I don't remember where I read/heard this, but I just know that this song and its lyrics were created on the spot and were improvised. When the question came on what to call the song, I recall Stephen Christian saying "I Just Sang Whatever," and hence it assumed the acronym IJSW. -Found something that supports it but I remember actually hearing him talk about it. Might have been when I saw them live or something. This is one of three new tracks included on Devotion: Vital Special Edition, a deluxe version of the band's 2012 Vital album. Frontman Stephen Christian told Billboard magazine that the tune didn't form in the same way as most other Anberlin cuts. "This song is as close to Jack Kerouac Anberlin will ever come," the singer said. "I just pushed play on the demo and just sang whatever came to mind. I sent it to the rest of the guys under the guise that I was 'sold on the melody lines but the lyrics were just free form' (hence the first line of the song 'I can't help but say what's on my mind'). [Guitarist] Christian [McAlhaney] and the guys emailed me immediately and said not to touch them... guess I should have been making stuff up our whole career."
@@romanjae8214 That's a really cool story and the best explanation of the song title I've heard. I love the whole vital album. For me, that record is on par with cities. The production on vital is a little sharper though in my opinion. Anyway, vital/devotion is a special record that I don't get tired of listening to. I appreciate the information about the song IJSW.
*I can only tell what's on your mind. How can you say you don't feel the same, when I feel the heart of a beat moving with you. Freak! The lyrics are in the description. Give 'em a go, they're beautiful as always
I am going to try and do the lyrics, if someone could go through and correct them thank you. I can never tell what's on her mind. (2x) How can you say you do feel the same when I feel the horror of your being More of a thing How can we scream still into the night When you see double demons ... Never mind I give up

I just really wish I knew what's the meaning of the title? Is IJSW short for something?
I thought it was a personality type. I don't know, but Anberlin always has such creative song titles.
