How often are we disappointed when former greats return and are a shadow of their former selves. Not disappointed this time.
Nicely said Paul.
@@georgestephenson7158Cheers. It is undeniably a high quality sound. True masters of their craft.
Exatamente! ❤
For @@paulmccready1890
Was thinking exactly that. They still have the sound.
I've had this on a loop breathing it in. The crisp vocals, the masterful application of effects on the guitar, the keyboard/synth, those drums, and THAT BASS. The whole thing is hitting me on a spiritual level. Almost like a piece of my soul I'd forgotten had been on life support through the last few decades of music, and y'all just pulled it back from the brink. I legitimately needed this, thank you.
They truly are professional musicians. Perfect mixing.
The kind of message I would have written if I were as articulated as you. It's like you have found the way to express everything I feel when I listen to this song, but a 1000 times better.
My feelings exactly! Felt this deep within my soul - a masterpiece - thank you Tears For Fears.
Indeed... like an ocean wave. Breathing.
Breathe in to that music... I can make a vinyasa with this beautiful music.
I was a Tears for Fears fan back in the day, but the more I hear them now, the more I think, "Damn, I did NOT appreciate these guys enough back then!" They are just phenomenal!
I can relate!
Too true !!
True that! I loved them, but now I adore and appreciate them. So happy they found each other again.
Indeed
I have been appreciating them since I was a kid glued to MTV watching Pale Shelter. I love all the albums. Finally saw them in 2012 and balled my eyes out. People forget how amazing they as musicians. Checkout the whole set of their 'Going to California' concert. But I got to say 'Elemental' and 'Raoul and the Kings of Spain' are underrated albums. The song 'Goodnight Song' and 'Me and My Big Ideas' with Oleta Adams are true gems.
For a group that's been around 40+years, this is some exceptional new music...the album is killer.
My God... Whoever mixed their live sound here deserves an award! Unbelievable performance & great song.
Truly. Between the performance and the mix it sounds like a studio cut.
I think it’s playback. In many parts Smith stop singing but his voice still sounds. Look at 2:27
Everybody loves a happy ending…as a musician I have always been amazed how you can hear everything separately. Who needs lead guitar solos. Curt Smith bass, like Paul Mc gives us the melody, the drums are perfect, the vocals…everything else is just the sprinkles on a cupcake. Nice but extra goodie.
@@fastica it’s time delay a little this is a studio in the UK
@MARK ESQUIVEL hola, a cuál de los dos guitarristas se refiere?
They really sounded fantastic on both songs.
I didn't like this performance or this song very much
Whether or not you like the song is up to you. But the performance of it here is excellent.
Banda maravilhosa
Brilliant ❤️
@@tomsenft7434 Need a hearing test..😁
I'm still reeling from how good this Tears for Fears comeback is. Form is temporary and class is permanent. Not just this lush single, the whole album is brilliant. Both guys are writing and performing at a level you just don't normally expect of pop artists over the age of 60. Might be my favourite thing they've ever done. It's an absolute stunner of a record.
I couldn't agree more!
Absolutely agree. Brilliant album from start to finish. Straight into my “every home should have one” selection. Always loved them and as you say, class is permanent. Several of the tracks bring me to tears. Right up there with their best work.
just don't normally expect of pop artists over the age of 60. Your an American...correct?
Totally agree.
Far better than the vast majority of new music these days. Welcome back.
I could not agree more - we really need music like this right now.
👍👌 Very well said. ☮️☀️🌻
There is no music these days.
This is a current song.
Spot on!
Ladies and Gentlemen, can we appreciate for a moment that, unlike many other musicians, Curt and Roland are still good friends and making great music? I'm so happy for that. Btw: amazing bass line here.
Very under rated bass player
Brilliant comment.....
A.mo essa banda
Curt’s voice still smooth as silk!! And Roland’s still swaying!! Love these guys!!
Yes, Roland is always swinging and I love it
Curt absolutely delivered it, loved to see it! Carina Round was brilliant, hope she's with the whole tour!
