    Worth mentioning around the Hemlok is the fact that respawn have mentioned that they think the G7 and now the 30-30 aren't really assault rifles, but rather 'Marksman' rifles. They could be trying to push the Hemlok towards that category in order to have enough guns for a new weapon class.

    I genuinely like the mozambique, with hammer point it’s a beast. Spray your volt/r99 and then weapon switch to mozambique for a one shot body shot. Not the most meta thing but it works very consistently for me.

      Yeah I like to run it with the flatline. It’s super reliable to finish enemies.
      If I didn’t like snipers so much I’d use it all the time

      It’s a good start but I don’t think there’s any justification for using the Mozambique for that start instead of the hammond. It has more ammo in mag, more accuracy at range, more range period, and more consistency.

      @@Crunchy166 the mozambique has a higher unshielded DPS because of its burst damage, I find it way more reliable than the p20. Just an opinion tho

      @@CaptainStereo If it works better for you then fair enough I guess. I play on controller so my aim with the mozam is sometimes a bit shoddy but I have a great trigger ringer so I can spam the p20 very well.

    Call me crazy, but I actually enjoyed watching this whole thing. I really appreciate your critiques of the game from a high-level design perspective. It's something that a lot of other content creators miss when they appraise/review aspects of Apex, or a lot of games in general. You back up your "hot takes" with actual arguments and remain consistent with them. Even when you bring up something as unusual as saying that no legends should have any wallhack abilities at all (an opinion that I have heard literally no one else talk about but maybe I'm just ignorant), it's still really interesting to hear your thoughts on why that is. I would MUCH rather see more discussions from long-form videos like this one than reading a random reddit post complaining about something for the millionth time.
    Edit: To add on to how Bangalore is in a really bad place at the moment, digital threat sights/scopes - do they really need to be in the game? They're supposed to be "legendary tier" but I don't think anyone is really excited to find them. People are either ambivalent toward them or actively avoid them due to their favoring of the 1x HCOG. It seemingly serves no purpose other than to counter the legend who is already the most-countered by other legends, lol.

      About your Bangalore piece and the Digi threat, I personally prefer the DT on r9, volt, wingman, 2020, re, and I would love it if I could put it on a flatline. It's a sight that isn't for everyone, but I personally almost always pick it up unless I'm having a day where other sights are mint. Having DT to me is more a strength to Bangalore than it is a detriment. If you can get a DT setup playing as Bangalore she has one of if not the highest solo potential in the game. Not many people pick it up, and even if they do it's extremely rare to find more than 1 person on a squad running it. So being able to play your own smoke better makes it very strong when you're playing Bangalore. It is a counter absolutely. But it's also a part of one of the strongest combinations I have found in this game. DT sniper scope should be absolutely trashed. I would love to see a sniper scope with a small profile that comes in 4-6x in its place as a legendary or purple scope. Main reason people don't put sniper optics on their rifles is because the profile is so massive it takes up half the screen. The other reason being far too much zoom to the point of it being nearly useless in 90% of situations. Remove sniper DT and replace it with a scope with small profile and low zoom, or perhaps even a sniper scope that has 3-4 ranges instead of just 2 to account for those 10% of situations where it's helpful. Maybe a 4-6-8 scope or something like that.

    If I were king of Respawn: Push back hard on the utterly OBSCENE skin prices and lootbox quality values. I love this game, but a skin for a character and nothing more shouldn't cost the same as an indie game.

    I’d love to see some kind of change to the alternator that would change the feel of the gun. Like perhaps reduce the base damage but allow you to duel fire it. Or maybe perfect hipfire like the titanfall days.

    I really love to hear your opinions on this type of stuff, and I completely agree with the AR part, people want more close range options, I find myself using an SMG like 90% of my games, and I guess that explains why people really liked the Volt addition to the game, even if it was borderline broken, well sorta, so yeah, I hope there's more close range stuff

    I think a good idea to improve the Bique and p20 life cycle is just to make hammerpoint built into these two guns with an appropriate damage scaling down, meaning that at least the two guns are really good if you found it early in a hot drop but it's not that good to take later on because of the lower base and slightly lower hammerpoint damage

    Isn't Rampart supposed to mod weapons and stuff yet she doesn't do any of that. I think she should be able to use any sight on any gun and be able use every hop up universally, for example you can convert a quick draw into a skullpeircer.

