I personally found youre video helpful because it helped me decide I don’t have time to do it tonight 🤝
Thanks for making a video that is detailed yet still somewhat "simple". Now I feel I could do this repair/replacement about 85% myself.
Glad it helped
I found it helpful that you covered every step, in order, to get me pointed in the right direction for my 03 radiator replacement tomorrow! I subscribed, thanks for a great, thorough video without eating an hour of my time over explaining the obvious!
Thank you!
As an old Honda owner (01 Civic and CRV), your videos have been a god send. Thank you!
Glad to help!
Thanks for the instructional video. I would have removed the fans and it would have been a nightmare. Also removing the hood latch was a great tip. The condenser fan was tricky, but i figured out that you hold it up out of the way with your right hand, and then pull out the lightweight radiator with your left hand. Saved me time and money!
Hi Guys . I’m doing this job right now on a 2002 1/7 LX . And I didn’t need to take the bumper off . I just took out the top plastic cover removing the snap connectors & putting the cover forward carefully. And removed the small self tapping screws connected to the grill took up the cover and still had lots room to remove the rad & the fans. Taking the fans out first carefully ⚒👍
Love this guy!!! It's so relieving when I search for something and he comes up first. As someone who just wants to make my daily dailyable again, it's so great when he pops up and just 12 minutes later, I know what I'm getting into. Thanks again for the great content
Happy to help!
Thanks I'm changing my radiator tomorrow and your video has helped me to feel confident I can do it myself
You can do it!
I like how informative you are ans and will try to change my own radiator
Thank you. This video was detailed, comprehensive and helped me with some questions I had while changing the radiator on my Civic. Great job.
Glad it helped
You should fill the system with collant and run the engine up to temperature to leak check it before you put the bumper and the covers back on.
Thanks to you I changed my part all by myself! You saved me dawg.. thank you (all the fatherless bastards like myself)
Heck yeah man!
Great job with the step by step. Looks easy once someone shows each step
Glad it was helpful!
@@hondaresource I pulled it, re-crimped the bottom tank, which was leaking, with some channel locks and a hammer, and put it back in in less than an hour. It's not leaking.....yet :)
I did my rad without taking the bumper
Off or the hood latch saved me hours in playing with it
I don't even need to do this but I'm really enjoying the videos. I will be getting my D17a1 next week for a swap, thanks to your videos I'm confident to do it myself.
Right on! that's why I make these videos!
I am now confident now thanks
Great 🤟🤟
Pretty nice video!!! Sure wish that condenser was getting replaced!!! Hahaha!!! Great job!
Poor fox 🥲 good video man ✌🏻✌🏻
P.S. I still had to remove the hood catch.
Is it necessary to remove bumper for this ?
Thanks exactly what i nedd 😎💪🏼
Happy to help!
Can I bypass the fan removal with my 2004, since u said 2004 and 05 were slightly different?. Thanks
No. The difference is the bumper/ headlight design
@@hondaresourceThank you 😅
Will the a/c still work with the condenser damaged, my son ran his honda into a ditch and damaged the condenser similar to yours. I thought it was the radiator 😅 until I watched your video.
It depends on if the damaged condenser is leaking refrigerant. If the A/C system is holding the refrigerant it should still work.
Thanks, brother. Vary informative. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Like how there was no over explaing..everything was simple and to the point..
Glad you found it useful!
you did the job back word lol
Great video boss. Thanks.
No problem 👍
You sure they didn't want to change the condenser as well...???
It still works as is.
Thanks for the info
No problem 👍
Quick question, my son placed a 2006 lx radiator and thermostat in his 2003 lx would this be a problem being that the 2003 is a 1.7 and 2006 is 1.8
I don't see how he was able to use either of these. It's a completely different engine design
@@hondaresource all the hoses and transmission lines are in the same location as the 2003, it's been running fine
Thanks, buddy
Hope it helps you
Hey ty for the info. My old radiator was cracked along the top around the cap.I also installed a different grill that let's more air in. The condenser isn't bent like the one you were dealing with but the fins on the front of it looked beat up, bent over and shit, so that's got to effect air flow right? or reduce it. So far so good.
It should be fine
Do you need to any thread locker to the coolant lines ?
No
Did you have to bleed the coolant system?
I always recommend bleeding them. I usually just find a small hill and park the vehicle nose up.
What if you have a manual and new radiator came with the fittings for trans cooler what do I do then?
Just leave them open or cap them, whatever makes you happy. It'll work fine either way.
@@hondaresource thanks much appreciated
Did you really have to take the bumper off ?
I do, not to say it's not possible.
Does the 03 Honda civic has transmission filter???
It's internal, can't replace without rebuilding the transmission.
@@hondaresource thanks best thang to do is just change the fluid and clean solenoids car set up 4 years
