Wonderful, I was born there and at the moment I am so so homesick, circumstances don't permit me from going back, work cash etc etc.... Thanks for this jewel...
They say Ireland is a magical place. Even if you only dust off your Irish surname once a year on March 17th, know this. Sometime back a man with your name, your ancestor left Ireland. He brought with him his songs, stories, sorrows, joys and his magic. If you've ever said " Oh I wish I could go", that's the magic calling you home !!!
BEN! This is Chuck and Rosa's daughter, Beth. I loved all of the pictures and I adore the video! Someday, when I have the means, I'll have to visit "home" and see the wonderful sights. I'm glad my parents could share the trip with you and Judy. Love to you both, Beth.
Wow! awesome! I have been to Ireland in 1983 and 2005! My grandfather did leave as the song goes and the only place I want to visit again is Ireland. Big Ben excellent video you are a talented guy! Thanks so much!
Excellent!!! Just PERFECT!!! I loved the song!!! It really moves me... as if it were written for me. Thanks for this wonderful video!! Greetings from Mexico. María
That was lovely, both the song and the tour, and explains how I feel about Ireland, though I have visited Dublin last year, and I would love to visit again, maybe on a tour.
WOW Ben, This is so wonderful. I came home to Ireland the first time I was there. Loved your bagpipe and boudran.... great edit...You are what makes UA-cam so much fun and interesting...favorited... Your good friend, Hy
Thanks, JR. Yes, your recommendation of Loop Head was spot on....I'll never feel the need to go to the "obligatory" Cliffs of Moher again. The experience along the cliffs at Kilkee is far better and only a few miles away....and you can even fish.....if you're brave enough!
I really enjoyed the video. My cousin is coming in from Beara (Kilcatherine) tomorrow. I will show him your videos if he gets homesick! I saw a lot of familiar sights- Castletownbere, Healy Pass, Glanmore Lake, the cable car. . . I wish I heading back but I'm happy I found this so I 'visit' when I get homesick.
Thanks much. Good to hear from you again. How's the food at Breen's? It was closed at that time of the day when we were there. That view is of Castletownbere off in the distance. Glad to see they've restored Dunboy Castle, but the additional hotel parts seem a bit out of place. But, I guess it's better than just letting it fall apart.
Thanks! Those were taken at the top of Healy Pass on Beara standing on the Kerry/Cork line looking down into Kerry. Sorry, I don't recall the name of the lake. Incidentally, the shot at 3:18 was taken at the exact same spot, just turned the camera 90 degrees. Breath-taking place.
@thekevinkyle Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it. I once tried to drive all the way from Florida to Newfoundland but ran out of time in PEI....great trip, tho. Some unique scenery there. Gotta try it again some time!
Thank you for the video and the fine music. It put a lump in my throat. Castle Ward in County Down is calling me home. The words of JFK are an echo of my thoughts. I've never been to Ireland, but it is on my to do list right near the top. My family came from there not so long ago. I am certain I will be at home when I get there.
@YehItsJT Yeah, nice shots you got. Would be interesting to see what kind of butterfly that caterpillar grew into....did you use him while fishing? LOL.
@RedKruzer Thanks, Fearless One! The song after JFK is from Frank Gilligan formerly of the Mason Dixon Band (you may remember them). And, yes, I've gotten that question before, lol......I'm just looking wistfully down the long and winding road......of my ancestors. Looks like you had a good St. Paddy's trip!
@PURPLEBEATTIE1 Thanks much! Hope to see some uploads of the Scottish highlands from you, too, someday I once did 6 castles in the Aberdeen area in one afternoon.....very photogenic place! Like a postcard everywhere you go.
Well, when you get that new mountain bike, take it to Healy Pass in Ireland....the opening scene here. If the ride isn't 'breath-taking', the scenery is!!!!
@YehItsJT, thanks for commenting. Sounds like you've hit some high spots, hope you get to see further south along the west coast, as well. Unforgettable places there. You mentioned "41 seconds" on 'Ireland the Beautiful'. I assume you were referring to Ashford Castle at that point on the vid....it's just a short drive south of Tubbercurry. For about EU500 you can spend the night there and take falconry courses! ;-)
@capttheo1 Well, if you're gonna be stuck somewhere for years during a 3 hour tour, I guess Ireland's a pretty good spot! Good to see you around these parts again, capttheo. Drop by anytime....MaryAnn might have a coconut pie waiting for you. ;-)
What a beautiful video of Ireland...I love the music and the different greens of this county. Simply excellent....Thumbs up + faved Do you was born there? Hugs, Heidi
Absolutely brilliant video, great editing. I recognised Breens Lobser Bar from when we were down in Castletownbere last year. Where is that panoramic view from 6:02 onwards?
@EdMuirton Thanks, Ed.....and no bendy characters were harmed in the making of this film....did get a view scratches on the car tho on those narrow roads!
@YehItsJT Hey, Jordan, great idea about touring Ireland by bike. Just be sure to bring rain gear. But the views will be fantastic. Plan ahead only slightly for general locations. Some of your favorite spots will be the ones you find accidentally. As for passing my home, you'll need a boat. I live in Florida!
@eyeries12 Thanks! Kilcatherine is one of my favorite places....your cousin will recognize the cross in my channel icon picture is from the old Kilcatherine church cemetery looking out to sea. Beautiful spot! And, of course, the town of Eyeries is in several of my vids. Come back anytime....Ireland and I will be here!
Thanks, irishfreedom32. I like your name. If I may be so bold to say, also.....I'm so sorry that your countrymen voted away their freedom last week. You are now on a one way street after so many of your ancestors gave their lives to obtain your freedom. Good luck. Mar do thintean fein.
Another very well crafted video of a beautiful island, we go every couple of years, but we live in England A commercial break for our friends in Ireland, put in search box ArchieUKx and see some other views of Ireland, not quite up to the standard of bigbenijax, but you may enjoy the photographs.
Awesome vid Ben :D thanks for telling me about it. This is exactly how i feel. You did an amazing job and what song did you use after the president spoke?
Yes, YT is definitely not as friendly as the Irish....not one of them accused me of a copyright infringement or forced me to write nonsense words before making a comment. They did mention the word "Euro" quite often, tho. And, yes, Frank's song really hits home.....
@capttheo1 I prefer to stay behind the camera, but the handsome dude in the dark cap is me......and the tall one at the end standing next to that big clock. ;-)
Hey Big Guy, Great video...great edit, creative as all get out... is the song after JFK yours? And r u peing? no matter, i'm forwarding this to colleen...
It has come to my attention that some of the younger audience does not recognize the speaker in this video. It is President John F. Kennedy shortly before he was assassinated.
@bigbeninjax ...It's my speciality don't cha know. Yeah.. I am a professional ranter...But even if I didn't get $ paid $ to Rant~~~..I would do my" art" for free because I love it so much. ;-P
Wonderful, I was born there and at the moment I am so so homesick, circumstances don't permit me from going back, work cash etc etc.... Thanks for this jewel...
Thanks, Beth, as you can tell we had a wonderful time. No doubt, one day Ireland will call you home, too.