      Agreed, and I feel like her passive is waaaay too specific. Maybe having better bonuses on attachments like barrel mods and stocks would be a better passive.

      yeah like I feel like she should have a passive that lets her get unique interactions with crafters. Like, let her directly print any ammo type she wants, let her transmute ammo of one type to another, let her have more freedom for equipping weird optics on guns (4-8x g7 scout, 1x digi R-301, etc)
      maybe even let her, for a lot of crafting materials, select a "rampart special" crafting option where you throw your gun into the crafter and then it pops out with maxed out attachments!

    I hate the hipfire nerf for the hemlock, but I think it's healthy for the game. On console, the aim assist is pretty strong with the hipfire on the hemlock. Many people ran the hemlock because it was so versatile.

    To your point around 27:00 about some weapons becoming how they were in the event, white blue and purple, those could instead of being drops be randomly selected a tier and put into the explosive holds. I believe that it would create another level of depth to the explosive vaults instead of blowing them up, looking at the ground for 5 seconds then deciding “wow that was absolute garbage” and moving on.

    Your take on switching the PK and Mastiff regularly made me consider the following: I know Respawn doesn't want to remove weapons completely to not anger players who bought skins, but what if they divide the loot pool across maps? e.g. KC gets the Mastiff, P2020, Volt, while the PK, Mastiff, R99 are exclusively found on Olympus.

    Here's what I would do with Mirage. Not necessarily to make him balanced, but to make him at least extremely fun to play (for me).
    1. Passive: Holo Generator
    Mirage passively gains charges to his Tactical ability, maxing out at 3. Holo Generator also charges up Mirage's Tactical faster when his decoys are killed.
    When no charges are held Holo Generator generates one at 2x the normal buildup speed. This is so that Mirage can save up his decoys to still create a big confusion like his old ultimate (more on that below), but only if he saves up for a long time. The faster regen on charge 0 is so that he can have a steady stream of simple decoy uses. Having decoy kills fuel more decoys is to reward clever play and enable more big scale ultimates (again more on that later).
    2. Tactical: Decoy (v2)
    He can create a decoy just like normal, but when he does the player can choose to hold or press the activation to either spawn to the right or the left of his current position. The copy will pick the spot that wasn't selected. This way the decoy can be used as a mini-teleport mid fight to throw people off, but also give you control over where you end up in relation to the decoy so its not always sent straight ahead of you. Furthermore the decoy can be controlled directly by holding/toggle (extra options plz Respawn) and mimics Mirage 1:1. Right now there's issues where the decoy turns at different rates and shit, which makes it super hard to maneuver it round obstacles and so on in a convincing way to bamboozle people.
    3. Ultimate: Who Am I?
    Mirage swaps place with his current decoy, or the one he's aiming at if there's more than one alive. If more are alive and the player doesn't aim at one he swaps with the closest one. All alive Decoys+Mirage himself play a quick animation and sound cue that can be seen/heard by enemies, letting them know that the swap has taken place. If Mirage holds the button for his ultimate he stays in place, but still procs the animation and has 25% of his Ultimate charge refunded. Theoretically Mirage could place a decoy in a location in hiding only to then swap back to it as well, making it an extremely handy get-out-of-jail-card, but also something that can be ambushed if people find his decoys and let them live.
    All in all my goal with this kit would be that Mirage is a constant source of uncertainty. By giving him abilities that let him swap places and better control his decoys, while also gaining some slight combat utility with short and placable teleportations, a good Mirage player could cause tons of chaos and confusion to give their team the upper hand.

    Y' might not particularly enjoy making these long-form discussion videos on Apex, but smokes alive do I ever enjoy them. It is neat listening to the perspective of someone more in tune with meta decision-making and very different weapon tastes than I.
    Honestly, a Devo that is improved by scavenging "batteries" off of other Devos could be pretty fun. Playing off the weapon's name and theme, devoting one's efforts to seeking out and ripping components off other Devos could be both unique as far as weapon mechanics, and have a super spicy animation. As for effect? More batteries: Higher fire rate! Or maybe expending batteries to fire more than is in the clip (which could come with some awesome, loud SFX and more spicy animations.)
    Also yay someone talking about Octane animation priority. The number of times I have died because silly Stim toss animation is apparently more important than MELEE hurts me.

