I love this game so much!! It's so chill and lovely and I am much better at it than Jon, which is a great bonus! Since Jon recorded this video, I got my highscore past 16,000 points. Jon keeps going "oh no, what have I done? I've created a monster, I shouldn't have shown you this game" :D :D :D

How about a Co-Op Livestream? You each place tiles in turn, or maybe groups of 10 to keep things smooth.

"Dorfromantik" is German. Dorf means village, while Romantik means romance, if some wants to know.
It basically means something like rural romance, describing appreciation for the simple life in a small village

In the Dwarf Fortress community, a "dorf" is an especially stupid dwarf. That is to say, all of them.

I love how Jon creates stories for the worlds he builds. The houses for train watchers and the little water way where the town residents race model boats, these cute stories made smile.

I think it would be fun to play this game for hours then when it’s all done write a story about the world. The abandoned railway to the woods overtaken by the forest it used to help drain of trees. The foresters lodge by the secret meadow. The crazy Railfans who build their houses next to the rail lines. The fishing company who sends their trawlers out into the ponds to catch a rare yet plentiful fish
I actually had the same idea. I dont have a pc or switch so I can't play it, but I'm thinking about writing stories or at least bits of stories from different peoples perspectives within the area using the backstory Jon made for them.
At this point I don't care what game Jon is covering, just hearing his voice is enough for my entertainment
I think I've never seen a game on Jon's channel with that amount of uncut gameplay... wow.
Jon literally put more thought into railway management in this video than Dr. Beeching did during his entire tenure as Chairman of British Railways.

Here is a cool idea
You build the Town using the Hexagons
Then when you are done it turns into a first person Explorer game where you walk the Streets and Explorer the wilderness
Needs to have a trading and merchant sim element where the cut off towns need supplies and if there's no road/river/train the hero is going to have a tough time. 😄
That sounds amazing, I'd play the absolute hell outta that.
@@Scott_C I don't think it would be a good idea to add too many features into the game. The appeal right now is, that it's very easy and therefore calming and relaxing.
Yep, Tottaly get it. I just like the idea of having to deal with the consequences of your actions while building the landscape.
It's not right for this game, but i did have a similar idea once for a game based on the Dire Straits song, Telegraph Road: you'd build a city through the ages, everything would become rather dystopian and then you'd drop out of that and play some sort of RPG adventure in the city you'd created.

It's almost amazing how Jon has one to two weekly series going on at any one time and yet still finds the time to also fill most days between those weekly series with random other games and videos.

Every time Jon says "well what can you do...", you could do better planning Jon, and look at the whole screen, you could do that.

This game reminds me of "Rivers, Roads, and Rails", a tile-based boardgame from my childhood.
I don't know how this early access chill game got so darn popular, but I am totally here for it.

Perfection everywhere is possible and you should aim for it. The first 10 tiles have a high chance of imperfection, everything later is just patient.
Also the +60 of perfect tiles is not important. The bonus tile they grant is important. No matter if you seek highscores or aesthetics, perfect tiles will make you last longer.
This game is well worth the price, time flies by and its one of those, Just one more game games. Its crazy frustrating as well when you arent getting the pieces you want but in a good way
I just bought this because it looked so good in the video. Before I knew it 100 minutes had flown by, my first game was over and I had almost beaten Jon with a final score of 10530. Thank you for the recommendation. This game is so blissful.
Saw a video of it, instantly bought it... played it for a day. It's perfect I want more of it, I NEED MORE OF IT!!! It's all I ever want to do. Please let there be an Sandbox/Creative mode in the future. It's already amazing in Beta... can't wait to follow them and see what they come up with/how the community can help. So excited!!! :D

This reminds me of the way I played with Carcassonne as a kid, so I will need to buy this.
Fun fact, this game was first created in the Ludum Dare competition. I had the honor of playing the first versions and it was pretty great even after 48 hours.

So basically this is a game of dominoes with extra steps.
No, as as this game is dynamic. In dominoes you get a fixed number of tiles, and cannot generate multiplier scores, or more tiles. Moreover, you are playing in this game against yourself, whereas in dominoes you are playing against an opponent.
I played this game and thought it was ok. I definitely enjoy seeing Jon's enthusiasm about playing it more than actually playing it myself.
Trust Jon to make the most chill game of 2021 into a competition :D

I watched about 5 minutes of the video before looking up and buying this game. Very chill and fun. Easy game to play without thinking too hard and very pretty.
Jon if you like this, you'd LOVE Islanders. It's a chill city builder in the same vein as this game.
In my first run I got almost 12.000 points, but now I can't even get above 7.000 most of the time :D I hope they release the creative mode soon, I would really like to build a slightly bigger map than I can now :D

Played this during the Steam Games Festival, really enjoyed the lo-fi and chill aesthetic.
Funnily enough, there were like 3 other games with the same / very similar premise. Hexagonal town building.

I know poor perception is Jon's bread and butter but him missing the opening on the massive forest for a good half an hour gave me severe anxiety 😂 and then "I can't close the forest" for 5 minutes when the tiles he had could exactly close it
I swear everytime he panned over the little eastern town there was just another station out of nowhere.
I kind of hoped this was related to the old Dorf movies, so funny!

Omg the one piece of railway in the middle he kept neglecting is driving me crazy he could've solved that mess he boxed the railway into many times but instead just kept throwing away railway pieces at the top...
