I know im really late, but just a tip to expand on the guy that said "Why does my beat sound more shitty the more I hear it" that should be normal, it happens because of repetition of hearing the same sounds and patterns over and over again. Especially if you're taking a long time on it. It's just kinda tormenting for the brain and that's where you start to hear the "shittiness" of it. A way you can tell if its not shitty is by not listening to it at all for an entire day or two, come back and listen to it, and it should sound better.
At 03:14 for the maximum zoom-in problem caused by accidentally CTRL-Right Clicking, you can just CTRL-Right Click again and it should zoom back out to where you were before.
FIX FOR DEFAULT TEMPLATE ISSUE: If you go to general settings and look at the bottom right there's an option to change the default template to whichever one you like! Found this video looking for tips on midi stuff but got great other stuff, thanks!
Even though this video was posted a year ago, I'm gonna leave this here. DONT save FL files to your desktop. I had a file corrupt when exporting a few years ago that caused 100% disk and CPU usage whenever it was visible in the file explorer. I should mention it was an exported music file, I'm unsure if it was WAV or Mp3, because I always mix down both, including individual mixer channels. Made my computer literally unusable and in need of a hard reboot. I was lucky that it wasn't on the desktop, because I would never have been able to fix the issue. It persisted in safe mode as well, and the only reason I could delete it is because I used command prompt. I did some looking around and found someone with the same issue from years before I even had the issue and someone in the thread said that it's a problem that, although rare, has persisted with FL for quite some time. I don't know whether or not it's been patched since, but it's not worth the risk to me. Before anyone says it, no, I did not pirate FL. I legitimately own it currently, but I was using the trial version at the time. Just a word of warning.
Might have been related to you not being allowed to reopen saved projects when you're in the trial mode- so I would think that it probably is related to using the trial version. Might have caused some sort of infinite loop between your OS and FL Studio of: "Am I allowed to open this?" "Yea, but you can't OPEN it." "But can I open it tho?" "Yes, but..." (also sorry for the revival of a 1 year old thread, just wanted to hopefully add something to this as it seems like a pretty devastating bug!)
5:22 Instead of "making sure everything is tidy and nicely cut" I just select the area that I want to copy by right clicking on the brower bar thingy at the top with right click - Then you have everything inside selected, whether it starts/ends there or not. You can even de-select everything and just copy one sample over and over (but with your selected time) with that.
How to fix: when recording vocals, if the take isn’t good, undoing it so you can record again..the next take appears on the next track...if you undo then do another take, it appears on the track after that one...and repeat..after like 10 takes..instead of having your vocal be on the first track in your playlist...it’s lost further down in another track...it’s so annoying when recording
I have a problem. When I playback my beats sometimes certain parts on the audio track(808’s for example) that are linked to the mixer just muté themselves for a certain period of time and it is very aggravating
If you have an instrument you can play over the scale notes to get an idea. If not, I sometimes convert the audio to midi and figure the key from the notes
I'm new to Fl studio and I was working on a song on the demo version, when I opened one of the plugins on the Synth classics-Toxic Biohazardz, the whole song became muted, even the exported audio. i wish I would've had the full version.
Finding a root note by ear (playing different notes on fl keys until one sounds like the root) usually works for me. Plus, maybe it's also training my ears
for the ''how to close every plugin'' problem its easy u dont even need to click on the playlist because even though u do that the plugins interfaces will still be open in the background just click f 12 and your are gonna solve it plus save some cpu
Simpler solution for the zoom problem: Just control + right click without dragging. And also you can zoom vertically by pressing the mouseweel and holding control

Umm I was messing around with plugins right after I finished a beat and I came across the sampler called DIRECT WAVE And somehow I clicked it and now I can’t hear nothing at all no audio nothing PLEASE HELP

To close all the plugin tabs when u open FL, just put em all behind hte mixer, rack etc. with the time u get em all closed or u forget about it :D but i think they added an option for this after all these years
I know you said u can't fix the mic problem and the video is a year old, but if u turn the mic on a mixer track just go to the right side of your screen were you put your plugins in and right above it there will be a tab that says post click that and change it to none it will get rid of the mic on the master or whatever channel it went to, just thought I would post for anyone who hasn't figured it out yet.
I’m trying scroll down on my playlist arrangement and everything keeps getting blown up and when I try to delete something by right clicking it. It just plays back the audio. How do I stop this?
Can someone please help? The issue I have is that when I open the FL studio file, there are no errors. It opens as normal. All of the drum sounds play, but the sample itself is not playing, even though the chops are still there, and the file is still on my PC in the same place, (i.e. FL is not trying to find it). It's still chopped in Edison, but it just doesn't play in the piano roll or sequencer.

you might like ultrawide monitors. They are great imo. I've seen people shrug them off as a gimmick but I don't think I can go back to a normal width monitor after having an ultrawide. it's like a monitor and a half wide
on finding what the root notes of the chords are in a chord progression. If you have a guitar tuner you can just cut the loop in to parts and then play them individualy and use the guitar tuner to find the notes. :)

For the accidental zooming, if you go to that “little tab” on the top right and middle click it, it will revert back to its default zoom

3:20 To adjust the zoom in the sequencer you can also click in and hold the mouse scroll wheel and move the mouse up or down
For undo, you can go into the general settings then check on "Alternate undo mode" then everytime you hot key control+z it'll undo like normal.

To close all those pesky plugins, hold the escape key and use tab to cycle between any windows!

but when i try to apply the stereo delay effect on long samples it says use 64 bit version. what can i do?
