Great video’s from Dave. He defo knows his stuff and the directions of how to do something in the video is clear and simple. I emailed him as there was a loud whining noise coming from my belt/roller at top of Sole F63. It was LOUD and unbearable. Sent him video of noisy machine working and he advised to check under the belt and after following above video (taken bottom roller off) I got belt loose and found a pencil that my wee one had slipped under belt and was lodged between belt and top roller. Took it out, cleaned machine and belt and no noise works perfectly. Saved me £100 call out from company and I was even thinking of needing to buy new machine. Thanks again Dave. Thanks, Dave! I have a Sole F80, and the disassembly/reassembly of this section was exactly what I wanted to see. Question: I cracked both my rear end caps with my heels so that the an ~inch or so of rear roller is exposed on either side. Think I'll have consequences running it like that? Any easy way to fabricate reinforced/metal end cap replacements that won't crack if the machine reverses my heels into them as I do incline runs?
Well you are welcome and thank you, but I know of no aftermarket end caps , much less made out of metal. Maybe on commercial units. And some Precor maybe 🤔
@@FitnessTechnologyServices A slight thumping issue appears to be isolated at the rear roller. It occurs whether inclined or not. Everything is in alignment, I don't believe it has anything to do with the physical track lubrication as that was done less than 450 miles ago, and also the Sole has a mileage reminder of when to lube which I think is something like 1,000 miles.
I pulled out the owners manual for the F80 and found that it requires lube every 180 hours, not 1,000. For me that would be a little over 3-years. I will lube it today but I don't think that will take care of the thumping noise, will see. Also, I found a video on how to replace the rear bearings on the rear roller. That will be my next stop if needed.
Castra wow you ask tough questions 🙂might get me in trouble will answer as best I can the thought is with a larger roller it dissipate heat better and last longer . Some company’s feel their bearing and metal are better and don’t worry about size as much ! Knowing weight of rollers would help you figure out which is better

What would be a symptom of having to replace the rear roller on the F80?
Noise mostly
A thumping sound or other?
@@davidk5354 Well it would be easier for me if you tell me your issue. I have never changed the back roller for any other reason

Any reason why some expensive treadmills have smaller rollers in the rear f 2.5 and r 2.0 ?