I saw Carina open for them in 2012 and it was just her and a guitar and I was blown away! The standing ovation mist have been more than 3 minutes long.
@@rumblefish9 That would have been amazing! I saw her with them in 2017 and was disappointed they didn't bring in for Woman in Chains or Badman's Song, she could totally pull it off.
@@GlennTillema They played 'Year of the Knife' when I saw them and she sang back up but my god Roland could still belt out the highs and lows of that song really really well! Roland also sang Billie Jean.
@@GlennTillema As someone who is also a TOOL fan. It was great to see her collaborate with Maynard on Puscifer.

One of the best bands ever………
Yes sir!!!
R u a comedian? Thats hilarious,
@@brando7266 I agree with Martin Rosti, TFF ranks high on my list -
I guess being a teenager and young adult when they were at their peak in the 80's and early 90's has something to do with it -
My sister introduced me to TFF, she had The Hurting on cassette :-)
@@GdF420 if they r so good, why aren't they in the hall of fame?
@@brando7266 Nobody knows just like many brilliant actors died not getting an Oscar despite being nominated many times or a Hollywood star. If you hate them just because they are not in the hall of fame, then fine. It is your opinion.
A whole new generation can enjoy what I did when I was in my teens/early twenties. This is fabulous.
Real music by real musicians. Incredible.
Exactly!!!
💖💯
No F---ing autotune here! These guys are still phenomenal!!!
Ladies and gentlemen, this is called raw, unadulterated talent, something that is very difficult to acquire and preserve over time. My congratulations to Tears For Fears!!!!
OMG, they still got it! Classic, chord changes, esoteric lyrics, perfect melody, crisp vocals and layered instrumentation. Roland looks great w/white hair too. (Loved his 'Elemental' album.)
Can’t stop loving Tears for Fears.
Me too
Love the vocal mix . It's ethereal . Fan for 40 years. .. I've been fighting cancer of late, this appearance on Colbert brought tears to an older fan's eyes . Bravissimo TFF🙏💔💞
Sending huge hugs
hope you're doing well
They sound so fresh and vital. Such an awesome surprise that in 2022 we get another album from Tears for Fears.
The late show has really got the sound and overall production on these musical segments down better than any other late night show. This feels almost like a mini audiotree session.
Good sing
Still sowing the seeds of love ❤️
Im crying. How this band always hits in such an emotional way. This is perfection.
True !!
Incredible!! They still sound amazing! I've always loved this band!
Super happy to see them on Colbert. No agism, still got it, looking forward to the concert in june.
It's just amazing to see two eternal guys, Curt and Roland, making music with the same passion as ever.
They sound incredible on both performances and the sound engineering makes it even better
Honestly sounds insane for being live
@@Luper1billion The vocals were so full it made me think lip sync to a pre-recorded live w/some layering of tracks…. But they are fantastic singers and had a third on vocal so…. 🤷♂️. Not that I really care that much bc it sounds so good, but did make me wonder. 🤔🤩
Goddamn phenomenal!
@@Rockingruvin That"s what good engineering and mixing sounds like. I guess you're just not used to it.
@@philadler9171 As a musician, I actually am. The depth of the vocal signal is huge on the new song. Stark contrast to EWtRtW which you can tell is live.
I was just watching Psych season 5 and was surprised to see Curtis there and wrote music for the show. And suddenly, I see this here! 😀
Outstanding boys
Missed ya
The greatest era 80s
80s was the greatest era? 🤣🤣🤣
I totally agree! The 80's was the greatest era for music!:)
This song stopped me in my tracks when I heard it on Colbert. Had to come here to hear it again. What a glorious sound. Thanks and much respect for Tears for Fears.
My sentiments exactly!
Songs from the big chair; one of the best albums of all time. Their music is incredible!
I agree 100% if I had to pick only one album to listen to it would be Songs From The Big Chair
A classic but I gotta say Elemental has a special place in my heart. Also, loved Roland's solo work 'Tomcats Screaming Outside'. Its so different to the TFF stuff.
