I had the greatest opportunity to see The Real EDDIE VAN HALEN twice in one day. They performed at a small venue with a revolving stage in Phoenix az. I was up close and personal (hardly any one was there , as no one knew who Van Halen was) I did 1978 I believe. Eddie was talking to the people out there, he wasn't making any faces he was just having fun. I love these guys following and playing like Eddie but man! I saw the REAL deal. God bless this guitarist covering Eddie, the energy is great but I witnessed the real show. Eddie left a big hole in my heart passing , he couldn't stay long on this Earth. Peace Eddie, you gave me a lot of great memories.

It's not just EVH, the guy's a student of everything guitar. He can play it all. And he writes great originals as well. Very capable singer...only going to get more seasoned vocally. Fuck...just when i thought guitar was getting homogenized from UA-cam tutorials...this guy shuts me up. He's all around the genuine article.....

Probably because he is super good (understatement) at being an Eddie clone.. The kid is awesome but there already is/was an Eddie Van Halen. He needs to cut away and show what he can do without sounding and cloning Van Halen and be his own entity, his own self. There is no question about his ability and talent... jus my 2 cents.. 😉

He has the chops for sure. Love listening to him play. But it just depends on whether he can come up with original music that people like, as all of those other guys did. There's a big difference between Mozart and the guys in the London Symphony Orchestra who recreate his music.
I just randomly came upon this guys videos recently. They were playing some bar. The whole band was very impressive. All talented, exceptional chops and a 3 piece to boot. One of the best cover bands out there among a sea of mediocre and worse bands.

These guys are super talented. When I get stumped on a song I'll sometimes look up the guitarist (Jacob I think) to see what he's doing. They do other covers as well. I heard them cover Deep Purple's Highway Star (might of been Space Truckin'). Either way should not be any thumbs down

I love Jacob, but there is a difference between being able to play it and being able to write it.
I saw many cover bands back in the late 80's that could have covered this without issue talent-wise, but it's taken this long to get it done. Bravo.
