Best because it's always running, so many locations, so many lines - worst because a lot of times trains skip stops, reroute or are out of service, lack ac, dirty. I always say it, it amazes me how we have the best and the worst transit atst. Like how are you so advanced and always running, yet dirty and always broken atst? It's like magic, it baffles me. We could be so much better and we should be so much better. Tbh I blame the politicians and the tourists. most NYers want a clean city, we used to be, but tourists think it's "so chill you can do anything city" they litter so it becomes dirty. And naturally dirty because of some homeless people, but every day should be city employees cleaning the stations. It really should not be the way it is, and majority of our politicians were non NYCers, they came from Jersey, Massachusettes, upstate NY, and etc. NYC constantly gets trapped. I love it here, we have everything, but I also hate it here bc it should be a lot cleaner and cheaper. It's so expensive now it's hard to live.

    We had something similar like "crowd dance" in ex-GDR. Every Saturday we had school too, but only half as long as in the week, and everyone had to be there on the schoolyard 7'o clock 30 in the morning. All pupils had to stand in formations and sing the national hymn before the regular school started at 8'o clock. That happened every Saturday in every school in ex-GDR. The North-Korean subway is a former ex-GDR subway by the way. As teenagers we did making fun with jumping out of the incoming subway when it slowed down. Sadly it's impossible to do so anymore with newer subways. :) EDIT: It's crazy to watch for me, since it feels like a travel back in time.

    Such an interesting portrait of everyday life.
    The girls are lovely, the South korean girl is very respectful and asks the right questions to contextualise new knowledge, as for the North korean girl, she is quite good at explaining, seems very genuine and cheery (both of them really) and basically I wish her the best because escaping and leaving all you know and love behind... It requires the kind of courage that not many people have.

If you think about it, as a leader of a country and especially for a country that has been invaded so many times by foriegn countries, I'm not surprise that they invest so much in military. As an individual who studied economics and politics, North Korea is on the right track, but the West just doesn't want the Korea Peninsula to stabilize. Look at how much America's military budget, and look at how many homeless people they have. Why aren't we criticizing America for those problem? Well, cause the media made it look as if those same exact problem doesn't happen in America yet it happens in North Korea so we need to get rid of Kim. Just blame it on the leader it's that easy.

They mentioned that they struggle with financial difficulties and receive inadequate wages or rations, which often leads to hunger. There also seems to be a lack of vital medical care and aid, which makes life even more difficult. Trying to flee is incredibly risky and is not considered advisable by some.

      @@Lucian_Devil The irony is, you are more 'controlled' in the states than in North Korea. Thing is, in the states it happens behind the scenes. The pentagon knows everything about their citizens. Who they are, what they do, when they do what. They have some laws in place to monitor citizens, like the Cloud Act for instance. In the states, you feel free while you are actually caged. Sadly, the west in general is taking this route too. I am from west-europe and it visibly is moving towards becoming a police-state, like China is with their CCP and skynet.

    • @Lucian_Devil
      @Lucian_Devil 6 місяців тому +13

      @@Samosayummyyay I come from Central Europe, so my perspective might be limited, but I've heard different things from my friends. Many have mentioned that people all over the world are monitored by organizations like the FBI. However, I understand that you don't live in a dictatorship. If I had to choose, I would prefer to live in a country like the USA over North Korea. It's not because I dislike North Korea; it's more about the stark differences in governance between the two. While the USA can be dramatic, and I'm not a fan of how some patriots promote certain individuals like Trump, compared to North Korea, there's more freedom for people to pursue their desires in the States (for the most part). In North Korea, one must live entirely for the government, even if they disagree with its policies.
      Another significant advantage of living in the States and the Western world, in general, is their greater acceptance and understanding of individuals struggling with various issues, whether related to their bodies, beliefs, or personal problems. While it's incredibly risky to be LGBTQ+ in North Korea, it's much safer in the West or other countries. While being gay isn't illegal in North Korea, individuals still face judgment, and there are reports of disappearances when the government learns of someone's LGBTQ+ identity. In the USA, at least, there's access to medication and necessary treatments, even if they come at a cost.
      Honestly, I think North Korea could be a beautiful country where dreams could come true, similar to South Korea, if the government wasn't so controlling and dominated by power-hungry people. But right now it seems like you can only dream of that happening....
      Yet again, this is just based on the information that I got from friends and relatives.
