It's amazing that this epic acoustic song never made it onto and album! A lot of new fans studying their catalogue don't even know about it. Robert's vocals on this track put it into a surreal level.
Thanks Howard. I really started playing a lot the last couple years and I'm super excited about this one because I just never thought I'd ever be able to play this song. Your lessons are great, very clear and not real talky.
AND you've once again really done your homework, Page did slow down the recording on this and some other tunes. Many have struggled to figure this out...great producer/ engineer, guitarist extraordinaire!!!
Excellent lesson. I zoomed through your zep stuff. Do you have a Ramble On lesson? There's a couple little spots in there that I'd love to see/hear your input on.... Houses of the Holy(song) is another.
I just don’t know why YouTuned down a half step . You said Page slowed down the tape , I appreciate the knowledge. It’s your channel do what you want , I would guess most have guitars tuned standard . Why tune down to a record if I’m grabbing my acoustic to learn something I may have missed with you ? If I put my vinyl on I can speed it up on my turntable .. anyway / if it’s Page and acoustic or Ian Anderson I should be used to it .. thanks . Great channel , actually my favorite.
Hi - I appreciate your input. My goal is to present the song as accurately as possible based on the original recording. I have a turntable, you have a turntable, but most people don't - and not all turn tables have adjustable speed anyway. Most people stream their music these days, or have ripped it from old CDs. If they want to play along to the original recording (which many players do) they will need to tune down.
Hi - the "half step but not quite" is referencing Zep's recording, which has the tape speed altered. But for the video, I'm tuned a perfect 1/2 step lower... making it easier for players to get in tune with the lesson. Hope that helps, Howard
Great lesson you’ve definitely cleared up a few issues I had with this song,it’s such an undiscovered gem but totally deserves to be played right.

This song is on the "Coda" album! At least the copy I have anyway.
Your channel and these acoustic lessons are money from home. Love it so much.
Another great vid. Just learned tangerine from your other video. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it.
I'm glad I found this channel for all my LED Zeppelin lessons:)
Thanx so much for watching :-)
I like when I can give a thumbs up even before hearing one sound...
I've been playing this wrong for years because I wasn't tuned down a step. Sounds so much better! Thanks Howard!
Great stuff...thanks man...
Best lesson on UA-cam for this song, thank you!
Love the sound your acoustic makes, wow.
Thanks... it's just a Fender Paramount - but I do love it

Can you play Yer Blues

Another great lesson. Thank you for posting. Be safe my friend.
How spoiled are we in 2021? These songs couldn't be learned back in 1995 without buying $20 Zeppelin books, and they were always wrong.
Yes! You're so right... A lot of those books were pretty bad :-) Thanks for watching
Just found you, great lesson thanks
Thank you :-)

Yeah... and thank you. Gotta get to Ramble On :-)

I just want to know what guitar that is he's playing.
Wish you could have shown the exact tuning so it would be easier to sound like your video, instead of a half step but not quite???

That's why Bonham used pastis .
:-)
Ya gotta be smarter than the average bear to realize, right off, that the song was slowed down.
