Shawn I just picked a video to make a comment that I am absolutely "pasting the ball'! What I would tell people is you have to get your "hands forward ( ball back for me)", "your grip that you teach" and change your task. Lastly, the upper half of your body stay's back through the swing. For me, I concentrate on the ball as if to was sitting on a dime. I remember your video with the "carrot peels". I am trying to sweep the dime. Absolutely insane and easy.... Would love to come to a school just to tighten up or just enjoy Canada. Bravo!!! Walking informercial here.
Right on Jeffrey! Music to my ears! From the words you are writing, you are achieving a solid dose of Wisdom! 💪👊👍 Keep us posted to your developments and new benchmarks!
Great Shawn! I've been following you for about two years and I've seen hundreds of your videos both on your site and here on UA-cam. This one here is, for my needs and doubts, probably the best. I'm always a little doubtful about how to start the backswing in order to swing in the best way in terms of power... whether with shoulders, hips or legs or arms. Doubt whether to pull the stick back to create the pendulum effect...etc. Unsure which direction to initiate the backswing, whether thinking of a straight line back to square back to the target. But now it's crystal clear....in 5 minutes. Thank you!
Thanks for the great golf instruction. I now use the catapult (sledgehammer) swing you have taught over numerous videos. Things that solidified it for me where: strong grip ( this allows wrist hinge up/down not sideways like slapping), the downswing starts behind you (another great video of the past), rotation is at core, not shoulders (wow no back pain) Best swing instruction ever and I now have a golf swing I can call my own. I don’t want to forget the axe video, another good one. Cheers.
GREAT TUTORIAL !!! The Tug-A-War description, vivid, reproducible. miraculous. Just returned from the range. I feel the leverage now. A game changer for me. Yes, this is brilliant stuff. Thank you Shawn
Shawn would say they are only basics! Target/Picture/Outa the Way/ Splash sand/Putt to the picture - sadly there are still many gaps in my game BECAUSE he is so happy RQ!!! And cannot come lay in Aus or Italy!
I’ve been following you for awhile, your swing is just perfection, I’m horrible and bad at a traditional golf swing so I am determined to learn your ways moving forward. Thanks for always putting out amazing content
Great decision! We were made to swing like this! Definitely get into our premium content; www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and a good video series to start with that resumes well what we do is “driver long and straight” and “the senior series” and then you can sink your teeth in all the perfecting videos in all aspects of the game.
Cant wait to get out and try this. I always learned just move the arms in the take away. I slice ALOT!!! I like how you instruct getting the chest out of the way so the arms can move freely
Thanks, Shawn. I struggle with my takeaway but I didn't know why. I never turn my backside towards the target and I lose tilt with almost every shot. Heading to the range now!
I love the pulling of the rope! I don't know why but it reminded me of, "Hitting the ball is not your job". But I did notice between part 1 and part 2 you mentioned the swing is easy as pie and you were going to have some pie before part 2. LOL!
A beautiful one plane (more vertical) swing. Looks so easy on body too. And a gem of explanation on foot pressure. Will try it this weekend on a range. 🤞👏
@@golflessons Finally managed to get on course and I hit a lot of good shots. Bad one were as always caused by early release / bad tempo. With driver hitting fades was super easy. Topped few fairway woods initially but once I placed a ball a touch back they went ok. This is definitely a way forward for me. Thank you!
Shawn - Great video as always. Do you have any task oriented drills to help get to a proper p6 position like I see you at the 4.42 mark. I can sometimes get there without a ball but as soon as I introduce the ball I am about foot away from where I should be and losing angle early
Not about the positions and how to maintain them; the positions take care of themselves when you are on the right task! See “throw the club straight shawn clement” and be amazed at what P6 looks like when you do this well-and then see “how to put the ball in the way of your swing shawn clement” so that you don’t default to the ball trying to find it and stay with throw the club into the direction of flight!
Shawn I have a question, in your premium program, do you have a course that will take you through the steps on how to learn your swing, from setup to the finish. Like is is set up in stages to follow on your site?
Hello Shawn Thank you for your wisdom of the physics of a golf swing, I think there are a lot of false informations out there from other teachers. I only have an understanding problem with the start of the takeway/backswing: A lot of teachers out there teach that the kinetic chain in the backswing is inverse to the downswing, so first arms, then shoulders, then hips. But the understanding of the kettlebell and perpetuum motion tells us, that the hips comes first in the downswing AND backswing, isn't it?. But how can I start the backswing without using my arms? Is this only possible with a trigger? Or should I use my arms slightly? If I do this so, my left knee goes left, then forward (to begin the pump), the right. So it looks very weard and when you swing, it never looks weard.
You are close! Indeed, 2 linked kinetic chains are what form a golf swing; you need to get with our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see the following titles: “using the weight in your swing, axe drill with Savy” and then “arc blur unstoppable momentum series” and “momentum already there before you start the swing” series and of course, the “perpetual motion drill series” which will not only set you straight but also help you polish and evolve it in the true direction for human machines!
Hey Brian! When setting up, you are getting ready to use the weight of the arms and club to deliver a nice dose of momentum into the direction you want to release the shot; when you have a solid grip and a set up ready to go to the target, the shaft will have a natural lean forward and it will appear to be a straight line with the left arm and club. PAY NO MIND TO THAT. On our premium channel, see “grip and arm motion” then all the “release” videos including the “important release update” video which is HUGE. Then see the “throwing series” and once you have a good hang of throwing the club in the direction you want to start the ball, you can watch on video and be amazed at how the arms and club organise to load and deliver. Truly an amazing machine! Once this is good, then you want to have the ball in the way of this with “the goldilocks series” and “predict contact” videos and finally the “target confirmation series” and “stick your finish despite the ball” series.
"Pull get pulled" that set a really good picture in my wee brain. So I'm pulling from top with both arms correct? Edit. Should have watched full video before watching. Momentum from top to start than pull to be pulled
It is a feel; when the kinetic chain engages properly, while the legs are engaging and begin pulling the rest of the body through, many golfers experience the sensation of the arms falling down the plane and through to the target; a great way to feel this is in the “throw the club straight shawn clement” video; an oldie but goodie; and you can tell us what YOUR experience is! Be safe though!
You know I am agnostic when it comes to equipment; however, Cobra is now more than a contender and they need to be considered before any purchase on any club. The VP of innovations and AI is on this week’s podcast and is a great listen; a lifer in the industry and a brother from another mother! 👊👍😀
You are allowing the weight of the arm-club unit to release you in the direction you want to start the ball. See also “throw the club straight shawn clement”

it is called Wisdom in Golf 1.0; then see “senior series” and the “long and straight driver series”

Shawn-there is a straight line with your left arm and club to the ball? Is this only because you’re trying to hit draw? Brian
