Love the detail how inquisitors get DEATHBLOW message when killed but Flagellant simply disappears as he did in Vestal's flashback, because he can't die in a flashback.
If i had two baubles for every time Flagellant tortured another Hero in the past i'd have two baubles, which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice
Out of all the shrines where gameplay is involved, the mountain theme playing while abomination scrambles to make the antidote fits better than most of the other shrine battles.
@yungbushwookie6832 see we know that cause we play a lot. I could see most newer player( I was guilty of this in my early time too) seeing cool big monster and not even realizing how OP human Abom is.
So you are telling me that Vestal and Abomination tragic past are connected to Flagellant? Man, he really fuck it up other peoples lifes for his search of pain 😅
It wasn't necesseraly a Damian tho, since their religion have some strange... hm, teachings, it's possible what this guy is some other flagellant, following the same path as Damian
@@scorlexd5377 I wonder about that cuz the devs went out of their way not to make it so that when you kill the Torturer, it doesn't display a "DEATHBLOW"
the transformation scene is so cool. I just completed his hero shrine, thanks for posting this. Took me two tries to get it right with the fourth flashback.
Probably one of the most tragic characters in Darkest Dungeon, he did nothing wrong, he's not fucked up like some other heroes and wasn't a bad person either, just a victim of circumstances.
i like the detail at chapter 4,when abomination still human, the monk so brave and confident, thinking he is easy target. when he turn into beast, they become afraid and like" man i regret this shit".they start shitting them self except flagellant,No wonder since flagellant win againt death its self
I thought you can't go more epic than Flagellant's backstory, but then they released Abom... f-n incredible, got goosebumps for 5 minutes straight while watching this.
Well would you look at that. The theory about Bigsby being an alchemist turned out to be right. I really like that he had to confront his past to get enough hang to use his beast form. Very cool.
for some reason i follow your exact video on fourth round and everytime i get stressed and it fails... its really sad and no idea how its failing me :(
Probably just got your stress to 10, just focus on the Flag and wack him to the back rank repeatedly, once your stress hits 3 just Absolution and it should be back up in time to do it again.
@@TheSilvercue I think it might be based on timing, not on hitting Death's Door. The Flagellant took one turn on rounds 1 and 2, but they took an extra turn at the end of round 3 and used Exanguinate. If you survive until then, I think that's when you transform.
The second fight is kind of poorly done. The skills seem to hint at combing them, but you just have to die, and in a specific way by getting Damian to the back. It's all not very clear.
seems clear to me, just make sure you don't get to 10 stress before an time limit that is the torturer using exsanguinate. Why else would the monks have a stress ability that scales and gets reset after being moved.
Ehhh not for me then. There was a skill there that specifically counters and removes the stress buff when they move so I immediately assumed it was a stress management rather than health.
@lordofchangelulz6645 Also, the tune itself just always hits like that. Even when facing the final fight, where it originates, it still hits like that. The difference is that you're facing YOUR OWN insecurities (why else would they be named Denial, Anger, and the like?)
DD2 lore is so ridiculous, these characters are so much better off not having definite backstories. Oh yeah man Flagellant is just... hangin' out... he was the torturer! The one Abom mentions in DD1 as "being tasked with keeping him alive"? What's up with that? Another contradiction, I suppose... I could forgive contradicting throwaway barks from these shallow archetype characters if the new story present was good, but besides illuminating that it was a cursed wound on his shoulder, it's not. Edit: Also, to be a little generous, I will concede that the general presentation here is very strong, particularly the transformation cutscene. I am just routinely disappointed by these new backstories that insist on paving over the fill-in-the-blanks mystery the first game had, instead replacing it with fanservicey crap.
I like these backstories actually, they add some keystone memories for each hero's life and they don't feel fanservicey at all - BTW, I guess you never saw the comics Bourassa made for them in the first game or you wouldn't have made this comment lol
This truly was Wayne June's last howl...
*"One last howl. One final scream."*
It hits so much different now.
Inhuman Bondage and Kingdom were his last performances to us.
I still can't believe he's actually gone...
:(
Love the detail how inquisitors get DEATHBLOW message when killed but Flagellant simply disappears as he did in Vestal's flashback, because he can't die in a flashback.
At this point, I think he can't die in general, he'll just beat back death again
gameplay wise it is a pain in the ass, but story wise I love it. It’s him somewhat coming to terms with his affliction and coming to accept it.
Wait it really IS him or what?
If i had two baubles for every time Flagellant tortured another Hero in the past i'd have two baubles, which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice
You'd have 4 baubles.
I like how the monks change their animations when in beast form. Really cool
Out of all the shrines where gameplay is involved, the mountain theme playing while abomination scrambles to make the antidote fits better than most of the other shrine battles.
Having to go through 4 reflections before you can make him transform is wild
I imagine it's so people actually use the human kit some. I bet there's a lot of DD1 players that only use Abom for just his beast kit.
@@ehoffart529the other way around actually
hype
@@ehoffart529 I'd imagine it's the opposite. Human form is so useful in DD1 that it's rare to need to transform.

That has to be the most dramatic gathering of ingredients I've seen in a game
Thanksgiving simulator

i dont think this was his choice he is just there for the pain LOL
He really is one magnificent arse and we love him for it
I think he believes pain can deliver salvation to other people as he did to himself.

I love the little animation they did on transformation. So cool
so this is Bigby before his barber butchered his haircut
Nah his current cut is pretty clean but his before hair cut yeesh
the transformation scene is so cool. I just completed his hero shrine, thanks for posting this. Took me two tries to get it right with the fourth flashback.
"One last Howl. One final scream." So simple yet so chilling
Damn Flaggy REALLY loves his job. Abomination and Vestal really hates him now
Man red hook didint cook, they seasoned, marinated ,and served on a diamond platter

Damn bro
This mf did nothing wrong he just got his shit fucked up by an experiment
I wonder if Abomination remembers Flaggelant.
Maybe there will be a new team, known as "Victims of Pain". 😔
the flagellant again?!
That surprised me at first, I'm not sure if that's actually him or just another generic torturer though
Only torturer who is able use sepsis is flagellant and when u kill him it doesnt say "DEATHBLOW" like other enemies, its %100 him
Flagellant really coming off less and less sympathetic with each new hero lol
@@holidayfruit probably is Flagellant, i dont think there is more people that can use the power of LITERAL PAIN 😅
@@holidayfruit is probably a different one since their face is covered but it's hard to say.
They gave him a severe case of gooner arm
The monks had it comin for ruinin my guy's hair like that
so does anyone think it was one of the beast men from the new kingdom update that bit him ?
Most likely? He looks like them in beast form…
Oh absolutely.
Love the progression of the character animations during the skill earning screen.
R.I.P. Wayne June
Flag sure gets around. That's two heroes hes scarred now?
One more hero needs to be introduced so there's a party just called the train of pain
Ah, so this was the moment bigby turned into Mr Beast
I'll trust Bigby over Mr. Beast any day

Now we know his full story
Hello, Demian))
for some reason i follow your exact video on fourth round and everytime i get stressed and it fails... its really sad and no idea how its failing me :(
I think you have to stall the monks, try stunning them before their turn and absolute before your sanity gets too low
I've done the exact same. Failed 5 times in a row. So fucking fed-up
Thank You

When I was doing Survive the Inquisition - it just stopped for some reason and I failed...no idea what I did wrong.

Of course, it's Damian's fault again.
What is the song name in the background??
"Battle of The Mountain" by Stuart Chatwood

What the h**l is with this background music? Just for preparing a potion? 😂