    Because I was sitting at work, not doing much, and watched the whole video.....
    If I were King of Respawn:
    - Havok / Devotion - Make their delay somewhere between what it is with and without the Turbo Charger, and get rid of the Turbo Charger all together.
    - 30-30 - needs a faster fire rate, or something.... anything. It's crap! - Worst gun in the game.
    - R301 & R99 - I would slightly increase the recoil (maybe only the hipfire spread) just to change it up a bit.
    - Longbow - Needs a major buff. It used to be the King of Snipers, and it's time to get that title back. Faster ADS, more damage per shot, and get rid of the SP all together.
    - Triple Take - It's currently really powerful and annoying. I'd change the choke to take a little longer to charge to make those consistent accurate long range, high damage shots take a little longer to be able to follow up with.
    - Mastiff - Nerf it again! The last one didn't work!
    - Mozambique - I'd give it the Hammer Points by default and make it a 3 shot again, since it has 3 barrels.
    - P2020 - Get rid of the hammer points, and make this the starting default weapon when you drop in with a 1x sight. (1x sight is for everyone to have on drop if they feel guns like the Flatline are pay to win. This way everyone gets a free sight for any gun they pick up)
    - Peacekeeper & Prowler - Put back as floor loot and put them both back to their pre care package levels. But PK still has choke by default and Prowler has select fire by default.
    - Wingman - As the most satisfying and one of my favorite guns to kill with.... I'd get rid of the extended mags because it's a F&$%ing REVOLVER! I'd make it 6 shots only. Get rid of the Skull Piercer all together but give it a slightly higher damage per shot and +50% headshot damage. I'd also give it a lot more bullet drop because a pistol doesn't have the bullet velocity of a rifle so it needs more bullet drop than other guns. This will help it to be used more for closer range than as a pocket sniper.
    Lifeline - Her Passive - I'd get rid of her shield but make her drone revive teammates faster. This would require teammate to get in a safer position instead of allowing Lifeline to have a better version of Rampart barricades when out in the open. Her Ultimate - I'd change her care package to more of a Support Replicator. She calls in a Replicator that has Level 3 shields, helmets, backpacks, knockdown shields, 2 batteries, 2 med kits, 2 heat shields, and a mobile respawn. Only 3 items can be picked and no duplicates and no Gold items. Her cooldown would need to be increased but this would be a huge improvement. Maybe even limit the benefit of Ultimate Excelerants.
    Pathfinder - he needs a slightly faster Tactical cooldown to make him better. He needs a real passive. The main change I'd make it that the zip line bases need to be able to be destroyed.
    Bangalore - she should be able to see enemies through her smoke at a minimum. Her Ultimate needs to be stronger. She's supposed to be the offensive legend and all her abilities are defensive while Gibby is supposed to be a defensive legends and his ULT is more offensive than Bangalores. I say switch the Ultimates to make Gibby drop down a tier and bring Bangalore up a tier.
    Loba - should be able to grab banners from her Ultimate.
    Rampart - Her barricades are too weak. Make the bases quite a bit stronger, and make the tops slightly stronger. Charged Sentinels and Arc star should destroy the top with one hit, but no bleed through. If the barricades become OP, take away the amped damage when shooting out of the barricades. It's not really needed. She already gets to shoot you before you can shoot her. Alone she's not that great, but pairing her with the right Legends, she can be really useful.
    I (respectfully) disagree with you on the....
    - Hemlok - It currently fits its role. Being a burst/single fire gun it's meant to be a mid-long range weapon. They nerfed it because it was too good at all ranges. I loved it for that reason but it does fit its role now and I'm okay with that even though I rarely pick it up now. It's still one of the best mid range weapons.
    - Spitfire - it's really good right now, especially with gold mags....
    - Bloodhound - the wall hacks are great to have in the game as some form to prevent corner campers. I think Bloodhound is the main reason you don't hear about campers the way you do in COD. Now maybe the cooldown should be a little longer than it is.

      In your opinion, you want it to be good at mid/long, bad close. In my vision, I would want it to be good at close/mid, and not as good long. Maybe this got lost in my scriptless rambling, but this is the core of what I would like. Give it the hipfire back, worsen the recoil a bit, perhaps find a way to make the recoil even exist on controller. Then maybe you could go so far as to take away the single fire, because the Hemlok has never been a semi-auto weapon historically. In TF1 and TF2 it was always a burst gun. I feel like they should bring select fire back and go the complete opposite direction -- select fire gives you TF1 starburst and otherwise single fire is completely inaccessible on the gun

      @@FrothyOmen I actually used it more in single fire than I did in burst, except in close range where I needed to hip fire. I personally liked it the way it was before the latest nerf as it was one of my most used guns but a gun that is burst/single fire should be better at mid-long ranges rather than close-mid range. It's not so much what I want, it's what makes sense for how its supposed to be used. If you where to remove the single fire, give it more ADS recoil, and revert the last burst nerf.... It could be a close-mid range gun and be great at that, but the R301, Flatline, all the SMGs (especially the Prowler), and even the LMGs already fit that role. Having an AR that's more mid-long range is good for variety. IMO

    I've always suggested giving Bangalore electric smoke canisters instead of her regular smoke. Just like in titanfall. She's supposed to be a zoner and having smoke be both offensive and defensive would help her not be so bad.

