018.M41: Newly-promoted Blood Ravens Brother-Captain Valefisk launches a swift and decisive strike against an Ork encampment in spite of heavy resistance from the ork women, and the ork children too. In the ruins of the Ork camp, Captain Valefisk discovers an ancient relic from humanity's dark past, a 5 Disk Box Set of the Star Wars Prequels, which *definitely* belongs to the Bloody Magpies- I mean Blood Ravens, and not to any other Chapter, such as the Imperial Fists, to whom the ancient relic definitely does not belong. While dividing the spoils however, Brother-Captain Valefisk runs afoul of his immediate superior, Brother-Captain Computer 1 of the 1st Company, and refusing to share the spoils, the Bloody Magpies come to blows with their battle-brothers, as the Emperor no doubt wills. Unfortunately Brother-Captain Valefisk has not yet had time to study the ancient relic 5 Disk Box Set and gives up the High Ground to his opponent, and is swiftly defeated. Later, Imperial records are altered to show the Blood Ravens instead fighting against Chaos Space Marines, to hide the latest of the Blood Ravens' many shameful failures.

Soulstorm wasn't the best DoW game tho That was Dark Crusade, a "perfect" game...By which i mean there's something about moving back to maps and seeing the scarring from every battle
You should really get the expansion that lets you play as the Imperial Guard, I think you'd like them. Their squad commanders can execute one of their own men to give a morale boost to the rest lol. Also they can build the biggest artillery pieces you've ever seen.
This! By far the best Thing to do in Dawn of War is to either get the Dark Crusade or Soul Storm Expansion and play a Campaign. Also if you want a really "balanced" Faction go for Eldar. They can just turn their whole Base invisible in the late Game because why not?
yeah, the thing about the AI in this game on hard is that the longer the game goes on, the worse it is for you. You can easily and reliably lock a hard AI into their base in like a minute and just trap them there forever, but if you take the time to build up your own forces at home and your half of the map, they will quickly outpace you in their production and swarm you. They aren't necessarily smart though, and you can sneak a force around to destroy their base while stalemating their army. I think how it works is that they have the same starting resources as you, but a higher resource gain. (and potentially higher APM). This is really apparent in games where you're outmatched with more than one enemy. If you don't take out one of the two(+) in the first five minutes there's no reliable way for you to win. One of the campaign missions exemplifies this when you face 3 enemy factions, each with their own unit cap and vehicle cap. (so, 60 units to your 20, for example.) You either rush the hell out of them, because they don't start built up, or you get hit with 100+ supply attack waves with 3 blood thirsters and it's physically impossible to defend against. It's pretty contrary to a lot of other RTS games on harder difficulties where you're rewarded for focusing heavily on defense to build up an overwhelming force.
My favourite experience is playing IG with my friend as Orkz fighting insane AI Chaos Daemons and Tyranids, and then having my in-game time be seven minutes behind his due to the piles of units.
Just go watch if the emperor had a text to speech advice its easily the closest and best thing 40k will get to a netflix series (plus it will fill u in on a bunch of the memes)

@@Hitman2b yeah. I remember once I was playing as the necrons in a ffa. I destroyed the 2 factions next to me. Eventually it was only me and the dark eldar. I built a doomsday monolith and the dark eldar built a titan. I destroyed it with the doomsday monolith easily but then they built another one. Destroyed that as well but they kept on building them. This went on for 20 minutes or so. By this point I built the giant generator (it was a heavy thermal generator I think) and started building great pyramids just a whole row of them (the exact number of them were 3 so I constantly bombarded them) but the dark eldar kept producing titans. I was getting suspicious because all their requestion points were decayed so they should have ran out of resources to build with. But then they also started building 2 of their super structures (keep in mind that they were producing titans for 20 minutes now) that started fireing at me. I eventually lost do to the constant titans they had charging at my base. The doomsday monolith was destroyed by their super structures so I had basically no defense against their titans. This was quite strange because I won a 2 to 1 scenario as the necrons. (I've gone against the orks and the tyranids. My allie was the tau but they died 5 minutes in to the game. I holden them off for so long they ran out of resources so they couldn't build anything and then I simply marched in to their base with ease) turns out if you have a certain combination of options on the ai becomes over powered so I changed the options a bit and everything went fine since then.

DoW is all about micro! Next time you should give special/hero abilities a try, they can make a difference during battle. Mid-late game Space Marine units like an upgraded Assault Terminator Squad or Dreadnoughts (which deliver way better than the Hellfire variant or most other SM vehicles imo) can use the orbital drop building's ability for awesome strikes. Send the units in while holding the first few points with your very versatile Space Marines. Upgrade/swap them depending on the enemies you're facing, which would mostly be light or heavy infantry and hero units up to mid game. Always fill up your squad, leaders are usually well spent points. Then try to tech the better resource efficiency techs so you can outspend your enemies if you can't overrun them early on. What I truly love about this game is that most factions have some cool take on the core mechanics, allowing for different strategies. Using the Necron Lord for an epic comeback during a battle, or sexy Eldar Banshees harassing the shit out of the enemy while building a cloaked base right next to them were always great fun.

