Awww, thanks :D Are you jealous of the location or just going out backpacking? Like I said in my video, it's beautiful everywhere you live, so you can find a wonderful location near you as well :) I hope you'll enjoy the last part of this trip as well. It has even more epic scenery and some interesting info on the history of this place.

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful little video. I spent July 7 - July 13 in the Sierra Nevada Mountains backpacking to shadow lake, ediza lake, garnet lake and thousand island lake and it was amazing. Your video brought me back to that place. So special.

Thank you so much for watching and for your comment. That means so much to me. These mountains truly capture your heart, don't they! I already can't wait to go back, and I think my next trip will be during Fall. I'll have to look up the locations you visited. Did you have a favorite? I'm glad that I could bring back these memories :)

I loved your adventure, rain and all! Looking forward to part 3. I'll be at Cottonwood Lakes in 4 more days. I'm going for the purpose of acclimating for 3 nights, then I'll drive to Mammoth Lakes to hike over Duck Pass to Vermilion Valley Resort, then hike back out to Mono Creek trail and ending at Mosquito Flats. It will be about 40 miles in all.

Thank you so much for watching and for your comment. That means a lot to me. I'm so glad that I could bring back these memories. Your trip sounds amazing! This was only my first time in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, but I think it's going to be my go-to place whenever I can. I'm already thinking about a Fall trip! :)

Oh! I was reading another comment above yours and was still thinking about it when I replied to you. I'm so sorry! :D It's so great to read from people that they've been there before, but you're going there soon! You will love it. You'll be there while I'm working on the last part of this series, and by the time you get back, you might recognize quite a few places, but your hike over Duck Pass will be the real adventure. I would love to do this eventually, perhaps after the winter. I still need to build up some endurance for longer trips like this. 40 miles is quite a bit. Of course, everything takes me longer because of all the filming, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Reading comments like yours make the effort worth it.
Well, thanks for watching, and sorry again about the mix up with another comment. I will respond to that person now. :) See you in my last episode, but in the meantime, have an amazing adventure. Perhaps you'll let me know leter how it went. I would love to hear from you.

Great video series. I did a similar trip up there (including two nights at Muir Lake) in 2022. Such a great place to wander around. Thanks for posting the videos. It brings back lots of memories.

That's so great to hear, and you're not the only one! I posted the series on Facebook and got some similar responses. Maybe you found it there? Thank you for watching!
I'm already thinking about my next trip, sometime in October or late September. I didn't have any problems with the elevation and distance, so I think I can push myself a little harder, perhaps head up a pass and maybe even attempt to reach a lower summit. Let me know if you have any suggestions :)

@@adventuresandreams If you are talking about another trip in the Cottonwood Lakes area, I enjoyed our first night at Cirque Lake and would recommend camping there. Out of the way like Muir so less people (which I like). You could also camp at a lake near New Army Pass (High Lake or Long Lake?) and summit Mt Langley (weather permitting). There is also Miter Basin which is amazing (from the videos I've watched). Lots of choices.
I have also done a 60 mile loop starting and ending at Cottonwood Pass that went: Cottonwood Pass to Rock Creek (Camp 1) to Guitar Lake (camp 2). Summited Mt Whitney then up and over Discovery Pass and down into Crabtree Basin (last two parts were off-trail, but not too difficult). Hiked down Crabtree Basin to Crabtree Meadows (Camp 3). Re-connected with the PCT (the trail I came in on) and out to the trailhead. The last day was a very long 20 mile day. I'd probably find a place to camp halfway or so back to add one more night.

@@HuskyMike Thank you so much for the quick reply and great suggestions. I will definitely save those in my list of places I want to visit. 60 miles, that's quite a bit. I know that I wouldn't be able to do that in the time that's always available to me (Thursday - Sunday) because it takes quite a bit of time to film my adventures. I often walk the same path twice to retrieve the camera :D I do like your idea of Cirque Lake if it has fewer people, as you say. That's really important for me as well. It seems to be a bit harder in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to find super remote areas, or perhaps I don't know enough about the region yet. Several people recommended Cottonwood Lakes to me, and it was honestly pretty busy except for my path back to the TH. I think I'll definitely research some more out-of-the-way places next time.

@@adventuresandreams Yes, it's hard to find much seclusion in these areas. If you go to Cirque Lake, take the South Fork Cottonwood Creek Trail. I didn't see a single person on my way to Cirque.
Give Miter Basin a look too. Once you break off of the main trail and head into the basin toward Sky Blue Lake, it's doubtful you'll run into many (if any) people.
Looks like youtube deleted my second comment (I think because I included my dog's social media name). I just followed you in case you want to check out our pics of the Cottonwood Lakes area.
In that reply, I also included suggestions for Rae Lakes, Little Lakes Valley and Big Pine Lakes hike. Not very secluded but (I think) spread out enough that you could find some quiet, alone time). Enjoy.

I've seen photos of the Big Pine Lakes area before and it looked great. I will save all the others too. You must have been there a few times, then. I'm just getting started :D

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like my videos. :) Yeah, the condensation was a bit of a problem. Maybe it's worth adding a footprint under the tent to minimize it, but my goal was to truly lighten the load on this trip, which made a huge difference. If you check out my backpacking trip video from last year, which was the same amount of time, I had so much more stuff! ua-cam.com/video/LUS0dTDW2H0/v-deo.html
