Looks like a licensed title for some long forgotten Nickelodeon cartoon. I thought it was going to be another Sonic mod, but I actually think I'm in love with this idea. Scratchily drawn comic book when?
Brilliant concept. A Wolfenstein 3D-styled Doom mod with cartoony graphics, more interactivity, more strategy, and more immersion. That cat boss especially seems inspired by the Sebastian boss from Rise of the Triad. Additionally, those screens which the villain taunts you also borrows from Dr. Proton's taunts from Duke Nukem 1. I love it when a modern mod for an old game like Doom combines the best aspects of old and new games for a fun experience.
@@enricopaolocoronado2511 I think both. Pumping sound definitely comes from Quake 2, not sure about the gunfire, but it still seems like it. Might be the actual gunfire sound from Q2 slightly "beefed up".
@@ThinBear4 In the credits of the mod they fully acknowledge they took sounds from Quake 1 and 2, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't also use other Quake assets as a base.
I love these kinds of mods for Doom. It doesn't have polish of Golden Souls, but it still has it's own very great thing going for it, so I am currently playing it through and adoring it to the fullest.
Like one has already stated, the self-destruct escape sequence feels straight out of the first two Descent games! Also, I'm at least 98% positive that those shotgun noises are from Quake II, both the firing and pumping sounds. Of course, that doesn't make it a bad mod. These facts actually bring plenty of smiles! Speaking of Descent, I don't know if you do Doom 3 mods, but there's one called "Into Cerberon" that actually mods Doom 3's multiplayer to play exactly like a Descent game, with 6DoF movement, weapons, and everything you'd expect from a Descent-related project. Maybe you could have a go at it with a friend?
I'm a fan of the Descent games, i'd be lying if I said the escape sequence didn't remind me of it a little too. That Doom 3 mod actually sounds very cool, it'd be fun to compare it against the Descent revivals that are currently being made.
This mod reminds me of Harmony, and independent game on Doom engine that got a Cacodemon award. It also can be played on your favorite sourceports, so give it a whirl if you want.
The story reminds me of an old DOS game called Peaches Dream. That game Peaches boyfriend has been captured by the nightmares and has been taken to their castle. The base self-destruct sequence reminds me of the last level of episode 1 of Ultimate Simplicity by Agent Spork. Even though this mod takes a look back it also takes a look forward by including features like transparent breakable glass, dialogue, poly-object doors and other zdoom features. Thanks to you I would probably check this one out.
I was loving this wad for the first two episodes... they were so good I played both them in one sitting... but the third episode is terrible.... there was not enough ammo was the reason.... I still have yet to beat the third episode without cheats... I only used cheats for ammo... but other than that I love this wad
Quite a lot of enemies can be taken out with the pistol in one shot so thats a great way to save ammo, never use the minigun except on bosses or the black clad enemies. Also dont be scared to waste some golden shells, they aint that rare really.
I've had this same problem with Strange Aeons. First two episodes were absolutely amazing and while I loved the design of the third episode (prehistoric Earth? Nice.), there was just not enough ammo. This, combined with another enemy that can revive itself after being killed (skeletons) made the third episode really frustrating and rage quit-inducing.
I really like your mod reviews :) , but i wanted to ask you... are you going to try Kyle873's Doom RPG Mod with DoomRL arsenal and monsters? It is absolutely great! :D
1: I think the download site tried to put malware on my computer, but I did a full scan and I think I'm fine. 2: I'm not gonna say anything, but did you find the secret level of the first episode?
I really doubt that these were made in ms paint, considering that you can't put transparency on images in ms paint. Then again, maybe the transparency was added when the file was put in the mod.
I clearly modded more things in Duke3D then doom ^^ The transparency is not managed by a color like in Duke3D but it was a convention to use cyan for transparency. zdoom.org/wiki/palette

cutenstein :3D
The whole escape sequence after starting the self destruct reminds me of descent
"Icarus Out" **Proceeds to die**
Icarus out - literally :v
I was dead, but I got better.
+ICARUSLIV3S Back from the dead.
Thank the Olympian Gods!
@@ICARUSLIV3S I hope that spiderkitty was found to weigh the same as a duck
I love this mod so much, it's so cute.
The shotgun... it seems familiar...
QUAKE IS THAT YOU!?
It is. Looks like whoever made this mod simply had the image of the Quake 1 shotgun and simply drew over it in MSPaint.
@@enricopaolocoronado2511 ...and it sounds like shotgun from Quake 2.
@@ThinBear4 Which sound? The gunfire sound or the pumping sound?

