Welcome to Marks Mini Cooper S Mk3 built in 1970 and registered in 1971. This Cooper S was last restored in 1997 and featured in Mini World magazine. Unfortunately 23 years down the line and it's looking tired in some areas so Mark has decided to take it off the road for a full restoration which will involve stripping it back to a bare shell, sandblasting, and a respray. Fortunately, the engine has already been restored recently by Swiftune engineering

It's always hard to resist slapping on grease when you know it's difficult to access the mechanism in the future.. Very restrained and of course the correct thing to do. That Woolies trim shop was a good find. Some parts are now getting impossible to obtain and can hold things up.. All looking very good Mark...

😅 I've learnt my lesson, winding the window down after cleaning it to then see a grease smear as i wind it back up! 🤦‍♂ Thank you Pete.🙂

I think Keith must have edited out your window mechanism install 🤣 I’ve another question for you/Keith/anyone- when fitting the new weather strips, do you put the clips on the car then press the strips on? Or do you insert the clips into the strips and then press down? (I think it’s the latter but have a ‘94 car and cannot seem to get the clips into the outer ones as the ends are sealed, whys it not straight forward 🤦‍♂️ cheers

Yes, probably looked way longer than it should've taken! 😂 I always fit the clips on the car first then the trims. Minis are never straight forward!

@@markdraper7 thanks Mark, it’s very handy you being slightly ahead of me 🤣. I know most stuff but every now and again there’s something new. I’ve had these trims off and on dozens of times but never fitted new ones before.

Hiya Mark-I work Friday nights so I missed the update. Cooper S looks brilliant. Hope your apprentice is on good money! Keep well.

Hi Dave, thanks for watching. I'm getting her to do it for love, her interest is up and down and want her to to be interested in the processes rather than the cash. We look after her regardless. 🙂 Hope you're well.
