Hey mate when u put them in, did u have any trouble getting the bottom of the rear shock to slot into the bottom shock mount? I can’t get the bit the bolt goes through to sink into the mount 😅
Undo both sway bar links at the same time! the springs need at least 10mm of pre-load on them & you need to supply your own nut for the strut tops! the strut top sets up as normal using the concave washes. Oh also dont use a jack on your rear axle; undo the rear sway bar & the control arm will drop enough to get the spring out! Ps don't wear throngs when working on cars.
These things are really shoddy. With both washers, the strut top mount and the bearing kit there is no room for another nut to fasten them down. I bought the nuts with that very thing in mind - for the VE kit the rear is 12mm fine thread, and the fronts are 14mm fine thread (or the same as your wheel nut size). There's no way both will go on. Even putting the single nut in the things wont fasten down to more than 1 bit of the thread exposed at the top once the plate has gone on too. The sway bar links don't marry up either as these things are shorter than the OEM strut regardless of how you wind it out, it won't line up to the OEM specs. They are out by nearly 2 inches give or take. On the latest VE kit there is another bracket for another vehicle so clearly these kits are not bespoke for single make/model. Maxpeedingrods are utter pieces of shyte. I've chucked the whole kit in the bin, wouldn't sell it to anyone because they just aren't safe. I'll shell out for a decent set now.
lmao i just got these like 2 weeks ago to put in the same color vy, but only ended up using the rears and chopping the front springs because the fronts looked a bit sketchy.. more content on the vy!
Does the front of your car sound like the struts bottom out, I got ssl all around , idk if my struts are stock aftermarket, or lowered struts that' are just blown
Hey mate with the coil over kit is there anything else you'll need to buy for example the strut top bushings if so are they just standard or are they specific for the coilovers
Id buy a complete new strut top, bushings and bearings, my bearings were full of dust and the bushes were/are sagging Also it’s gonna be low, you need to use a shitload of that bottom thread or it’s just going to pop off as soon as you roll the car

You need those 2 washers form the old ones to put either side of your old strut tops.
Be interested in how these are going now after a few months. Also hope you put the concave washer in the shaft under the strut top

Fronts have been known for breaking, apparently they have been updated since we reviewed them. Not 100% sure though
