Between the realist logic, deep research, tried analysis raw emotion, biting sarcasm, and classic comedy, we may have just seen the Nostalgia Critic's finest performance yet. Everything he does to bash this movie is on target with perfect delivery and the purest emotional energy.

Wait so his girlfriend was killed by a patient working at his unlicensed, unregulated and low standard facility and he faces no legal consequences to do with that at all? Just that he might "not graduate"?

Well there is this scene where Patch does try to close down the hospital afterwards but its not due to the legal implications, no, its because he's upset about the death of his completely non existent girlfriend.

How disgusting that they would do this the the man.
What an insult to the real Patch Adams and all he
    stands for.

    Real quote :
"After the movie, there wasn't a single positive article about our work or me. There were dumb, stupid, meaningless things... it made my children cry. They actually thought that they didn't know the person they were reading about."

and just like the crossdressing robber in Gordy and the giant dollar artist in Cop and a Half, I'm more intrigued about the crazy shotgun guy's backstory than Patch Adams XD

Honestly as much as I love this movie, after learning of the female being a fictionalized character it would indeed been more original if the character had been his friend rather than a love interest. I would have felt a great deal more invested into the film I think. We all have love interests but at the same time, we all have best friends at some time or another throughout our lives so you can hardly tell me it wouldn't be relatable.

R.I.P. Phillip Seymour Hoffman who played the most supportive student who talk balls to Patch Adams that you can study or don't study and he's more than him. Thank You and I'm not going to come back with this corny movie that this fake doctor is not curing patients with laughter. Your ark is complete Hoffman, go and peace.

What a waste of talent on this movie, I didn't think it was possible for a movie staring Robin Williams and Phillip Seymour Hoffman to be this dumb and insulting but somehow they did it. I don't blame the actors for this shitty movie, it's not their fault this movie blows.

I saw a video of the real patch adams and he seems to be a great doctor. This could have been a good film if they had not decided to focus on one aspect of his personalty and make up facts about his life.

And i think we did it very well. What anyone else says is because they did not understand what we really tryed to get trough whit this movie. This movie is not bad in any way, it's just missunderstood by so many lost souls. Thank you''. If i was to gues... something like that.

    • @aussieman3021

+Cree Warrior It can, because you need permission to borrow things, and it requires asking. The reason Patch Adams stole from hospitals in the movie was because he knew that if he asked Walcott if he could borrow supplies, Walcott would have said no.

Hey, I'm just a random fan of your stuff but I was going through your videos (the amazing ones a.k.a all of them) and realised you haven't done a review of THE WORST film ever, Basket Case. It's a kinda unknown B-movie, but it's so entertaining to watch purely because of it's insane plot :)
Me and my mates take the piss out of it all the time, so I know I'm not the only one who wants to see a review of it :) I'm hoping i'm kissing your ass enough here so that you actually will do a review of it.

  • @noname76761
    @noname76761 12 років тому

@StylishWrestling First off: The post isn't really the Critic. If you wish to make a suggestion, e-mail. Second off: B-movies are SUPPOSED to be bad. That's the only reason they were ever paid any attention. They got attention as low-budget, cheesy horror films in the 50's. If he reviewed every bad B-movie, it would take him 5 and a half years to get through even 75% of them. If you are taking a B-movie seriously and hope to have him review it, that's not good.

I know! I think most people have been so fucking blinded and brainwashed over the years that they have just come to accept it and almost embrace it. believe it or not, there actually is more to life than romantic interests, and at least when they do occur in real life, they're not as fucking cliche and sugar-coated as every damn movie wants to make you believe

For all it's faults Doug you do seem to take this film far too seriously....I mean really, over and above what i love you doing. This is not a very good biopic indeed and Williams characterization is truly scattered but truly you rail endlessly over it's entrails like your the sole authority on medical science.....

This is Doug Walker's worst movie that he hates in number 11 and his favorite review same as the number 11 about a goofy doctor who helps people to become idiots and give them with cancer by a Robin Williams whimsical formula.
For me, this movie is so digrace and for creating a biopic character who works very hard as a medical doctor was making this movie a shameful true story. It's very cruel, very mature, and very cliche. 1 star out of 4. They should reboot this movie at once.

And wow... The HERO of this film just denied a family the chance to be with a loved one as he dies, AND stole from a hospital. WOW, movie.
And double wow... So the woman was a strong, independent lesbian simply because she was molested as as child and feared men. And it turns out there was no such girl, they made her up and based her on a MALE friend of the real Patch Adams. Fucking. WOW.

Never meat the guy so i don't know, i just made that up. Some actors have a tendensy to defend their bad movies until they die even if that is what kills them. What he think's of this movie i don't know. But considering how many bad movies hes done i can't help but think he has to like some of them. Or hes Agent just sucks and he don't know what hes doing utnil he see's the done movie. who knows?

No the fact that Robin tragically died doesn't necessarily change the opinion of the critic and the videos he's done criticizing his work. It's truly sad he died but nobody should act like all his work was perfect due to the fact that he died. He was an extremely talented and amazing actor but this film is still bad and anyone can hate it
