- Today I am taking you through a week in my life as an Orthodox Jewish homeschooling mother of four! With my new baby in tow I am heading out of the house for the first time with all the kids, I will be leading my kids in homeschooling all week, and doing plenty of housework and meal prep! So come along as I get it all done in this week in the life (WITL) vlog!
Hello and welcome! My name is Chana, I’m married to my best friend, and we have four wonderful children together. We also happen to be Orthodox Jews and we homeschool our kids. This video is a sneak peek into our daily lives :) You can see how this particular Jewish homeschool mom sets up her days, rolls with the punches, and gets it all done. Thanks for watching!

I love how you generally split up the day: group learning, chores, lunch, individual lessons, free time. It feels like a logical progression through the day but not monotonous. Plus with chores and such in the middle of the day, the kids get a break from sitting down and doing work and feel involved in the running of the home. But it's also super flexible based on who is up when and how everyone is feeling that day. It's a solid routine to give structure to everyone while being understanding of variances because life happens. IYH we have kids and if we end up homeschooling for whatever reason, I'd 100% come back and reference your videos as a resource and inspiration guide.

I love that you let your kids play in the rain, get muddy and even pour their own tea/milk. As a mom of two boys, I struggle with messes and work hard on letting them be little. Your chillness is an inspiration. I love your "that's okay!" approach to life. #goals.

@@jaroffireflies right! Totally me, too. It's hard knowing ultimately its all just more work for us. But I really do try to remember that the momming is never done anyway, so might as well have fun while we're at it.

Your oldest son is quite the little man, isn’t he!!!??? So cool to see him cooking and holding the baby, etc. Like another commenter said, I have to work on letting my kids practice stuff. I dread the messes too! I hold my breath, grit my teeth, or some times I look away or leave the area! I don’t want to snap at them but we moms already have so much to do without more messes!! 😫But they do need to learn! Have a great weekend!! 🥰

My hubby does not get liking rainy days I'm glad to find someone who likes A rainy day too.
I really like how you let your kids sleep as much as they need to for them.
I have an idea about cooking salmon that we really enjoy. I buy a jar of Olive Garden salad dressing from H‑E‑B and pour it over the salmon. That’s it. The dressing tastes absolutely like the real Olive Garden one which we really enjoy. It doesn’t have that musty taste that bottled dressings always have. My internist gave me that idea.

Love how each child has their chores. Not only helpful but also teaches them basic life skills of taking care of themselves and learning responsibilities. I totally admire your laid back attitude towards homeschooling and managing the household. Happy school year to all.

Watching 2nd day I stopped to tell you that your shot included a crochet blanket wrapped around Baby Firefly that brought me to tears. My Mom (who passed in 2017) would crochet blankets like that for all family friends and relatives . It looked like one of hers so much.

My oldest grandchildren are twins who also got upset every time the car stopped. Stereo screaming babies! They’re 17 years old and no longer scream when the car stops. 😊

I love watching you homeschool your kids, and how much you enjoy it as well. I know it feels like a lot of work sometimes, but take it from a homeschool grad, it is so worth it! I am so thankful for my mom teaching me at home. It really deepened the bond that we share, and I feel like I learned so much more than I ever could have outside the home❤️
Chana, I think it is so great that you foster so much independence in your children. I know it's hard to let kids go. You are a super mom, as I have said many times before.

Sounds like baby firefly likes vibrations. I had one like that. He always wanted to be held and the only other thing that would make him happy is his vibrating bouncer. That thing was so helpful. You might look into one. They are not expensive either. Love your videos. 😍

Hi Channa, what nice to slow but sure come back to a new/old routine. Is what usually happens after give birth, your body have to adjust, the family have to adjust, every member have his place some degrees up or aside or down, no matter what it takes time to fell now and normal. Love how your kids help around the house and absolutely love the journal ( I am sawing the pages of one today, I made some little ones with the boxes of all the meds I have to take daily (there is another benefit of the meds😂😂). Anyway, glad to see you all. All my love❤️