    Loved the video! Your long "frothy-cast" category has always been high up there for me in your discography.
    I've always agreed with you on the Eva-8, great weapon! Always has been, I haven't gotten around to trying titanfall but it looks soo slick and just amazing to use. I love it in tf2 as well, but it seems to be more of a powerhouse of a weapon in the original, when I watch your tf videos it looks like it packs a heavy-ass punch.
    Hopes the moving goes well! I'm guessing - and hoping - that you're in fact moving to your gf state? Since you've mentioned that she lives across the country, that's the most reasonable thing at least. Have a great day! :-)

    I like all your takes, agree with most of them. Only comment I would add/intrude is on Rampart cause she's my main - I think you're absolutely right that Sheila and the amp walls have to be bad to be healthy in the game. If I were going to buff her it would be in breadth of utility rather than depth on the camping her tac/ult promotes; her passive is where to do that.
    So I'd say either 1) do what you suggested for Bangalore with the reload speed/mag size. Makes her general gunplay just a little bit better and makes up for the lack of useful abilities in non-campy gunfights. Or 2) streamline the looting game on her, perhaps by giving her the effect of purple hopups free. Another idea I had was to make weapons act like their attachment slots are one level higher; empty acts like white, blue acts like purple, etc. I'm sure there's a third option that would give her better team utility/synergy I haven't thought of as well; upgrading teammates' weapon attachments on a cooldown maybe.

    The Lstar is my favorite gun in the game but it does need a buff. First thing is to give it the digital threat, like back when it was in the care package. Second give it an extended energy mag, I believe right now it has 22 bullets and that is not enough. So I say it 20 base, 22 level 1, 24, then 26 or 28. And lastly fix the no reg on it, you will get no reg more on the Lstar than any other gun and I think it is because the bullet is bigger.

    as a caustic main i have noticed a change in peoples behavior to the gas and i get pushed a lot more as if the gas isnt even there, its just not as much of a threat and is no longer a deterrent to people with full heath.
    also hopup for mozam that allows duel wielding would be good i think, low ammo count means high burst of damage but very brief, a single one is enough to remove a full red shield so the other should be enough to finish someone off. i think that would make it enough to be viable to defend yourself.

    Good vid bro, agreeing with alot of points! Especially that more guns have to be close range viable. Regarding the spitfire, i'm masters like every season and this weapon is a problem imo. In the high tier endgames you put yourself at a disadvantage by not using it. Giving it slightly more recoil would be a good update for it i think. But just like your vid, this is my observation :). Keep up the grat content!

    I agree about Mirage. I think it's perfectly fine to have fun characters that aren't meta defining. He could use maybe one more team focused ability (like make the icon that appears when people shoot his decoys a bit more noticable), but he's still popular for 90% of the game which is what matters

    I wish you said more on Wattson, was really looking forward to ur opinion on her bc I feel like she's strong, but she feels like underwhelming, its kinda weird. She has her "im op" moments, then others i feel like why would i choose her over caustic (pre-nerf) or gibby. Other than that, I basically agree with a lot of your opinions on stuff. Especially the changes to the loot pool/ making the devo/p2020/mozam those guaranteed spawns in certain areas. I think that would be an interesting change. Ive been screaming for a reduced loot pool for ages and this is 1 change I support 100%. Id also love to see the Mastiff/Pk swapped a lot too. Its kinda boring only seeing mastiff, and only seeing pk. It would be cool to have more variety in the shotgun meta game. And I kinda support your hypothesis where, if people has less muscle memory with both, they'd feel less overbearing. But obviously we'd have to see how that plays out.... And thats my 2 cents on basically the points i found the most interesting or whatever. great video, i love these long videos, reminds me of the TF2 tier list days hahahah.

