You should react to Jessica Lee's vlogs when she goes to Philippine markets and restaurants in Korea with her friend who is also enamored by the Philippine culture, Highly entertaining.
Her english accent is pure Pilipino, No question she grow up in the Philippines.
Really? I'm Fil-Am myself but find her English more American sounding than Filipino. Dasuri Choi and Sandara Park (fellow Koreans) who learned English in PH have a Filipino accent when speaking English.
@Love Wins I don't hear it. Filipinos who speak some English GMA or ABS-CBN don't sound like Jessica's. There's a difference between how her accent sounds compared to Koreans like Dasuri and Sandara's. Theirs sounds a lot more Filipino and more similar to my parents' accent. Even Ryan Bang's accent sounds more Filipino even though I can hear faint traces of a Korean accent there also. Jessica's English sounds more American to me.
@Love Wins maybe that's why. But I'd expect some Pinoy celebrities to have a similar accent then bc a lot of them are children of fellow celebrities so they'd be in the upper class as well.
@@kawaiiafangirl She went to a relatively posh school. Univ of St La Salle in Bacolod IIRC.
I remember that after she felt a bit of shame that her accent is Filipino, she tried to imitate Americans. Eventually, she has learned to be proud of her Filipino English accent.
While it is true that her accent is not the typical Filipino-English and has a hint of an American, she wouldn't pass one as it is syllable-timed instead of stressed-timed.
She doesn't use weak forms as native English speakers do. Actually, a lot of Filipinos are actually proud with this practice, though personally I disagree.
Anyway, the typical Filipino-English accent I reckon sounds polite - TOO POLITE.
She’s sincere, smart honest. I watch her videos and they are very entertaining n informative. Watch them if you have time.
I'll be waiting for the time when George and Lucy makes a story video like this.
