- GLEE and Broadway star Lea Michele talks about playing Fanny Brice on Broadway, years after Rachel Berry played the same role. An extended interview from THE BROADWAY SHOW WITH TAMSEN FADAL conducted by Broadway.com editor Paul Wontorek.
There is something about her that seems softer and more settled. I am really happy for her and her reviews have been very, very good.
She's just aware that people are aware of her toxicity.

@@Chaneloweenz She treated people badly, and it came back to bite her. It had nothing to do with race. Move on.
No one is saying she wasn't terrible before. But, she's had time to mature and she's clearly better. Like Tovah's recent interview, she has been completely inclusive and hasn't made a misstep. The girl is older and finally humble. The talent remains amazing.
You can see she has really matured in the way her eyes sparkle with admiration and honesty when she gives credit to all the women who've had played Fanny in Funny Girl
She has always been very complimentary of people she works with (I’ve followed her since 2011).

Glee was so important!! Such a great showcase for Lea’s voice and talent as an actor as well. I will always treasure it and be grateful!

Classy, but undeserved. Beanie got the role just for connections not talent and sadly for her she was badly exposed

Lovely interview--so happy for Lea. I hope to see her in the show; I saw the inimitable Barbra (!) in 1965--I was a teenager--and I've remembered it with awe and fondness ever since. :)

She deserves it ! She's got the voice, got the talent. You can see she worked for this her whole life. No matter what people gossip about her, you can't if you're honest, deny her talent and performance. She'll more than likely win a Tony !