Stunning. Ireland is a beautiful country populated with the most agreeable people. I love the place.
Cheers,

Thanks, JC, for stopping by and the kind words....I'll have to get me one of those Casio camcorders like yours so I can step it up a notch.

Hi, LilBen. Thanks for stopping by. Which reminds me I'm overdue to pay your great channel a visit.
Thanks, Cathy, I think I have now been in every county in Ireland and NI....more than most Irish can say, I suspect.
@TravelWithMusic Thanks, Heidi. I was born in Florida from Irish ancestry. I get back 'home' to Eire as often as possible.
Thanks for stopping by, Rob!
@thekevinkyle Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it. I once tried to drive all the way from Florida to Newfoundland but ran out of time in PEI....great trip, tho. Some unique scenery there. Gotta try it again some time!
Interesting show - nice scenes and music - keep up the good work! :-)
WONDERFUL vid... JFK's Voice~ that clipped distinctive Accent is unforgettable.
My favorite part, too. I could have sat there for hours. SLIANTE!
Thanks, Natasha. Hope your efforts are going well back on your channel.

Fabulous vid..Ireland.. So beautiful.. ..
Also, you put out some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard, if I may be so bold.
Thanks so much, Capt....that's music to my ears!
Agreed, Allen. Thanks!
I lived in Scotland for 15 months. I gotta rank that right up there with Ireland. The Scots are damn fine people as well.
Great music!!
allen
Thanks, trinity. A great compliment.
Thanks, Lady Julia! I knew you'd like the opening!
Amazing sights and sounds Ben. Took me right back. 5*****

Kind of brings a whole new meaning to Gilligan's Island, doesn't it?
Thanks, Rick! You mean that wasn't you at the top of Healy Pass???
Haha....well, I kinda have to agree. When I get on a bike it's for leisure and pleasure, not jumping over, under, around and through obstacles! LOL
Thanks, Badger Dave. They don't come any better than the Irish folk.
@twelvemo Thank you! You have a good heart!
What a beautiful video of Ireland...I love the music and the different greens of this county. Simply excellent....Thumbs up + faved
Do you was born there?

@karmakomodia Thanks, dear, glad you stopped by! Keep on ranting!
Uh oh, looks like I'm being a bad influence on ya! LOL.
@tps607 They say that sometimes the journey is more important than the destination....with Ireland, they're both sweet!
@TheWelshSun Thanks, Des. Little traffic, gorgeous scenery, what more could a cyclist ask for? Well, maybe lack of rain. LOL.
Good lord! It truly is Gilligan's Island!
I suspect there are some fishing spots there you'd like to try?
Awesome
At least you can use that new mountain bike year round!
I love it!
