No words can express how much I would have loved to be in the studio when he created this. American Gangster is my favorite Jay Z album. I like others but this was "grown folks music". I can hear and feel every piece of this music. Dj Toomp is gifted beyond comprehension!
DJ TOOMP RECORDS GIVE ME GOOSEBUMPS ... I REMEMBER BEING A SHORTY BLASTING THIS ALBUM AND NOW THAT I BE ADDING DRUMS IM REALIZING THAT I BE GIVING THE SAME FEELING... THE ZONE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING
Toomp still using that ASR10 that he got from Brother Marquis back in the day. LOL. Been knowing Toomp damn near all my life. Lots of brothers made it from our hood: Toomp, Mike Fresh, Rahim the Dream, Mike Johnson, Robin Alexis! Toomp is real nice on the turntables too.
@@mindovermuzic Still a really dope machine, aside from the SCSI/floppy interface its basically a sample synthesizer with a sequencer on it, and I don't think you can even do half of what you can do on the ASR as far as synthesis goes on the mpc. El-p turned the EPS+/ASR inside out.
I remember watching this video in my junior year in high school back in 07' in my computer tech class lol. DJ Toomp is a dope producer. Easily in my top 10 list
This the kinda of shit i'm talkn about. Old school gangsta slow shit tracks. Now Pimp C was killin em with his. I see my man has been doin his thing with that flow on tracks. I'll bang instrumentals like these all day everyday. Need more of it homie. Fo Sho...
he has that triangle noise or whatever it is in all of them..including all of the ones in the comment above i believe and jeezys-i got money, but its still tight
Crazy Hot beat man! The MPC 60 and the ASR 10.... Now That's Gangsta! Man those are true hip- hop tools. Reason kinda got me neglecting my ensoniq right now. But, It's all love... I named myself after it! lol...
I get where you are coming from. I think it is possible that Secret of the Forest may very well of sampled from that original song as well. So similar if you type in Jay-z Chrono Trigger or anything related to that on google there are a ton of things written about it being sampled from Chrono Trigger.
This track is one of my favs off the AG al. I just wish that on these beat making vids, they would actually break down the elements of the beat, and hit some drum pads, play some keys, etc. DOWN SOUTH!!!
I have been looking for the official instrumental for quite some time. There is one out there but its watered down I'm looking 4 the real thing can anybody help me find it or does someone know where it is exactly? HELP!!!
I heard toomp in an interview today with BHigh talking about its footage to him making this.....now it popped up on my phone lol love it
Literally me too lol
same
Facts
Woww Me too I just finish watching it
Yup!! 🔥🔥

DJ TOOMP RECORDS GIVE ME GOOSEBUMPS ... I REMEMBER BEING A SHORTY BLASTING THIS ALBUM AND NOW THAT I BE ADDING DRUMS IM REALIZING THAT I BE GIVING THE SAME FEELING... THE ZONE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING
Say hello? One of the most beaufitul , if not THE MOST beautiful rapsong ever. Much respect.

@SNEAKSRUINMYLYFE
He also produced "What you know" and "I got your back" for T.I. dont sound nuthin like those tracks... he versatile
A colossal track
he has that triangle noise or whatever it is in all of them..including all of the ones in the comment above i believe and jeezys-i got money, but its still tight

That was a cold song on American Gangster. I couldn't believe Toomp produced it till I read the credits.

American Gangster Is An official Classic
This is a hot beat, Toomp does his thing.
My favorite Jay track ever classic
I didnt know DJ Toomp made this beat
DJ Toomp is no joke. Dat nigga is fierce wit da beats

mad soul on this one. love it
DJ Toomp killed this Say Hello beat
Whooooooaaaaa! Benzino, where'd that guy come from?
Severe Poetry
Came up from back in the day when he was Shy D's DJ #OLDATLANTA

I get where you are coming from. I think it is possible that Secret of the Forest may very well of sampled from that original song as well. So similar if you type in Jay-z Chrono Trigger or anything related to that on google there are a ton of things written about it being sampled from Chrono Trigger.
This man is a fucking legend!
one of the hardest beats
when he was on the ensonic...that shit was hot.
TOP 5 BEATS EVER

One of the hardest beats That I know real talk!
Math Hoffa "Expert Opinion" brought me on in... And this is the session where Benzino & Birdman tried to get on one of Toomp's tracks 😂😂😂

I never knew that it was Jermaine Dupree on the hook.. 💯

The Best Producer of All Time
THE GREATEST DOWN SOUTH PRODUCER !!! TIP, Jeezy & Kanye Can tell How Much this Niqqa is Great
I like that mpc60 !!!
Was tha Ben Zino long time no here
he uses the ride you heard on the intro alot...
for example... Kanye West - Can't tell me nothing and Big Brother
Bra a mad scientist on the beats
1:24-1:36 classic intro I want that for my mixtape!
got that Roland Fantom in there too
Classic........♠🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥➡🆙
This track is one of my favs off the AG al. I just wish that on these beat making vids, they would actually break down the elements of the beat, and hit some drum pads, play some keys, etc.
DOWN SOUTH!!!
Damn he had that ish hella chop'd up!!!!!
Yea wen he waz just playing wit the keys on da ASR, that shit sounded like it could be a whole other beat he could make using that same sample
Dats dope mane
I have been looking for the official instrumental for quite some time. There is one out there but its watered down I'm looking 4 the real thing can anybody help me find it or does someone know where it is exactly? HELP!!!
sick beat
nigga his drums are the fucking shit, and most original in the southern hip hop production game
Was the baseline removed from the release?
I've never heard it before and I listen to the album frequently
It’s way more tuned down & simple on the album so it doesn’t hit the way it did in that studio
17 year old video ... This is older than most kids watching UA-cam right now
@DaGrymReefer
Tom Brock { I love you more and more } that's where the sample is from.
Toomp killed this shit
toomp alwayz got da playa beats
Chrono Trigger!! AHHH!!!
Toomp and Vince Carter could pass as brothers.
Down south music producers from Georgia make the best music
Best track on the record.
This is the same beat from Playaz Circle "U Can Believe It"
lol i never knew southern producers used an ASr 10. Toomps more like an east coast producer in his sound.
We need him and justice league verzus
