Not as simple as described the part where you actually push the 8 plastic bits holding the badge from behind. Synchronised effort is needed, or the other option is to destroy the badge by removing the chrome trim and opening from the front
Agree. I managed to unclip the 4 clips at the bottom. I used a screwdriver and a plastic tool in parallel. I didn't exactly film the process because space didn't allow. But, if you are patient and careful you don't break nothing.
How do you remove the chrome grille surround. I’m trying to take mine off my 2018 Ibiza to paint and it’s nearly impossible without removing the whole bumper
To remove the chrome grill surround, yes you need to remove the bumper.

Unfortunately if you want to remove the entire front grill is a bumber off job.

Yes, If you don't need it you can break it in pieces.
Where did you order the emblems in color ? In holland the dealer wont sell in colorr only standard chrome

Makes me laugh so much, it's got Volkswagen on the box. I had to ring a Volkwagen dealer one time with my Seat Leon Cupra R. Took me 10 minutes to convince the parts person that the parts were the same...All he kept saying to me after I'd told him the Volkswagen part number, was...yes but your car is a Seat and we are Volkswagen dealership and you have to ring Seat dealership lol

Hello. Yes, you can remove the badge like I've done in video and after, you can remove the "S" from plastic that holds the badge.
@@VladGeru I am wanting to spray mine black as I don't know where I can buy another badge I've tried ebay like this man says can I just un clip the silver s from front without un screwing all that just use a knife with some tape around prize it out?
@@kelly8260 I think the best way is to remove it from the car. If you will use a knife you risk to break badge fixations.

Hello. It is easy if you don't try to bend the clips of badge. Try with a screwdriver to bend plastic that fixing that clips.

Hi, I just can't do it, I tried for nearly 2 hours now. I did focus on the lower 4 clips as you recommended. I can somewhat bend the two outer ones, but I just can't get a hold on the two bigger lower ones. how do you push those up? How do you push all 4 at the same time to remove the badge? No matter how hard I tried to push anything, the badge did not move one millimeter ... am a bit desperate. Would appreaciate some more precise guidance on the exact steps ;)

Great vid! I just tried but the 4 screws at the start do not have a head to fit a screwdriver into and screw out , tried using plastic tool but does not come out
May be you don't have the original screws on the car.

Hello! You need to remove the bumper for that.
When you unclip the original badge does it break the badge clips?
If you are carreful no. And don't do this if is cold outside.
If I do break some clips, will it effect putting the new badge on?
Yes, try to take your time when you do this. And also do this in a hot day, you will avoid to break any clips.

@@raducostelemilian2470 da, intai scoti plasticele pentru Isofix, iar apoi tragi cum ti-am spus. Este similar ca la Golf MK7.

Cant remove those 4 plastic „screws” at The beggining. No matter what i do
Try to do like in video. They came off easy. Try to rotate them in different positions and after pull.
@@VladGeru but no matter how many times I twist them in different positions nothing happens to them. I tried pulling one one and it snapped. In your video when you rotate them they lift up a bit. Mines do nothing

What nonsense! There is no way to remove the emblem without removing the bumper! That's why you don't see it on his video. If you want to remove it without having to dismantle the bumper, then only if you break out the chrome "S" from the existing plate
That is your opinion. You can remove it without removing the bumper. I have done it and others done it. Have nice day.
GUIDE TO REMOVING
I had so much trouble removing the badge so thought I would post some help if anyone is struggling.
- Make sure you focus on the bottom tabs first to try get the badge to come out slighty. Focus on one bottom corner at a time and once you have a corner done use something to gently pull the badge out of the car before starting on the next.
- IMPORTANT - Focus on the tabs that are holding the badge - basically the bits of plastic that are attached to the car bumper and not to the badge and bend these up and out of the way gently. Once they are out of the way it's a lot easier to get the clips out.
- Once done bend the clips attached to the badge up and past the restrictive plastic they are hooked onto the little bumpers and need moving sideways before pulling them out
