I absolutely have to hand it to Lea for learning to tap for this, tap is NOT easy and that’s coming from a tapper myself. The vulnerability to put herself in someone’s hands to be taught something she’s never known, she gets a new level of respect from me. Love this number so much 😂 Barbra is still the incomparable greatest star but Lea is definitely in a league all her own ❤
@@lindaturash8206 she comes alive on stage, even within the character of Schwartz, she just lights up the place! I truly hope I can see the show in person!
The more important issue is that Lea Saved this show and all these people involved got to keep their jobs. This also helped restore post COVID Broadway. Plus she was the Broadway that Glee needed to be legit and show this generation the glory of past music. That is huge for Broadway. Forget your petty gossip and look at the big picture.
The August Wilson Theatre in New York has over 1200 seats, but it has very little backstage space, and that might be because it was originally built to house plays. If we compare the previous musical that played at the August Wilson (Mean Girls) to Funny Girl (and take into account their respective set designs), it's clear that one of them was a better fit for the August Wilson than the other
The show was produced on the cheap in general - small cast of dancers, costumes, scenery. From what I understand they had to change out the curtain because it was too expensive. What many critics have said since Lea took over is you forget that because she pulls the show together.
I saw the show yesterday, sat in the third row Orchestra. The set worked well! Not as extravagant as most Broadway shows, and I have seen quite a few,but it was fine.,as were the costumes.Dont understand all the criticisms.Anyway, all eyes were on Lea and her magnificent voice..
@@lindaturash8206 Lots of theater snobs, I think. I haven't seen it live, but I think there is a hangover from Beanie's time. From where I sit, if the actors are doing their job, I really don't care what the sets or costumes look like.
It's the fictionalized biography of Fanny Brice - a 20's singer/comedienne and her rise to fame and her love for her no-so-great husband. Reading a biography about her helps fill in the blanks. An amazing woman.
If you go to Michele Costa's Playlist, If A Girl Isn't Pretty is there. I don't know if you need Premium YT or not. She has about 16 videos of the show.
@eponineseccafico9099 It makes me smile, not laugh out loud. I just think she's cute in it. I've seen Streisand in the film and Mimi Hines here on YT and I've never liked it. It's very dated, which is part of the problem. Most of the comedy from that time isn't funny now. What I see in Lea is a transformation to the character and that's what I like about it, if that makes sense.
You sound like you’re making a comment based on dislike of Lea.. which is in poor taste. This isn’t Lea performing as Fanny. This is lea performing as Fanny performing as General Schwartz. The point is to be corny too and it is actually hilarious. I’m gonna assume you haven’t personally seen the show which means your opinion doesn’t count Nathan.
This is probably the best comedy I’ve seen from her in this show, so far at least.
Glad this is back. She's just adorable in this scene. I needed a smile.
Thank you for getting Rat tat tat back on your Playlist. This is a true gem.

Agree-and she did a great job!

Those dancers are working their asses off
Love that you made new records ! I hope there's more ** Thank you so much for sharing

Totally agree!
I love her so much.
She so perfect
Tava esperando esseeee aaaaaa
idk what tf is happening but i love it😭
Why does this set look like its in the marvel cinematic universe…
It’s a set of a set. This is her character performing in a show. This set is simply a set from the show Fanny is performing in.
@@nicolefrances.c Thanks doll, but I said what I said...
@@robotmary121 did anyone question it? No. I simply said what it IS. Idc if you “said what you said” it’s slightly obvious.
@@nicolefrances.c but it still looks like Captain America...
@@robotmary121 lol no one said it didn’t bestie lol. I was just saying what it actually was.
this must be a very tiny theater because the sets are so small and high school like! So much talent working in like 30-35 ft of sample
I would say it’s a very tiny theater compared to others when I went

where’s if a girl isn’t pretty?!
Oh, Lea doesn’t sing so nobody cares.
This person mainly focused on Lea

Haha
She’s trying way too hard to be funny. And she’s not.
This skit is supposed to be over the top silly. If you watch Beanie and Julie in the same scene, they play it the same way.
I think she's wonderful. My guess is you don't like her in general.