    ~Repeater should be an energy weapon bc there is no mid-long range energy weapon, but you can tap with Hemlok and Flatline already, especially with anvil. There didn’t need to be a third mid range heavy weapon. Plus the charge up aspect would make way more logical sense.
    ~Select fire for Havoc, Prowler, G7 & Eva. Double tap and Select fire are the same concept so make it one hop up.
    ~Hemlok bring back the hipfire but increase the burst recoil so that it’s decent at short but burst isn’t just OP at mid. Keep single tap though.
    ~Havoc can equip turbocharger and select fire simultaneously
    ~Alternator and Longbow should have a heavy ammo conversion hop up. Press fire mode and it reloads your gun with heavy ammo. Alternator would fire slower but increase damage and Longbow would decrease damage but increase rate of fire. Adds versatility to Longbow and offers the Alternator durability.
    ~Bring the prowler back. Volt or R99 every game gets repetitive.
    ~L-star needs mag support so that it can fire longer before overheat and at the very least lets you carry an energy mag.
    ~care package the mastiff, don’t bring back the choke so PK is purely a shotgun.
    ~remove skullpiercer, buff longbow headshot damage a little.
    ~Care package the r301. It’s time.
    ~Rampart should ads move much faster with lmgs.

    Honestly I don't see why Respawn shouldn't just let us choose between Iron Sights, HCOG and Holo Sights in the customisation menus for each weapon. This would solve the P2W skin issue and give people the option of choosing the Sights they prefer. Obviously Sights that offer zoom levels or heat vision and stuff should still be exclusive as loot within the game.

    I really agree with you that there are so many long range guns, especially since a the lmgs and hemlock hipfire got huge nerfs it really degrades the variety in the game. You need an eva, r99 or mastiff for close range and then pick 1 of like 20 long range weapons that are mostly meh

    The 30-30 is a good long range gun. It's like a gun that has built in anvil but you can never change it. Nobody says the flatline is bad but they would if you had to keep it single fire with an anvil.

    I would like to see the loot pool just cleaned up. Remove certain hop-ups like skull piercer, and quick draw. Remove helmets and rebalance headshot multiplers. Remove sniper stocks and just have normal stocks.

    I agree on the Repeater being in dire need of help, and putting a golden Wingman into the carepackage.
    For all intends and purposes, the Repeater is a worse Wingman without the great mobilty.
    Comparing Wingman *vs* 30-30 Repeater
    *Damage* : 45 (x2[.25*]) dmg *vs* 42 (x1.75) dmg ; ~1s charge time for 57 (=135%) dmg.
    *Rate of fire* : 156 rpm *vs* 140 rpm (~60 rpm charging)
    *Reloading* : 2.1s per "mag" (6/7/8/9 bullets) *vs* 0.33s per 1 shot (6/8/10/12 bullets) --> ~2s up to ~4s for complete reloads
    *Mobility* : 100% ADS movespeed *vs* 35% ADS movespeed
    *Recoil* : Vertical for both, though the 30-30 has a stronger upwards kick
    I couldn't find a reliable source for ADS or swap times; though generally, Pistols have a deploy time of ~0.3s and ARs have a deploy time of ~0.6s.
    (not exact, but) Quickdraw Holster is basically equivalent to a T3 Stock while additionally improving hipfire accuracy.
    *tl:dr: essentially the Wingman outperforms the 30-30 in all categories*
    The 30-30 Repeater struggles, even if it didn't have to compete against Wingman. The slow ADS is a fatal flaw against SMGs and shotguns; and other ARs outperform the Repeater at mid to long ranges.
    The charge mechanic also is more bait than it's actually worth, measily boosting dmg by 35% while reducing rpm by more than half.
    And finally, the low velocity makes it unreliable at distances a slow firing, high damage per bullet rifle would be good at.
    I would like to believe that vaulting the Wingman would let the 30-30 shine, but it has more problems than that.

    Just a reminder Crypto's ult already does a shell shock effect.
    I think the ring of Fire just needs to be scary to run out of. So basically you either stay and fight/wait it out or you run out and get burned. Being able to just jump over the fire makes it super weak

    LMG hoppup that goes with your idea, Lightweight chassis gives assault rifle movement speed while not ads and no penalty for ads if you have the hoppup you dont trade it in for a now inferior flatline

    in regards to rampart, i think one of her issues, that can be fixed without breaking her or making major changes, is that there is WAY too much muzzle flash when firing the minigun through amped cover; can't see what you are shooting at or how much to lead by. Also maybe a turret bullet velocity buff as well could be good. these are ways of buffing her that would do nothing to radically change how she is played but at least it might make using the turret slightly more viable. right now the best thing to do with the turret is to not use it; you are generally better off just using a gun through the amped cover to actually hit something.

