📌NORTH KOREAN GIRL :: @g_yeong_2_
📌SOUTH KOREAN GIRL :: @nes_ming
For those who are confused, the North Korean girl escaped and is currently living in South Korea. There are about 30000 (correct me if I am wrong) North Korean defectors in South Korea.
Has she shared how she escaped?
@@Hwangverseyes in the previous video
Will she be okay being on screen? Like is the story about North Korea will look for them and recapture them true?
@pureheartedassassin8865 Generally, she is safe. I mean, there are some North Korean spies in South Korea, but I haven't heard of recaptured cases yet.
I’m less concerned for defectors who have made to SK and more concerned for their families still in NK.
Imagine living somewhere where you have to put A PORTRAIT over your own life and protect it until your death. That's crazy man

Fortunately he already settled in SK and is enjoying her life. Lots of North Koreans settled in SK became youtuber or streamer for some reason
NK hasn't gone after defectors in SK in decades.
@@cdwhabfkjlhlkugs The attention. They lie a lot, too, for the attention. It's well known.
@@ohhi5237 What is your point? I see that you comment a lot but it doesn't even make sense
@@ohhi5237 wait. they call defectors "actors"?!! Is that like a code for them?!! I read your other reply on other comments
This just makes me realize how many good and kind people must be living there and doing their best to get by. Western media is often unfair to the North Korean people as a whole. I hope Hyun Kyung is living a good life in South Korea.
it definitely opens the eyes on the citizens especially the country folk who are starving to death because they have to live in a. country where a photo is worth more than their lives
Actually, I have never heard of shaming or badmouthing North Koreans in western media. I heard bad things about the country, their leaders, politics, but as for the citizens of NK it was usually more of a compassion that people have to live in that country, where they have to act with fear of the government, where they starve, are forced to hard labour etc.
Check south Korea students with a lot of debts. I can't use the word that you know.. Ending lif to erase debt. It's on yt for all to see.
@@ishakak147aye. We known north Korea by the mainstream media. What they won't tell us is sanctions was the culprit to starvation.
Wait, she is not living in South Korea now? I mean...if she lives in North Korea, she is not allowed to leave and say bad things.
Crazy, the old subways in Berlin looked exactly the same.
I remember seeing a documentary and apparently they brought German trains for the subway after the war or during, I am not sure
It's true. According to research at the end of the 1990s, old, no longer used trains with the nickname Dora from the Construction year between 1956 and 1964 were sold to North Korea.
@@daileen7058 Wow amazing research! Thank you!
Also subway in Madrid during 1978-1986 the wagons in new lines looked like that
And the not talking is similar to London 😅
Hyun Kung is a natural beauty. I hope, she can do well in South Korea.
If she wasn't a natural beauty you wouldn't?
it's kinda creepy how everyone acts like they have to mention these people's beauty before saying something
Im just starting the vid but Im guessing she mustve had a surgery done. It is acceptable maybe she has to get it done cuz maybe NK is after her
@@PinkPelican-fs7pvYou’re just assuming she must’ve had surgery because of your biased assumptions on Asian women 🙄 freak
She looks natural not everyone got a surgery.and north Korea can't come after her in South korea
Her father saw how animated and enthusiastic his daughter speak when at home and decided to spend their life savings and escape North Korea just so she can talk freely like that to other people. Good man. I love her character.
Hyun Kung seems very open and energetic which is the opposite of how i imagined north koreans. I expected them to be less talkative and shy lol. Thats great that she talks about her experience that easily.
I think it’s because she’s already gone from this lifestyle and like she lives in a better environment now and she has a lot of new friends for many years, so I think that’s why.
struggle forms character. lol
These are the old subway trains from East Germany. I always thought it's just a joke, that they sold them to North Korea.
and the trams are from czechoslovakia iirc

@@Justme-fc8pr no cap .....
I know this a serious subject, but even if they’re forced to live in fear of the Kim Dynasty, they could use a chuckle. Heck the relatives of said dynasty have never once laughed as a human being in their life.
That's ironic, cause some North Koreans feel really sorry for those people living in North America... they wish very much the same upon them: for the working class to one day rule their own lives and not by the government 🤩
It's really cool to see to young Koreans from different parts getting along so well
north korea hate is an american thing. as a south korean, south koreans dont hate north koreans. we are probably all cousins of cousins of cousins after all..we feel sorry for them and feel bad for them. And ultimately, we're pretty fascinated with them
Yeah. but it would also have been cool if they'd had a big fight, divided the room into two halves and then just stood and stared at each other tensely through binoculars for the next fifty years whilst blasting propaganda at each other saying that the argument was their fault.
Either works for me.
@@Angiepewpewi dont think people hate north koreans, its more like the government. Most Americans feel bad for north koreans (ofc there are some who choose to hate north koreans but thats not a big majority of Americans)
@@Angiepewpew We hate the Kim family dictatorship, not North Koreans.
Of course, there are Americans who aren't really aware of the situation there, but when Americans do learn about it, we pretty much all see the North Koreans as victims of a despotic, tyrannical regime. Most of us tend to feel sad for them, we don't hate them.
We hate the Tyrants, not their victims.
i like the way she talks and expresses herself. very energetic and charismatic.
Which has proven that she was well-fed and well-brought up and not like what western propaganda keep trying to convince the world that NK is a hellhole.

