I wish the lyrics were correct...did you really think he was talking about an ashtray? It's "leading you astray" thanks for posting though, great song.
+Kelda Strasbourg I wasn't aware there was a typo. Were you referring to the line at 3:08? It doesn't look misspelled to me.. That said, I'm aware that the first line should say "Grand Blanc" instead of "grand blank".
josue espinosa It's saying that the person in the song doesn't care about God, Drugs, or Sex, but the real underlying issue, is that they don't care about God.
+EJ ED (carro loco) This said the one who wrote it: "When you meet someone and the chemistry is strong give it time to find the true nature behind these newly found mutual feelings; what matters is character and the central values between partners. You may be attracted to the other person but rifts arise when there are massive differences in the core makeup in who you believe yourself to be; these core values can be such topics as belief in God, drug use, money, goals, dreams, and abstinence. ’Know thyself’, then learn them." Anberlin themselves have said several times that they are not a Christian band, but their work does often include some religious themes. Which, although I'm an atheist (and an avid one at that), I quite like. It shows that they put a lot of heavy meaning into their music.
Alright thanks, as a Christian myself, I just wanted to make sure I was listening to the right music. I thought they were Christian band, just not the kind that preaches a lot.
Er, what exactly do you mean by "the right music"?? That seems like a rather pompous thing to say... There is no "right kind" of music. Music is music, whether it's light rock or apocalyptic death metal or bluegrass nostalgic country or v a p o r w a v e. It's merely a matter of personal taste.
Dragon Master I didn't mean it like that! I meant the music that's right for me. I'm not saying there is a "wrong" type of music, because that's not for me to judge. I'm sorry I gave you the wrong idea.
Legendary song. Anberlin forever.

The way I see it, there's a growing distance between two lovers and now God, drugs, and sex no longer matter to one of them.

Sorry for the stupid question, but is this a Christian song?