Dawn Of War Soulstorm Ultimate Apocalypse THB Is A Perfectly Balanced Modification Of A Perfectly Balanced Masterpiece...Which Only Coincidentally Plays A Lot Like Company of Heroes
I wonder how well he'd do at Dawn of War Soulstorm, or even the Ultimate Apocalypse mod. His tendency to lean towards "Casualties are perfectly acceptable" kind of align with the Imperial Guard doctrine of throwing men at a problem until it's gone. They also have some of the best tanks in the game (like the "11 BARRELS OF HELL" Baneblade), and artillery with stupidly long range (the Basilisk). And then there are the Heavy Weapons Suppression Teams, one of my favourite units in the game, which are basically MG nests you can set up where you can't build proper defence turrets, that can even be upgraded to either an autocannon (Jack-of-all-Trades) or a Lascannon (Anti-Tank/Sniper).

i can relate with the first 30 seconds, 10/10
> is friends with Rimmy
> hasn't heard Rimmy's Warhammer 40k rants
"It's almost like I need to know how to play the game." Fro Thinks so too :)
Whirlwind artillery tank here
He who fights with me shall be my brother
The fallen shall forever be remembered as the emperors finest
Heresy grows from idleness
An open mind is a castle with its gates unbarred and unguarded
knows nothing about 40k. somehow knows that the space marines in the opening cinematic are called the blood ravens...………...
To be fair. The emblem is a blood drop on a Raven
wtf?
Game 1: completely clueless
Game 2: suddenly pulls out the perfect build order
he is incompetent AND he know nothing of the game. Negative and negative make positive.
As a war hammer man the only time you need to know about cannon, is in real wold games
Also “MY FACE IS MY SHIELD”
How does it feel to be odst dropped
"Knows nothing about Warhammer" Gods, I wish that was me...
*Laughs in ultimate apocalypse*
Valefisk: I have no idea what im doing or how to play

Dawn Of War Soulstorm Ultimate Apocalypse THB Is A Perfectly Balanced Modification Of A Perfectly Balanced Masterpiece...Which Only Coincidentally Plays A Lot Like Company of Heroes
doing a video on my favourite game earned you a subscription
Valefisk-"I'm really getting a Halo Wars vibe"
Me- "WHA...no, no, it's okay. Yeah, it is kind of like the Halo Wars building system. I mean, this and the system behind it are way older, but yeah. Fair enough."
Vale-"Oh hey, this guy has that thing from Halo. A gravity hammer?"
Me-"...you're trying to hurt me, aren't you?"
Vale-"Man, this is really easy when you have Tartarus from Halo 2 running around with your guys!"
Me-Bleeding out from wrists in impotent nerdrage.
Your intro is the motto of the imperial guardsmen
>Given he doesn't know, but calling a thunder hammer a gravity hammer I'm shaking and crying
PLEASE PLAY THIS WITH UA I B E G YOU

edit; thats the Ultimate Apocalypse mod, might kinda eat ur computer a bit, but worth every bite tbh
Recruiter: "join the army and you'll get a rocket engine strapped to your back"
Seeing you run around with unreinforced marine squads burns my soul.
this brings back some many memories for me played dawn of war all the time with my friends in college
I never knew watching someone play my childhood would cause me physical pain but here it is
NOW DO IT WITH ULTIMATE APOCALYPSE
YOU GOTTA DO COSSACKS 1 OR 3. GET READY FOR THOUSANDS OF SLAVS ON SCREEN AT ONCE
>tries to figure out a game on a go
>proceeds to ignore most of the information given to him by the game
Alright then.
Uhm, no. The point was that he intentionally went into the game blind for laughs. He even makes fun of it later on in the video.
In the first 30 seconds of the video, I already knew that it deserved a like
Just found your channel cause of the Battle for Middle Earth II vids, keep up the awesome vids!
Ofc Dawn of War is perfectly balanced
(Later in Dark Crusade)
Why there are so many grey zombies? Why can't I kill them? Why did they suddenly have creeping melee units in my base?
>perfectly balanced
>dark crusade
Necrons, Eldar and Tau would like to have a word with you
After 2 rounds of skirmish, he's already starting to be one with the emperor.
Hear me out.... dawn of war 2 apocalypse mod.
Play Supreme Commander Forged Alliance next!! :D
call's 5 squads of standrad space marines, a "monstrous army" - Oh my sweet summerchild >.>
Vale speaks like a Black Templar, Has the tactical know-how of an Ultramarine, and needs more Soldiers to kill like an Imperial Fist. Basically, he's two steps away from being a fully-fledge Black Templar Castellan
I was upset at first because you were doing things wrong, and then you figured it out and I was pretty impressed. Good on you.
Yeah the easy mode ai is basically brain dead whereas the normal ai can absolutely rape you if you don’t mobilize quickly
Applies also in Soulstorm?
PD:Sorry for my english
