towards. I would use it for school work as well as i would need to download microsoft teams and outlook, zoom and chrome. do you think it could handle it? what are your thoughts on it? I know there are the new macbook airs and pros but I am not a fan of them to be honest. let me know your opinion!

I just got the M2 MacBook Air 13.6. I upgraded to 16 gigs of ram, and 512 SSD storage, but kept the 8 core GPU. I really like it, this is my first laptop. I'm used to high end Dell desktop with Windows. My last Dell had Windows 7 Pro, and 2T hard drive, where I built my webpages for my website. I no longer have a website. I used to use Photoshop 5.5, but now. you have to subscribe. What do you recommend, Photoshop or Lightroom. I want to learn how to do videos, and edit them. Do I need a program for that?
Personally I like the 15” MacBook Air since it has a bigger screen which automatically means better resolution and the notch won’t be a dealbreaker but also the temperature might have around 2-5 degrees difference which isn’t that much but it’s better than nothing lol. Currently I’m gonna save and get it :)

You can just use an app to make it all black and you won't even notice it

Now I’m so torn between this 15” M2 Air and the 14” M2 MBP. I always prefer bigger screen but the 16”MBP is too much imo and i think a 15” is perfect for me. If i spec the 15”M2 air to 16gb unified and 512ssd it’s 1700$ and the same spec for 14” M2 MBP is 2000$ so it’s gotten real hard to choose between these two. My workload is programming and developing apps along with some UA-cam and reading comics. Would've been soooo good if they released a 15" M2/M3 Macbook Pro. Please help me select between these two laptops, much appreciated thanks you

It's a university BEAST. Light, portable, with a big screen for having a document and references on screen at once. Trading in my Intel 13" MBP for the 15" Air :D

I think you just sold me on this m2 air! I have the 2018 MacBook Pro and it’s SO SLOW for editing UA-cam videos. I’m sure this will be a major upgrade for me

I finally was able to save up enough to get the 15" MacBook Air m2....I had a 5 year old MacBook Pro. Been wanting the apple M chip for awhile. I have been an apple user since the Apple IIe...and when Apple went to intel chips I was super mad....lol, was ecstatic they decided to go with their own chips! I I also got the starlight color it's amazing!! Love your videos. I don't typically make comments but had to finally. Just watched your apple vision pro video...definitely one of the best videos out there!!!
I’m torn between this one and the 14 pro. I think it might be a deal break that this one only supports ONE external monitor. Plus the 120hz screen extra ports and more ram on the pro make it really enticing
That is the exact dilemma I’m in as well. My current laptop is still an intel chip so any updated Mac is going to be crazy fast for me, but that one monitor limitation is a killer

4:12 I HAVE TO HEAVILY DISAGREE!! Storage could always be upgraded But RAM is not. You are stuck with it FOREVER! if u choose 8gb ram you will def regret it along the way because 8gb isnt just enough in 2023. 20tabs or so your ram is full already.

This is a great laptop for the Base model, but if you are upgrading the storage and memory (as you suggest) it makes no sense. Maybe if you just go up to 16Gb memory OR 512Gb storage, but if you do both, for $300 more dollars you can get the base model 14” Pro. Yes the screen is a little smaller but it is a higher resolution, mini led, ProMotion with up to triple the brightness. The weight is the same. It has 6 performance cores vs 4 (50% increase) 16 GPUs instead of 10 (60% increase) 200 GB/s memory bandwidth vs 100 (100%), addl. thunderbolt port, HDMI, SDXC card slot, support for 2 monitors, better speaker system, better mic array. Unless you are getting the base model, the only reason to get the Air is if you really love the Starlight or Midnight color 😉.

I’m still using my 2013 21.5” iMac occasionally! It still does basic stuff fairly well. I just can’t let myself get rid of it just yet! We updated it with a 500gb SSD back in 2020 and its still going strong! LOL

I will be upgrading to this one in a few months. I am way past due for an upgrade. I’m currently using a 2012 model. I’m so glad I waited because this one is perfect for me.

The MacBook Pro Mid 2009 is 15'. My favorite size.
It seems to me that this is the machine they were trying to make with with those Touch Bar MacBook Pros, but the tech just wasn't ready yet back in 2016.

On occasion I’ve actually used my iPad as an additional display for easy access to Touch Bar tool controls on Apple Silicon laptops. 🤓

Hi Justine! i am looking for expert opinion when shopping for a new mac. I have an macbook air from 2020 and its time for an upgrade (sadly) i was looking on the apple site and the Macbook pro 13 inch M2 is what I am leaning towards. I would use it for school work as well as i would need to download microsoft teams and outlook, zoom and chrome. do you think it could handle it? what are your thoughts on it? I know there are the new macbook airs and pros but I am not a fan of them to be honest. let me know your opinion!

I just got the M2 MacBook Air 13.6. I upgraded to 16 gigs of ram, and 512 SSD storage, but kept the 8 core GPU. I really like it, this is my first laptop. I'm used to high end Dell desktop with Windows. My last Dell had Windows 7 Pro, and 2T hard drive, where I built my webpages for my website. I no longer have a website. I used to use Photoshop 5.5, but now. you have to subscribe. What do you recommend, Photoshop or Lightroom. I want to learn how to do videos, and edit them. Do I need a program for that?

Personally I like the 15” MacBook Air since it has a bigger screen which automatically means better resolution and the notch won’t be a dealbreaker but also the temperature might have around 2-5 degrees difference which isn’t that much but it’s better than nothing lol.
Currently I’m gonna save and get it :)
