The couple seem nice. I’m currently 20 minutes into watching the first episode and it feels like I’ve been watching for 6 hours. I’ll try to get through this episode but unless it turns dramatically better, I doubt I’ll watch another episode.
These guys are corrupt...try flipping and make homes affordable for kanaka. Never mind this pilau 1-2 million selling price. This is not Aloha. No way. You are locals in white rich people clothing. 100% to keep locals staying in Hawai'i you guys are bs. No Hawaiian can possibly afford. There is NO WIN WIN. HAOLE Go to Maui and truly build homes for those displaced and hurting kanaka.
I agree with you in that it's pretty tough for locals to buy a newly renovated home that's over $1 million. As for these people being corrupt, I don't know them well enough to make any such claim. But if you've got a run-down property on the islands that you want to unload, to whom would you rather sell? Locals or investors from the mainland? And doesn't the property value around the renovated home increase? The neighbors also benefit from not having to see an old building that's falling apart on their block.
@@stevelee6174 naaah sounds like another land grabbing scenario. And you sound like you go for it. Try talking with kanaka. Actually most nowadays ignore the wealthy beast. But plenty been talking about this forever......
@@river4462 So is there a solution to keep locals on their properties? It seems like basic economics make it difficult, but this is also happening in California (where I live) and other places. In and around cities like San Francisco (where I grew up) and Los Angeles (where I live now), people can't afford to live in the neighborhoods where they grew up unless your family makes over $150K annually. Do you think Islanders should just not sell their properties? As far as whether I "sound like I go for it," it doesn't matter what I think since I have no voice in the matter, nor do I have any stake. What do you realistically think would be best for all involved?
