@@niveahmartinez2187 while only in passing, they have spoken derisively of Muslims and Islam in general in their blog posts from 2014-2015. Those were, unfortunately, deleted. And otherwise they tend to generally speak derisively of anyone who does not fit into their box, whether it be LGBT people or otherwise.
@@firasjemil213 I do know that. Why are you deferring this, though? I'd be happy to speak to a Muslim person about the validity of their beliefs, but these two are not Muslim.
Can you be friends with a non believer and not try to convert them?
I had a very religious friend, and he was awesome and kind and I loved our friendship. But every once in a while he'd ask I wanted to be baptized. I kept saying "thank you, but no. I love hearing about religion and it is very interesting, but not my personal belief, even if I'm spiritual." And after a while he kept getting more distant, and I think I nipped our friendship completely when I thought I could confide in him about my sexuality.

As a friend they should respect and love you for you and keep nasty opinions to themselves. I hope you have friends that make you feel better about your sexuality and don't shun you.
@@OutbackRose7 thank you ☺️ yes I am very lucky to have a very supportive and understanding partner and close friends. His friendship just cuts a little deep, we were best friends for 4 years and did so much together. Even when he got engaged he didn't accept my congratulations.
I just think about him a lot, wishing him the best. I can only hope when he thinks about me, it's fondly.

Like I don't agree with Girl Defined's opinions but posting some ridiculous troll comments isn't going to get them to change their minds (if that's your goal?), if anything it just makes everyone who disagrees with them look bad because it creates the assumption that we can't articulate our opinions, open discussions, and arguments and are just simply reacting emotionally. It also just pushes their narrative that they are being persecuted. Ya'll need to learn how to approach things better lol

I am an atheist, I came here to listen to a viewpoint different from my own, to learn how and where that viewpoint comes from as well as what sort of people have said viewpoint

I'm not a believer or even agree with 99% of what these girls preach, but it's kind of sad that they have to justify having a white extended family. Have you guys never seen Middle Eastern, African, Indian, Asian or Hispanic families before? They are HUUUUGE and there's hardly ever a white person in sight but I don't care one bit. It doesn't offend me. I'm all for ethnic diversity in friendship and relationships, I think it can reduce prejudice and be extremely enriching, but a lot of cultures do also opt to stick together and there's nothing wrong with that either. I feel like you can't even just be white anymore without someone accusing you of racism by default.

I think it's because if you don't like the lyrical content you would not want to support the song, even if you like the melody/rhythm. Lyrics can affect your viewpoints.

The more I watch them as a non-believer the more that I think they aren’t bad people at their core they just have been born in to this culture and genuinely think this is the right way to love others and that this is a sound basis for morality

@@juliahouston9446 Not every opinion expressed by every Christian is agreed upon by every Christian. After all, that's why so many churches split and that's why Christianity as a whole has so many different denominations. There are plenty of biblical concepts that are debated upon within the Christian community itself. The same way there are many different political views, Christians also have a lot of differing views, and sometimes these differences of opinion are right within the same household. Even Christian married couples who have been together for 30 plus years have differences of opinion when it comes to certain beliefs. Not every Christian agrees with the "common interpretation of the Christian bible."

hello. I would like you to review and talk about problematic passages of the Bible, regarding slavery, women's rights to learn...thank you.
The only problem with such passages is that some the people of the past greatly misinterpreted and misused/abused them. Unfortunately a few people still do, yet most don’t Ma’am.
Well, people did't "go to school" to begin with. The main problem is people trying to force modern lifestyles into historical contexts

When they were talking about how “what they think is fun” might not be fun to others but it’s okay because they’re happy. That “fun is different for every person”.....I found that to be very interestingly hypocritical when applied to some of their other views, like love.
I disagree with your guys view points on many topics but I do respect how committed you are to your beliefs. It makes sense with what you believe and why but I just have a different perspective. My sister is a believer and I referred you guys to her because I knew she would appreciate it.

I'm a Christian but not married yet, but a Christian marriage/relationship gives the security of having someone by your side, a friend of the other gender, romance, and the ability to be adventurous
You can have all that without being christian, also, being christian and being married does not giv you securit y of that, at the end of the day every marriage , christian or not, can fail.

Regarding the question to Bethany about "trying to be young," I think that age is just the number that represents how many years you've been on this planet. Having a sense of style that is perceived as "young" shouldn't matter. The important thing is to embrace being yourself. If you like bows and frills, enjoy them! Who cares how old you are. What does it matter that your husband is younger than you. It's a blessing that you are married to a younger man who is has the maturity level of someone far beyond his years.

Becchi Christianity is a broad term, but within Christianity, there’s denominations (specific religions that differ from each other in some sort of aspect) like Baptist, Adventist, Methodist, and Mormons etc.

But most people already know about Christianity and so pushing it, to me at least, disrespects their free will and seems more like you're trying to dictate their lives.
@rorygiambalvo2955 I totally agree. I was raised & educated Catholic & practice to this day, but NEVER have I tried to push my religion on others. If they ask questions, I'm more than happy to answer, but never say they have to convert.
I have some friends who recently left the LDS church & they told me that they always appreciated me for the fact I never tried to convert them or condemn them for their beliefs when they were practicing Mormons.

I love that you guys posted this video.. I am not technically a Christian, I am interested in all faiths. Christianity being my extended family's faith (Baptist on my mom's side and Catholic on my dad's, though my dad was anti organized faith and my mom is agnostic). I was raised to believe all religions are valid and to believe whatever feels right. I'm very spiritual, and have some unconventional beliefs, but am at an age and stage that I'd like to become more involved with faith and I'm looking for a l Christian church to attend..
ANYWAY, lol.. I wish that you girls would get more into your views on the LGBT+ community and in particular social issues, because many people are interested. I, personally, have always defended Girl Defined as being a fantastic resource for young women who are finding themselves, even just as a excellent self help/advice channel. And I feel like its important for the Girl Defined brand to shut down alot of these bandwagon critics that don't watch beyond a soundbite or that present quotes out of context. For awhile it seemed quite popular, if not (likely) profitable to criticize Girl Defined without a acknowledging any of the amazing positive works that they've put out.