Man these guys are timeless gems
Tears for fears rock and roll hall of fame now
They are way over due for that honor!
I really liked Roland's little guitar lick at 3:38 that gave me more confidence we were seeing a truly live performance - when a song's performance comes so incredibly close to the recorded version. I liked seeing the drummer's combination of acoustic and electronic hits, and the synth of course fills in the bits you don't see. Such incredible musicians with such a listenable and memorable tune 30 years after their pop peak. Amazing!
When a band can release a song like this and a body of work as chillingly current, you know you are listening to something truly special. TFF are back and boy did we need them!
These guys are without a doubt one of if not the best innovative groups in the world. Iv been into them since they first came out. I'm so happy they are still around and still making great great music. God bless them 🙏 ❤️
The sound production/quality in this is really something. :D
Love these guys!
I am a metalhead!!!
45 years old. \,,/
SLAYER...and the like are the type of music I go for because it's just how I am, and how I grew up.
But?...... When I hear Tears for Fears?, it brings back precious, nostalgic memories.
Miss it... Miss those good old days. And I miss Slayer too!
Cheers Mate...same here .. I'm in the same Age bracket... Slayerrrrrrrrrrrrr is a band that I love a lot and it's same with Tears For Fears... Have a great day..
Dude, I can switch from GnR to George Michael to Death Angel and then to Tears for Fears again before heading on over to some deep Beastie Boy cuts. Great music is great music, regardless of the genre. I've always been a huge T4F fan starting with Songs from the Big Chair. Elemental stood out as their (well...Roland's) best to me though. I felt it was perfect in every sense. This new album is really good IMO, the only downside is that it's about 40 minutes long.
So do I. I"m glad and feel the same way as you do. I'm a drummer, and grown up on Slayer, meanwhile one of my favourite band is TFF
No artist can do these kinf of music at that age. Even the rolling stones cannot make music like yours. They just make noise music. Your music guys are soooo pristine. Music you makes are so pleasant and joyfull to listen to.Also thanks to the recording engineers that you work with for msking your music sound great.😊
Completely agree with you!
STRAIGHT UP!!!💯💯💯
I know another man that makes music and sing like his youth.. Robert Smith
Very much like the old Tears for Fears sound.
Disappointed they weren't in studio, but very happy to see them! They sound great! Curt Smith's voice is always so beautiful.
Chills. They're still incredibly good
💯💯💯💯💯👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥
That's my friend Jamie Wollam behind the drums. No matter how good you sound, you'll sound even better with Jamie playing behind you.
Wow. All around great. Sound writing is #1. Pure talent.
I hope young aspiring artists are taking notes, this is how it's done kids.
Wow. I'm shocked. Shocked and very pleased.
Both songs were great and totally relevant to this world.
Stephen Colbert having Tears for Fears in Late Show it's prove that you are above any other TV personality!
TFF is one of my all time fav bands. So beautifully original and sonically, lyrically unique; an outlier to everything musically before and a lots since. I'm the same age as Rolland and Curt (60) and when they sang Shout, Mad World, Woman in Chains, etc., expressing what they felt about the life, the world, in their 20s, I felt too in my 20s. Always wanted to see them, so happy they're back together and just bought tix to their Boston show in July. Can't wait.
I discovered their music during my last three years of high-school and wish I discovered them sooner than that. I became a big fan and own one of their albums. These boys are my fave❤️
So thrilled to see these guys making music again. New album is absolutely fantastic
What a great song. Subtle nods to their 80’s past but fully realized in the Now.
When this song was dropped from the new album I knew we were in for an immediate classic. I couldn't love their latest any more than I do!
Included with bonus track.
It’s so nice to have them back making beautifully genius music! ✨
AAHHHH!! Tears For Fears still ROCKS!💖
Wow, that is so good!!! A new album to listen too!!! They get old but their voices is still the same!!! That is comforting!!!
Wow! I am so happy they wrote more music!
These guys are still so good. Too many good times back n the day.
My favorite song on the new album.
Me too!
