I know this was said but you should not be having breakage. They are either ripping your hair out, or cutting between the parts, or you are just having growth in the thickness of your hair and it’s growing outside of the locs. But breakage is not a normal part of this with healthy hair and it’s dangerous to frame it as such. Be willing to find another stylist if they try to tell you this is normal.
yeah, it might be growth outside of the locs, because even when I was a loose natural my hair would tend to break around the middle part of the front of my head. ive started using mielle hair oil to combat the issue and ever since the video was made I have brought it up to my loctician. thank you so much for you insight and advice!!

I agree with all of these except the save money one 😭😭 if ur not doing ur own hair it can be a struggle money wise especially depending on how many locs u have
i totally get you! that's so true, i was thinking more in comparison to braids and weaves/wigs. because when i used to get braids that would be like 200 dollars every 8 weeks, plus the number of hair products i would buy, tools, etc. but I guess it really does depend on the person!
Your locs are beautiful sis! I’ve been loc’d for 4 years now with 18inches long and I can advice you that your locs are beautiful but a bit too tight… over time you’ll regret becuz those hairs will fall the fk out girl! Be careful!

Your loctician may be retightening your hair too tight. Be careful with this because it can cause balding. You are really beautiful.

It looks like they are tightening your microlocs too much. They look tight. That may be the cause of the breakage, especially if done this way often.
