    What is that thing called that you have on your drill to catch all the dust when drilling the pot lights?

    Nice work man. Did I see some joists in some of the locations you drilled? That's always my nemesis after I do layout, having to adjust one means they all move to compensate.

      I added a link to the hole saw used on this project. You will need to purchase the arbor separate. Before you purchase you will need to confirm the hole size needed for the lights that you are going to be installing. Many of the lights that are called 6-inch actually require a hole that is larger than 6 inches, so you may end up needing a 6.25" hole saw for some installs instead of a true 6". Good luck!

    I need help:
    We have pre wiring for fan. It's 14-3 wire - white, black, red and ground. The black wire has constant power and I am using it to run the ceiling fan. I have to use remote to turn the fan/light on and off. I capped the red wire which is controlled by the switch.
    My question is: can I use the red, white and ground to add some recessed light?
    I am just worried because I am using the black to run the fan. I'm not sure if I can use the same neutral and ground for recessed lights which is already being used for the fan.

      If you have a stud in the way deconnect the electrical box and take into the attic and install it from the top side. then fish the wire through the hole in the ceiling and connect the wafer portion of the light once you are back inside the room.

    What size whole saw did you use? 4” 1/4

    • @RENOS4PROSJOES
      @RENOS4PROSJOES  3 роки тому +1

      6-inch hole saw, but be sure to determine the size you will need for your project based on the light fixture. Some fixtures are labeled "6 inches" but actually require a slightly larger hole like 6 1/4 inches.

    What do you recommend for sloped ceiling?

    • @RENOS4PROSJOES
      @RENOS4PROSJOES  3 роки тому

      Vaulted ceilings can definitely make things more complicated. If you are installing recessed lights where there weren't any before, your biggest issue is going to be running the electrical wire to the locations. Your options for doing that will depend on if there is an open area in the attic above the vaulted room. If not you will likely have to fish the wire through the wall from inside the vaulted room. There is a very slight chance you could accomplish this install without cutting drywall, but most likely you will have to make some cuts to place the wires and drill any necessary holes. Good luck!