    Pausing 1 hour in after finishing the weapon portion of the video to type my thoughts as a pretty good console player.
    I agree with most of your opinions, and as always great video Frothy.
    Care package the Wingman, maybe with a soft buff so people don't cry too much.
    Also think the Prowler should be nerfed and put back on the ground as floor loot, this would also bring back the select fire hop-up, effectively soft buffing the Havoc.
    Replacing the Prowler in care packages would be a fully decked out R-301, anvil receiver included, maybe with a soft magazine or recoil buff as well.
    Love the Masstif/Peacekeeper rotation idea, that's pure gold. Yes please.
    I think the idea for the P2020, Mozambique, and Devotion are also great ideas. Maybe a guaranteed spawn location (like vaults, etc.) for each but they are fully kitted gold versions. I'm a huge fan of Devo and Hammerpoint P20 so I would still build them if given the option but I definitely understand the sentiment. 95% of players avoid them for the exact reasons you mentioned, so guaranteed gold versions could make certain drops more exciting too.
    I think the Alternator is still an attachment holder for the R99, and I'd like to see that change. Maybe a soft magazine buff for the Alternator that could make it a little more reliable for players that have trouble one-clipping people with an R99.
    The Hemlock is my favorite gun in the game since day 1, loved it in both Titanfall games as well. The hip-fire nerf sucks bad, I like it being the jack of all trades and master of none, the only other gun that feels like that is the R301 and it's just too forgiving in my opinion (especially with aim assist). I wouldn't have changed the Hemlock at all, full-auto weapons shouldn't beat burst and semi-auto weapons in TTK because full-auto is easier to use.
    L-Star needs something weird that it becomes really good at, or a strong hop-up to make it viable. Also its muzzle flash is ridiculous making it very hard to track targets, on top of terrible ADS recoil. I just hip-fire until I can drop it for a Volt.
    As for the Spitfire, it feels great right now on console. A hop-up that could buff it on PC could be a "side grip". This would take away the ability to fully ADS, instead replacing it with a 75% more accurate hip-fire that allows for near full strafe speed even while zoomed in and firing. This would be toggled like a select fire and could be visually indicated by the player model adjusting their grip to the side of the weapon. This hop-up could also help the L-Star or Devotion while letting players feel like Rambo in their FPS game.
    30-30 would become better with the Wingman in the care package but some buffs are also in order. Give it better hip-fire, better bullet velocity, and maybe make it good at something weird again like in air accuracy.
    All the same buffs should apply to the G7, also personally I miss double-tap, especially before they nerfed it. With Anvil 301 in the game, there is no point in using this weapon anymore, which makes me sad because I want to love the G7 again, the G2 has been my baby in every Titanfall game and it just feels neutered now.
    I'd like to see disruptor rounds added back to the Sentinel, instead of the flat damage buff. It made more sense lore wise and it was a deeper game mechanic especially with evo shields. It would also make replicators more useful by proxy. Also buff the flat damage to 75, even if you have to reduce the headshot multiplier a bit. Make the Sentinel feel beefy like a bolt-action sniper should. Even fully charged that would still require 3 body shots to down anything above white shields, that's more than fair.
    Buff the Longbow damage to 60 and remove skullpiercer, or completely rework it from the ground up. Too many single fire weapons outclass it and it falls off against red evo shields.
    R99 and Volt are currently kings of the meta, which is ok. Soft nerfs to the R99 specifically wouldn't bother me, like adding a bit more recoil. But other than that, they're fine, the small magazines make it difficult to outplay multiple enemies even if your movement is perfect so I'm ok with them.
    I'd also like to see more unique weapons and hop-ups added full-stop. Burst-fire pistols, suppressors, dual-wielding guns, a healing weapon, some of Titanfalls grenadier weapons, some powerful melee weapons, etc. Some of these maybe "bad for the game" or whatever but at least it'll add some variety, put them in LTM's, and maybe diversify the loot pool per map (ex: no Flatlines and Charge Rifles spawn in Kings Canyon this week), to make the weapon distribution feel better.

      After finishing the video, I disagree with your opinions on legend balance. The legends are the most balanced they've ever been. I'd buff Pathfinder and Bangalore by adding new passives and reducing tactical cooldowns. I'd fix sounds on the jump pad and gravity lift. Maybe buff or rework Lifelines ultimate. Maybe give Mirage another passive. But that's it, honestly, Caustic and Rampart need to stay weak for the good of the game, everything else is in a pretty decent spot.
      Edit: I definitely forgot, buff Lobas tactical for sure.

