You should only give the port 3 -5 shots of grease. Pumping until it bursts the seals only…bursts the seals. Other than that, good video.

Depends on the service the truck is preforming/ On highway over the road grease every 5000 miles, Off highway in the dirt weekly!

I am astonished at how much grease you got everywhere. You don't need to purge the grease for 5 seconds. I hate getting services after sloppy techs like this. Way to much in the hood latch too, have fun smearing that all over your chest.

+Awesomeman1987 God forbid a mechanic working on a heavy truck should get a little bit of grease on their coveralls. Go work at the parts sales counter if you don't like getting dirty. Or be an engineer instead of a mechanic.

+Daves NoottHeereMaan it's not that I don't like grease (which I do, and if you say you like grease, you haven't dealt with it or you are lying), it's that I get irritated with people doing dumb, unnecessary shit that makes the life of other mechanics more difficult, not to mention it looks particularly unprofessional in my trade.
I'm going to assume you are a truck driver...

+Awesomeman1987 First of all, I saw the vid too and I think it's hilarious that you think that was overgreasing. Secondly, consider the fact that it was perhaps done for illustrative purposes. I'm a truck mechanic and I do alot of grease jobs, and although it doesn't show him doing so in the vid I always make sure to wipe or clean away excess grease with a rag or brakleen or both - even so, it seems like there's still always someone who will bitch and complain about something they think wasn't done right. Reminds me of one mechanic in particular I worked with who complained nonstop about everything; about guys are using too much or not enough of something; about a job taking someone too long or they did it too quick and sloppy; or someone who's in the way because they're using "your" workspace or else they screwed off somewhere and have been gone for too long. Lastly, I'd like to point out that if you're working at any decent shop, it's not as if you're the one who has to pay the laundromat bill for your coveralls to get washed or for the hand cleaner/soap&water the shop uses.

+DavesNotHereMan ok, you're right, I'm bitching about a tiny thing. this is true. and it is also true that we were told in school to grease until fresh grease is purged. I just simply don't agree with that and I don't believe the life of the component is significantly extended by doing this.