Mine too.
Can’t stop listening to this song...
Stunning! Love these guys from way back. Top form right here, right now. Pay attention kids... this is how it's done. Songwriting chops first and foremost.
Better than ever!!!! Thank you guys for so many good old memories and new ones to come!!!
Now this is THE BAND! There’s nothing else like their songs although true blue 80s. They still look really polished as well. LONG LIVE TEARS FOR FEARS!!
They should have performed a special version of their best-known song: One Particular Guy Wants to Rule the World.
The Usa/Eu and Nato??
My band from the 80s, I will drink tonight listen their music again, and remember better times. 😍🍻
Perfect performance of a great track from a stellar album. The Tipping Point went straight into my “every home needs one” collection… it’s THAT good. Always thoughtful musically and lyrically and so effin talented. My 11 year old son loves the album and has no idea I’m taking him to see them in San Diego :)
This album deserves Grammys.
OMG! They sound fantastic. Wow!!! I have always liked them.
Anyone else grinning like an idiot watching them?
It’s PREPOSTEROUS how good this is. Maybe they needed to drop off for that long to make this amazing of a comeback. MAN and to be in their 60s! And to do this damn good of a job at it too. JUST WOW. Hope they come to salt lake city on their tour
So great to have this phenomenal Guys back with more great music! Absolute stunning Album! Bravo
Saw them in Toronto in 1984. Have loved them for longer. This new album is just what I wanted. Thanks Roland and Curt!
What a stunningly beautiful song! Anyone that grew up with them in the 80’s would instantly recognize this signature sound. I’m so happy for Curt and Roland.
One of the best songs I have ever heard, masterfully performed - genius on every level - got this on permanent repeat.
Exceptional, as one would expect from one of the greatest bands of all time. They are truly a towering monument of invention & sound.
So true!! And love and prayers to Ukrainians everywhere!!!!❤️🙏🇺🇦

@@TzadikTheManic I agree!
I had forgotten how much I missed and love these guys! They effect me on a spiritual level!
Bloody brilliant. So glad to have them back. Been too long.
That was Ah-mazing Guys! Thank you so much. We've missed you!
The new album is gorgeous. Start to end gorgeous.
Sounds amazing. Great new song by TFF for sure.
They've still got "it." Love T4F! 🥰
They still sound like themselves. Their wonderful still after all these years. I got this song on a loop.
This is pure nostalgia to the great era of 80s music. They were one of my fave group back then and they continue to be in my top 3 favorite bands of all time.
This, folks, is how it's done. Got a song? Sing it! Can you play it? Without your computer?😁😍😎
Exactly punked um!!!!!
This production.. holy good god damn... Nothing sounds this good.
Living legends. God bless you!
I think this is the best Curts vocals have sounded in a long time, well rounded and strong with confidence to boot! Absolutely in love with the new album, can't wait to see it performed live someday!
I've also noticed that as well. They are all sounding great together.
The new album is just fantastic.
We spent our senior year of high school cruising around the ovals at Pier Marquette at Lake Michigan. Tears for Fears song Shout could be heard every night blaring from cars and everyone singing along! So glad these two have gotten back together, just when we need them.
I can relate! Same went for (not too surprisingly) Depeche Mode and in particular “Never Let Me Down Again” which also radiates exuberance, and a youthful sense of invincibility :)
There’s just no new artists sounding this good live these days. As a young musician I can’t help but smile at this work if art completely natural. What a group and an excellent new album!
Damn, its nice to see these guys back in action again!
Way to go boys.
Why did this song just make me cry!? Oh how I love TFF ❤
These guys are true Musical Masters!
Amazing. I could cry. They are so good.
I hope they tour in Canada.🇨🇦
What a perfect time for them to release a new album. 🙏
Dis song hit me on a spiritual level, pure poetry 🔥🔊
This song is "what if Tears for Fears made a song in the 2030s" this is how ahead of time they are
I'm so glad they came out with a new album when I heard break the man I love that song right away keep rocking boys
WOW! Just WOW!