    A big qualm I have with Loba is that her job is too reliant on her ult, her passive is fairly limiting considering how important blue stuff is to the game, especially batteries, medkits, bruisers, backpacks; yet she cannot point her team towards said stuff without spamming her ult, even cells and syringes she cannot get to her team.
    The removal of white loot would actually be a big buff considering it’d increase purples and higher and would make blue stuff not as desirable. But even then I still think she should be able to open extended bins, and that some blue items (at least blue heals) should be added to her passive for her to actually be able to consistently provide her team with heals that aren’t phoenixes.

    What do you think about a legend that incorporates Titanfall movement like wall running and slide hopping in some way? Maybe they could be an ex pilot? Possibly have wall running as their passive and enable slide hopping as their tactical. It would probably be great as character to teas Titanfall 3 if and when it comes out.

    Bang smoke should just ignore all of the wallhacking abilities and maybe make that her niche. And maybe have it so players hiding in the smoke don't get detected by wallhack abilities. A sleight of hand ability that Frothy mentioned sounds pretty nice to considering bangalore's lore (badumtss)

    Great video, lots of great thoughts put out there.
    I do think, however, that the presumption of a stronger loot pool so that gunfights are even on the drop is not necessarily a better loot pool. I know you didn't literally say it yourself, but you seem to think that if more guns were overall better and more applicable in different situations then people would have more fun and the game itself would be more skill expressive, which sounds like a nightmare to newcomers and casuals. The things you don't describe, constantly being surrounded by enemies that might be stronger than you and electing to flee or hide, running from pursuers who are dead bent on cashing you in for KP, having better loot than someone who's better than you and beating them, those are very important parts of a battle Royale game. They're silly and chaotic and not what people immediately think when people evoke an image of a game looking its best.
    I know a lot of the other games you cover lean towards arena shooters and the like, so I can understand from you (and many pros) that a fairer game overall with solid weapons, looser weapon tiers, and a rigid framework for legend balance would appeal to you, but the open ended and inconsistent nature of the gameplay, the logic behind the gunplay (sure a g7 versus a wingman is disadvantageous for the g7, but the g7 can have a butt stock and 4x sights so should it be able to consistently duel a pistol in all drop scenarios?), and the legend interaction, is what makes it so approachable.
    There are fairer games, much more competitive ones I'd add, that scare people away. Apex is unique in the fact that it's a gunplay intensive shooter that still manages approachability, and the hardest thing to admit for most people is that the things that make the game approachable are things that more serious gamers actively hate.

    Oh what about something like a "gyro stabilizer" hop up for the Spitfire? It could do something along the lines of the longer you sustain fire while in ads, the less recoil the gun gets, along with a slight increase in strafe speed due to the stabilization.     Just my quick opinions that no one asked for. Keep in mind I play on console and this is just the weapons:
    Assault Rifles
    HAVOC: Needs barrel mods. Anvil receiver maybe?
    FLATLINE: Barrel mods
    G7 SCOUT: No change. We've heard rumors of a DMR class being added. This is a good contender for a rework
    HEMLOCK: Good for midrange. No change
    R-301: Incredibly balanced. No change ever please
    30-30 REPEATER: Rework to made into a DMR
    SMGs
    Alternator: Good gun. No change
    PROWLER: Decrease mag size and put it back in ground loot
    R-99: VERY good. Slightly increase mag size. Like level 3 mag is at 30. Just a few extra bullets
    VOLT: Again, VERY good. Increase mag size. Around 30
    LMGs
    DEVOTION: Slightly decrease recoil. Even with a level 3 barrel, it sucks to shoot this thing.
    L-STAR: A niche weapon. Lack of attachments hurts this thing I think. Again, recoil is a bit rough
    SPITFIRE: The best LMG. Personally wouldn't change anything
    Snipers
    CHARGE RIFLE: Strange weapon. Originally an anti titan weapon in TF. I just don't know with this thing
    LONGBOW DMR: Takes too much to kit it out for what it does. Never liked the visual kick of this thing. Another contender for that DMR rework treatment (it's in the name)
    KRABER: Gun go boom
    SENTINEL: Baby Kraber. Slow but punchy. Good for knocking shields. I don't use it much, but I wouldn't change anything
    TRIPLE TAKE: My personal favorite sniper. (outside Kraber obvi) Versatile in hipfire and ads. Good for fast paced gameplay. No change
    Shotguns
    Flat out gonna say something for the mags. Increased mag size OR reload. One or the other.
    EVA-8 AUTO: I personally don't use this. Not much of an opinion to share
    MASTIFF: Solid gun. No change
    MOZAM: Increase the mag size. Make Hammerpoint more available
    PEACEKEEPER: Give it just a few more spare shots. Like 5 more
    Pistols
    RE-45: Increase the mag size to 30. I like the idea of Skulpiercer
    P2020: Honestly, it being a standard pistol, I think it fills it's role. Lower the spawn rate of the gun and increase the spawn of rate of Hammerpoint. Maybe dual wield hopup?
    WINGMAN: On console, this thing isn't as bad as Frothy says imo. That said, Care Package weapon. If it IS that powerful, maybe that's where it belongs. Only get a couple mags

