Very beautiful information
I Have similar variety of pregnant onion
Thank you! 🙏
I’m in my late 50s and remember my Mom and neighbors having these.
I have not seen them since in over 40 yrs.
There was also another variety the had loriope type leaves.
I remember the lady next door having hundreds of this in her back yard and some the “onion bulb” was the size of a cantaloupe.
My moms got to the size of a large apple but later died from rotting from bottom up.
Thank you for sharing your story about your Mom growing the “Climbing Onion”! 🙏

I'm crying out for its favourite soil mix.... I have grown five from seeds, about a year and a half old now, and am not confident in its soil to grow and flourish. Also, is it ok if the baby bulbs when slightly lifted actually lift or should they grip tight to soil. ( Hence my reason for asking about soil type. ) I have made up my own mix of propagating sand, small gritty stone, zeolite and nursery potting mix. I know it drys out, but is too dry a problem. Thankyou in advance !
Hi, thanks for your questions. The best type of soil for succulents and cacti is one that contains pumice and perlite for good drainage. We do not recommend soil that has peat moss because it is too acidic and retains moisture. Our succulent mix has these ingredients: pumice/perlite, Mycorrhizal fungi, fir bark, coarse washed sand, and slow-released fertilizer. Soil should not be too dry. For your question about the baby bulbs, they should stay firm into the soil to prevent them from falling out of the container. Let us know if you have more questions. Thanks for watching our video! 🙏