@@chinobandito7625 NYC (I'm a NYer I can say this) bothers me because we have the everything transit: best, worst, dirtiest, sweatiest transit. Best because it's always running, so many locations, so many lines - worst because a lot of times trains skip stops, reroute or are out of service, lack ac, dirty. I always say it, it amazes me how we have the best and the worst transit atst. Like how are you so advanced and always running, yet dirty and always broken atst? It's like magic, it baffles me. We could be so much better and we should be so much better. Tbh I blame the politicians and the tourists. most NYers want a clean city, we used to be, but tourists think it's "so chill you can do anything city" they litter so it becomes dirty. And naturally dirty because of some homeless people, but every day should be city employees cleaning the stations. It really should not be the way it is, and majority of our politicians were non NYCers, they came from Jersey, Massachusettes, upstate NY, and etc. NYC constantly gets trapped. I love it here, we have everything, but I also hate it here bc it should be a lot cleaner and cheaper. It's so expensive now it's hard to live.
its bought from east germany back in the day.

Her gesticulation while she speaks is so pretty and satisfying. She just oozes class thanks to that
Some metros in Berlin and Prague are also still using that kind of old-fashioned train door. You need to open it manually.
In Prague, metro-wise, we dont use the old ones anymore. But I did read that the the old Czechoslovakian trams were donated to NK and we still use those in touristy places and some of them ride solely as a tourist thing that you have to pay extra for
Paris still has some (or they were finally replaced this year I think). I love these, I get a small happiness boost everytime I open one

We had something similar like "crowd dance" in ex-GDR. Every Saturday we had school too, but only half as long as in the week, and everyone had to be there on the schoolyard 7'o clock 30 in the morning. All pupils had to stand in formations and sing the national hymn before the regular school started at 8'o clock. That happened every Saturday in every school in ex-GDR. The North-Korean subway is a former ex-GDR subway by the way. As teenagers we did making fun with jumping out of the incoming subway when it slowed down. Sadly it's impossible to do so anymore with newer subways. :) EDIT: It's crazy to watch for me, since it feels like a travel back in time.
They look better maintained that A-Line Buenos Aires subway (Argentina)
Such an interesting portrait of everyday life.
The girls are lovely, the South korean girl is very respectful and asks the right questions to contextualise new knowledge, as for the North korean girl, she is quite good at explaining, seems very genuine and cheery (both of them really) and basically I wish her the best because escaping and leaving all you know and love behind... It requires the kind of courage that not many people have.

@@nani6663 actually, if we sanction North Korea a lot less, maybe they might have more money for the people. If you think about it, as a leader of a country and especially for a country that has been invaded so many times by foriegn countries, I'm not surprise that they invest so much in military. As an individual who studied economics and politics, North Korea is on the right track, but the West just doesn't want the Korea Peninsula to stabilize. Look at how much America's military budget, and look at how many homeless people they have. Why aren't we criticizing America for those problem? That's the thought that popped up when I asked why.
Woah.... North Korea is VERY Strict it seems...
Oh, you have NO idea! 😅
@@jrocsexy I have heard from friends who have visited or lived in the country that they felt restricted and controlled by the North Korean government, like puppets on strings. They mentioned that they struggle with financial difficulties and receive inadequate wages or rations, which often leads to hunger. There also seems to be a lack of vital medical care and aid, which makes life even more difficult. Trying to flee is incredibly risky and is not considered advisable by some.
My sympathies go out to the people facing these difficulties and I sincerely hope that they have better opportunities and brighter days ahead.
@@Lucian_Devil yeah, I've heard the same thing from my friends. Not great!
@@Lucian_Devil The irony is, you are more 'controlled' in the states than in North Korea. Thing is, in the states it happens behind the scenes. The pentagon knows everything about their citizens. Who they are, what they do, when they do what. They have some laws in place to monitor citizens, like the Cloud Act for instance. In the states, you feel free while you are actually caged. Sadly, the west in general is taking this route too. I am from west-europe and it visibly is moving towards becoming a police-state, like China is with their CCP and skynet.
@@Samosayummyyay I come from Central Europe, so my perspective might be limited, but I've heard different things from my friends. Many have mentioned that people all over the world are monitored by organizations like the FBI. However, I understand that you don't live in a dictatorship. If I had to choose, I would prefer to live in a country like the USA over North Korea. It's not because I dislike North Korea; it's more about the stark differences in governance between the two. While the USA can be dramatic, and I'm not a fan of how some patriots promote certain individuals like Trump, compared to North Korea, there's more freedom for people to pursue their desires in the States (for the most part). In North Korea, one must live entirely for the government, even if they disagree with its policies.
Another significant advantage of living in the States and the Western world, in general, is their greater acceptance and understanding of individuals struggling with various issues, whether related to their bodies, beliefs, or personal problems. While it's incredibly risky to be LGBTQ+ in North Korea, it's much safer in the West or other countries. While being gay isn't illegal in North Korea, individuals still face judgment, and there are reports of disappearances when the government learns of someone's LGBTQ+ identity. In the USA, at least, there's access to medication and necessary treatments, even if they come at a cost.
Honestly, I think North Korea could be a beautiful country where dreams could come true, similar to South Korea, if the government wasn't so controlling and dominated by power-hungry people. But right now it seems like you can only dream of that happening....
Yet again, this is just based on the information that I got from friends and relatives.