    this is almost 100% a personal bias, but I think the R99 and Prowler should be swapped again. Not seeing the near-objective best SMG in the game on the ground was probably the one thing I liked about Season 6, and I feel having to kit the Prowl back up the way you have to kit up an R99 now would be sufficient balance to its late game potential.
    One idea I've heard kicked around that I really like is letting the Charge Rifle take Turbo, and having it work like Charge Hack did in TF2, reducing the damage for a faster charge-up. If the change is DPS-neutral, I'd be down for it.
    -Kraber should always kill on headshot. The fact that a purple helm, red body Fortified legend can take that and live is dumb. Only change it needs.- this one is straight up factually incorrect. Sorry
    Mirage should not be an unlock. Mirage should be base game content. Getting your first legend unlock, be it cash or tokens, picking mirage because he seems cool, and then just being railed for it just isn't an experience players should have. Players should be able to risk-free try out and decide if Mirage is the kind of legend they'd want to play.
    As a Watt player, I will say one thing: She can lose Low Profile. Yes, she has the Lifeline/Old Wraith hitboxes, but her animations have her standing flat as a board at nearly all times, so she has the stance of a moving Firing Range target (the ones that fold down when you shoot them). Maybe bring the passive shield gen into parity with Octane's passive heal, but other than that, she's fine.
    Loba _needs_ her tactical fixed and rebalanced. you throw it, it glides at like a third of the speed of a grenade, while you wait for it to land you're a sitting duck, and when you do land, you're defenseless for nearly two full seconds on top of having a massive indicator so enemies can pre-aim at you, a cool 35 seconds before you can do it again, and all that if it even works. If not, well you probably just die anyway. It is almost comically useless despite how powerful it sounds on paper. It's almost like Respawn added a legend that can teleport as a joke. The rest of her kit is fine (although imo her passive should extend to her teammates as well so she doesn't get the ability to just starve her teammates in random queues), it's just her tactical which is near useless in its current state.

    My idea is very barebones, but generally, in order to help with many guns not bing used (mentioned Lstar or Devotion), I would somehow make the crafting more essential, and/or take some inspiration from the loadout drop from Warzone. (INSPIRATION, not the exact same thing)

    Edit: what is a fundamental problem with LMGs in 90% of games, is that they are just assault rifles with bigger mags. LMG as a real weapon 'type' is a squad support weapon, but in games, its always either a stronger AR, or a weaker AR, but it always fits the same role. Im not saying guns should go full realism with weapons. However, I think that when you as a dev take inspiration from real weapons, you should try to make the gun fulfill its actual role, or just dont add them at all

    Controller player here, would swap any heavy weapon for a spitfire everytime, even in late game scenarios. But basically only if I got at least a blue mag and 2x sights

    The wingman can stay, remove skull piercer. Maybe give it to another weapon in need of a buff, or just trash it. It should Maybe have a slower rate of fire and reduce headshot multipliers. Idk, it would suck to just trash it. Love the variety of having a revolver in an fps.

    Tbh I’m content with the weapon balancing. It obviously isn’t perfect, but I think the meta we have now is at least healthy. There isn’t a Disruptor Alternator or season 4 Havoc type of situation for the season and there is plenty of parity for viable weapons up to the late game.
    I don’t play other legends enough to talk about them too much, but besides clearly aggressive characters needing much louder abilities, I would like to touch on Lifeline: Her tap revives are an absolute nuisance and ruins any fire fight in the game, but if they just reverted her passive back to what it was before she would just be bullied out of her own niche again by other legends that can safely revive with their tactical like Gibby or Bang. I would nerf it by having it so Lifeline would need to interact with her downed teammate similarly to a regular revive, only that it’s only for a second or two, and it’s meant to initiate the auto revive and the shield, instead of them being given to her instantly. That way, a Lifeline would need to actually be vulnerable for a second to revive her teammate automatically, while still having a clear advantage over other legends.