It's super cute and it puts a smile on my face. Love it.
That is the power............ of good level design and art style.
I know the guy who made this mod personally and he implied that there might be a second episode
Sssssssh! :D
Shadow Of The Wool Ball 2 : Hell on Earth?
Icare Sounds good, but that's not the official title... we could consider making a bonus area named like that though :)
I just like putting that subtitle on every FPS sequel
MSPaintRocks is a cool person, go tell them I said so. :>
i always loved this wad's final boss; seeing a massive, hunchback catman wielding dual super-chainguns just.... works
Woolfenstein :)

Now this mod is incredible!
Love the style of it :D
next time when i hear someone saying to another game "they used mspaint to make this game???" ill send them this mod
cool mod
This, PB, Brutal Wolfenstein, Blade of Agony, Dark7, Pirate Doom, Trailblazer, Demonsteele and Action Doom2 are my favorite Doom mods.
Surprised you never noticed that the weapons are semi-reskinned from Quake.
This mod reminds me of Harmony, and independent game on Doom engine that got a Cacodemon award. It also can be played on your favorite sourceports, so give it a whirl if you want.
I would add something but your analisys already told what I think. I feel inclined to play this even if it's not on my alley, looks that good.
It has got better scripting than half of doom mods

The hedgehogs look like rigby from regular show.
I had such fun with this mod. I wish there was more of it.
This shotgun reminds me of Quake. It looks almost like this one in Quake.
You are really fond of light-hearted mods such as this aint you?. You always seem to get really happy when reviewing them.
One of the best mods iv played in a while
I like this cat.
Wow...I stil try to makes sprites of a hedgehog to put on my mod..but...Well this mod proved it's possible to take this idea
2:12 Something like that was in Bloodshot/Battle Frenzy
They made sequel to this were you play as the girlfriend
Thx for sharing this one. I din't know about this mod yet.
I played it after i saw this video. And it was pretty good.
Funny that this is a Doom mod, because its gives me a Wolfenstein 3D vibe.
Lol I love it, it looks very well made, great video Icarus.
I'll totally play this.
I saw this one the foruns but I never checked it out. But it look really nice!
This feels a lot like an Apogee game.
It reminds me of Bad Toys 3D
Yah, it kind of does. Someone should make that into a TC for Zdoom. I would try to play it with higher res.
i can see some influence from quake judging from the weapons
Pretty sure the boss is an admin: Don't mess with the admins, they have guns and beer! XD
Brutal Wool... anyone?
Ever so slightly
When Rigby has his own iwad.

Love all the Rayman 2 sound effects.
just passed 13,000 congrats! 😝😃😝😃
also weapons look quakie
it'd be good if you could find a doom mod that is star trek based, icaruslives
You should try The Ultimate Torment and Torture

That's too cute
I realy love your videos. So i tought i might recomend you my favorite wad. Its called Doom 2 Tower defense

Hey Icarus, how about winters fury for a review? Still wondering why you haven't covered it yet :)

Use the ketchup gore mod with this.
This was made entirely in ms paint???

If i remember transparency is managed by using a color on Doom (if i'm not wrong a really ugly pink)
You can put transparency in ms paint

The transparency is not managed by a color like in Duke3D but it was a convention to use cyan for transparency.

You can make certain colors transparent with Slade 3 by converting the image to png.
Rigby?
It does the Descent thing.
Intro music?
Wolfenstein for Furries
is there a mod you found yet that isn't better with ketchup
What port of Doom do you use to play these mods? (ZDoom, Skulltag, etc.)
What are the coffee pots for?
Furries..... Furries everywhere
Well not really. It has cats and hedgehogs but it is missing any kind of bunny or squirrel.
True.....
I thought it was dog/wolves usually
Graphics made in MSPaint, audio assets ripped from Rayman 2, Quake 1 and Quake 2 :D
UwUlfenstein
Think there's a reason why the hedgehogs look like Rigby from Regular Show? (yeah, different species, but still).
do psycophobia
Wtf...?
HOW TO INSTALL THIS STUPID MOD? I CAN'T DO THAT!
Shadow Of The Reuben Sandwich, now that would be a good mod.
