    gorgeous face and hair. the way your hair grows in those layers is stunning! it's refreshing to hear another loced sister preach on the true freedom of the loced life. i have SL, and i have a profession that allows me to be a digital nomad. the biggest lesson that i learn in every new country is that Everybody. Wants. This. Hair.
    i wish black women everywhere (especially us with the coilier patterns) would understand that this is how we set the table. we should unapologetically showcase the rare element that is our hair. thanks for sharing! 😉

    I completely understand what you mean. It's such an experience to wash my hair in the shower on a whim before I leave the house. It seems like such a small thing but it's major.

    I have micro locs I’m almost 5 months in and yes it’s the best hair decision I could have made o myself. Not only am I embracing my hair texture but also the gray that’s coming in it’s even more beautiful in my micro locs ❤

    My loose natural is easy to deal with as it grows and its soft BUT i have to say my micro locs took me to another level. i love them. i dont see myself ever going loose again.
    Your hair looks awesome.

    I'm about to finish installing around 680 locs with the help of my supermom, free of charge. Having denser hair, I didn't feel the most assured keeping my first set of 340.
    Some time and patience is required to install it ourselves, but with some time set aside for pain/screech-free home retis every 6 weeks or so, I already envision a luminous future of daily ease and care-free naturale that awaits me in the months and years to come.

      Congratulations on your freedom journey!! 👏🏾 Pro tip - the denser your hair is, actually the fewer locs you need. If your hair is really dense, you could even get away with less than 300 and still have a beautiful head of tiny locs and nobody would know if you didn't tell them. I started my daughter out with well over 600. 3 years down the line, I combined them and now I never lose the opportunity to tell others with hair as dense as my daughter's - leave the 400 and above loc count to people who NEED the additional volume if volume isn't an issue for you.

    A-pit-a-me or -o-me. Short A in both parts- like amazing.. I had to try and figure out what word I thought you were saying. It's the correct meaning, but if you meant something else I don't know what It is. I am correcting your pronunciation. I apologize if that makes you feel uncomfortable. Let me know.
    I agree with you I love my braid locs. I keep them up myself and it's the best thing ever for all the reasons you said.
    I know that is not how you spell it but it's how it sounds.

    I feel that my locks save me time as well; when I washed my natural hair weekly I had to keep it styled and the styles never lasted, but I equate natural and locks as the same; however I discovered that I have curly hair and if I would have known that earlier I may have had an easier journey with my natural hair.

    Well, I’m one with thinning hair in the crown area who still got sisterlocks. I saw a Trichologist beforehand who said that I am still a candidate for them because there are things i can do to work on my thin crown. I went ahead and got them and began noticing more thinning after 2 years. I went to see a black dermatologist who told me i will never lose all of my hair because of the type of alopecia i have which is the androgenic type, She suggested I use men’s rogaine which i have been doing now. I had stopped for awhile and noticed additional thinning, so I went back to it. I’m now 4 years locked, still have a thin crown, but I wear my locks all going backwards and it hides most of my thin crown. I’m still working on thickening up my crown area with oils + the rogaine however. With all this going on, I still love my locks and do not want to give them up.

    I want to get sisterlocs or microlocs so bad but my hair is fine and I know I’m going to be self conscious in the beginning months heck maybe the whole first year my hair is short ! But I guess this will just be apart of my journey and I have to embrace it !

    I would go this small if I felt like retwisting or retightening this many but I want to totally maintenance my own hair and not depend on a stylist and I know I wouldn’t feel like tighten so many and taking so long. I want to take an hour and a half at most to retwist my full head. My starter locs are kinda small medium I would guess

    I love my hair and my favorite style is two strand twists and i have been thinking about microlocs for awhile but my only concern is buildup/lint. I notice that when i wear two strand twists there is white stuff in the roots around the nape of my neck and nowhere else. I dont put product on my roots other than shampoo when i wash it. I dont understand why its happening. I sleep on satin pillowcases and tie my hair at night. Is it lotion? Lol did you have this problem? Its the only concern i have.

    Your locs are dainty and nice! Did you say, you are able to use conditioner and oil on your hair? I thought this would cause loc slippage? I have dry scalp need to wash, condition or oil every 2 weeks. Would this work?

    • @isokeno
      @isokeno  Рік тому +1

      I use it sparingly but also go no product at times - just depends on my hair and what my loctician says

    • @isokeno
      @isokeno  Рік тому +1

      I think it depends on your density and how thick your locs are - I could probably wear a curly wig now but a straight wig might be tricky!

    I'm considering microlocs but I was told to be careful as it can thin your hair. I like to wear my hair in buns often so I'm worried about that. Any opinion?

    • @isokeno
      @isokeno  Рік тому +2

      You can definitely wear your hair in buns! I haven’t noticed any thinning but I’m also not predisposed to thinning. I take out my baby locs in the front when I pull my hair back to lessen tension.
