The Sleeping Octopus Assembly on Psychedelics (SOAP) is an intimate conference that explored the role of psychedelics in science, medicine, policy, and culture, which took place at a historic mansion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from July 13-15, 2018.
This conference featured presentations from key figures in the psychedelic research and policy community, a psychedelic-themed comedy show, live musical performances, and a benefit dinner for the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). My childhood friend, a really great person, committed suicide a few days ago. He was on methadone for a while but his insurance was no longer covering it so he lost access to it. On December 2, 2019 at 1:00am he jumped in front of a train. I know he could have been saved with the right treatment. Reach out to others with the knowledge gained here.

It's ok for you telling us how it benefits people with addiction issues but saying don't do it or try it if you can't afford an expensive treatment facility that rich addicts can afford, I am going to try it because I've tried everything else and I don't have the time to wait for it to become legal or available in the UK. Howard lotzof tried it without knowing much about it and I doubt he had doctors or nurses monitoring him ? You can't tell everyone about it then say but don't try it until it becomes available to ordinary poor addicts. I haven't got the time to wait for it to be available or the money to go to a country where it is.

If you want treatment, go to a medical facility in a nation where there are actual medically trained doctors and nurses capable of dealing with scenarios and where it is legal. I suppose one could do crowd funding for the travel and treatment expense. As the speaker noted, it’s a potential life saving yet very powerful drug, avoid adverse outcomes since they do nothing positive for anyone. Obviously treatment centers should be legal in the US and it’s shameful and tragic they are not.

if you want to do iboga: 1: get cardiac heart check/ ECG. 2 if you rule out heart irregularities, then do it with someone you know has experience; 3 watch every video and read everything on Iboga, especially the videos filmed in Africa with Bwiti music. 4. try 5gms of rootbark, 24 hrs after last opioids. 5. manage diarrohea/ nausea with meds. 6. have herbal sleep med like melatonin and valerian day after. 7 if you have been on opioids for more than a year, you will be sick/ malaized for 3 months while waiting for you hormones like testosterone to come back. 8. DO NOT GO TO A DOCTOR FOR ANY MEDS FOR THIS MALAIZE. NO TESTOSTERONE REPLACEMENT.. 9. After 3 months you will be 'normal'. GOOD LUCK

Payge if you get the respond. I can tell you everything I know. I'm on mmt atm, and will be taking iboga eventually. I have a fair amount knowledge on the subject, and can give you solid advice with this line of treatment. However it isn't for everybody, and there are lots of questions that come along with doing this that are very deep, personal, and hard to deal with issues that you have to be willing to discuss, and be truthful about to figure out if you should go forward with it, or not. Many can benefit from iboga, but just like any other addiction therapy you have to be in the right state of mind. Being on methadone is great if you aren't using heroin, or other illicit opioids, and you are going to meetings, talking to a meetings, talking to a pro. about things, or whatever it is, but the digging into the WHY, and figuring out who to go on in life in a new, and healthy way by CHANGING everything in our lives, and minds. Not easy in any way, shape, or forum, but it has to happen in some fashion, and on some level for one to be successful. That I know for certain from the years I have in the trenches.

It's also an option to do several low dose Ibogaine hcl to stop methadone or suboxone
United States will never allow this to be legal, big pharma will lose way too much. And if they go to a digital dollar, they will probably not allow it to be used for that sort of treatment. I like the idea being free from addiction. But I had a bad experience with LSD. Four months if not years, I thought people were following me I thought they could read my mind I almost ate a bullet over it. So I worry, if I was do something like this it would happen again and I wouldn't come back.

i was on 5x 100mcg fentanyl patches per week, plus benzos for 8 years. 9 weeks back, I stopped drugs and 24 hours later i chewed 5gms of iboga. Within a couple hrs, I was having auditory trips and any lights would reveal flashing etc.long story short, I have not had any opiods/ benzos since. I really want to help people to try this. I dont recommend doing this alone.

About a woman named Adrienne who was stuck on heroin, methadone and everything else for years and her journey thru first starting psilocybin sessions on her own and finally finding a guide to take her thru the iboga experience. Great story, movie etc, made me cry, gave me HOPE...We need to get this treatment to become available for people.

I heard you need to go 24 hours without oxy or heroin before you have iboga. The problem is that not many people can 24 hours without their drugs. Most people struggle to go 8 hours.
You dont need to go 24h without opioids usually you can take the ibogaine as soon as you are fully in withdrawal, that's how I did it and it certainly worked

@MAPS You should really think about making a much much shorter video that contains the info or atleast have animated video to keep these younger peoples attention span, which as u know is shortening more than ever, I promise more parents and physicians are watching this that actual addicts that coould really use this info

3 grms sound wrong. i think they start u off with a larger dose at first. it take treat meant correct style. nothing will work if not taken right.
