    I do like the styling of these. Very understated and elegant. Need a car with a boot though...

      Yes, this one has been sold now, so I suspect that it was sorted before the new owner bought it.

    I love old Volvos (and Saabs)...just about all of them really, and have particularly respected their commitment to road safety (having worked in A&E for most of my working life, and seen the aftermath of car accidents). I've owned a 440, 460, and S40 over the years, and I think I'd like to go for one again at some point (an older one/classic) - just not sure which (it would be mainly for nostalgia reasons now). This C70 is good-looking, and "cheerful" in my opinion (in and out) - not surprised it's sold!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes, we know about the 460s! Not many 440s and 460s around, and they are quite difficult cars to price, as not many people want them, apart from a few enthusiasts. These C70s are surprisingly cheap, actually, but they can have a lot of problems. I have a 2004 V40 coming up at some point, and we are due a six month ownership report on the S40 next month. I have reviewed so many Volvos on the channel now that I am sure that I am going to be accused of bias at some point...

      @@lloydvehicleconsulting Great - I shall look forward to the V40 video and S40 report then. I suppose we all have our own "biases" based on one thing or another - quite normal.

    I had two Volvo C70s, both coupés. My favourite was a 2.3 T5 GT auto in its signature launch colour, metallic orange. Mobility issues made it impractical for me though and I sold it in 2015; I see from DVLA that it's still on the road! 🙂

      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      These aren't really cars that are best for anyone who has difficulty getting in and out. I understand why you felt that you needed to sell it. The colour of the second one is Saffron, and I drove a T5 Manual Coupé in that colour in 2022, actually.

    • @AHoundOnAHonda

      @@lloydvehicleconsulting Ah yes, Saffron... I'd forgotten that! 👍 - Here's mine for anyone wondering what that colour is like... i.ibb.co/jDQjWkL/c70.jpg

    Not so keen on the cabs because of skuttke shake and rattles. Interesting though to see none the less, still would rather the coupe or the not so sensible v70 ;). Great video as per!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes sir, my choice would probably be an S70, actually. The scuttle shake wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be, actually, and it did remind me of what good cars these can be for not much money. I do still prefer the Coupé, though!

  • @zzhughesd
    @zzhughesd 6 місяців тому

    One of these upset you sir, sadly. just a one off, all modern classics cannot be great, never knew they were leaky ( oil )

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      Yes, sadly, sir, the T5s can have that issue, which is why I have not bought another one. The light pressure turbo models are not nearly as prone to it, so those tend to be the ones I now recommend.

    • @zzhughesd
      @zzhughesd 6 місяців тому

      Very good point Joseph. I've always liked the C70, think has to be the coupe, though@@lloydvehicleconsulting

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      @@zzhughesd , yes, I prefer the coupé myself as well. There seem to be more of the cabriolets left, however.

    I don't know😂why the steering lock is so bad, probably because of the massive wheels and tyres fitted to T5 model.
    The scuttle shake is nothing compared to an old SAAB 900 convertible or even the 900/93 model .
    The engine sounds lovely at idle.
    I do understand why people buy Mercedes Benz cars but there is no reason to choose a BMW or an Audi over an equivalent Volvo.
    Love Volvo Driver's Seats.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      The steering lock was awful on mine as well, seems to be the case with all Mark I C70s. The scuttle shake was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting! We do like a nice five cylinder Volvo engine, sir, don't we?

    • @seancooke7332

      I do speak as a former repeat Volvo very long term owner and now 5 year Audi owner. I would have another Volvo without any problem.
      I will also add that the Audi Dealership in Belfast took over the local Volvo Dealership about four years ago and are very proud to supply both Makes.
