Everyday I get into my car I have a huge smile on my face.
If im in a bad mood and go for a drive, I feel better.
Tires, Tune, Tint, and dogbone and sway bars were my first mods. Did the drop in filter and snow guard removal too. I just recently after 7 years dropped in an IE Turbo Inlet and CAI. Not sure why I waited so long to do that. I may go stage 2 in the spring... and get some springs and new wheels, maybe a front and rear diffuser... we'll see. New to the channel... enjoying the content.

@@y0daaafor stage 1-3, reliability is great. Anything towards hybrid turbo/e is where reliability can be concerning, and even then it really isn’t that bad. These cars take a beating

The springs the clamp the clutch are actually on the pressure plate (the inner fins or whatever), the spring on the clutch disc are just to dampen engagement when u let off the clutch from what I learned in school. But great video! Keep it up!

O2 spacer works perfect for me,I get a cel once in a blue moon then it just clears itself after a bit of driving

Great video. I got my 17' SE and have certainly floated the idea of adding some performance mods to spice it up a bit. I will say, I definitely feel the paint issue you said and wish I knew sooner... vermont has not been kind to it.
I’d definitely more strongly recommend mounts, or at least advise a regular engine mount swapping interval. Mine literally grenaded in EQT Stage 2 91 lol. Dogbone also gives extra strain to the other mounting points. BFI Stage 1 bare minimum.

Newengland GTI GANG. I'm just across the river in NH, Got myself a 2020 GTI with just a stage 1 tune from APR. Planning on going all the way to the stage 3 tune after I get my new clutch kit and supporting pieces. should be good for just about 400 whp on 91 octane. fully street legal too! passes emissions in all states except California (whomp whomp)
I think you should go big body Lexus for your stance car (VIP). Depends what you wanna get in to. The VW CC and Passat look good stanced too. First gen Acura TSX is another great option my du'

You guys in the states missed out on the Skoda Octavia VRS 245. Same as Golf GTI PP, only better looking, more comfortable, more interior space and bigger boot (trunk). Story with mine, totally reliable, except for coolant pump shitting itself at 27000 miles, fixed under warranty. Its an EA 888 gen 3. Running standard tune currently but getting itch to tune it. Dont want to go down the down pipe route, as its a complete ball ache and if it starts throwing up warning lights, your car is off the road in the UK, it will fail mandatory testing. So dilemma is, is there any point in fitting an intercooler and an intake, leaving the restrictive factory down pipe? I could do the flash tune and DSG flash. Supposed take standard car to approx 300 hp.
Love your videos bro it's bad a$$ you are working with strafe but man I can't say I've had good experiences with them, I've been waiting on a front splitter through them for 7 months and they never answer emails. I have a diffuser through them and I love it, so I'm not bad mouthing them but so long as people know hopefully they can change something up with their customer support

I have a 2018 7.5, 3 door, manual, Euro spec, non PP GTI in White Silver, she's done just shy of 30k miles. Just had the paint corrected (2 stage machine polished) and ceramic coated (looks f**kin' mint!!). Apart from swapping out the steering wheel for a clubsport alcantara, she is bone stock. I'm thinking possibly stage 1 map. But definitely want to do brake disc and caliper upgrades and wheels. I want to keep stock ride height and 18 inch rims. Thinking Oz Ultraleggeras in matt graphite and I want 340mm calipers with slotted discs. Any suggestions that won't break the bank and thoughts on that height / wheels set up? Note, I live in North London (speed bumps everywhere) and the GTI is daily driven

im running 29 psi daily on my 15' XD, i still need to install my is38 for the stance/racecar
I will give you one helpful advice, if you haven’t installed it before, it’s sucks. That it all 😂😂😂 definitely worth it brother you’ll be hyped once it’s in and ripping
ECS dogbone was too hard for my 6MT. I had to replace it with something softer. The vibration taking off was stupid. I'm going E85 this weekend..should be fun! :)

You could have cut the mount, remove some meat from it to tone down stiffness. I did on mine and helped significantly, way more drive able. There is a YTuber, I think is lasthuman or something like that, he did the same mount mod.

CTS turbo down pipe did not give me a light and still holding up after 4 years 👍🏻
Is there anything I can do to keep my GTI stick to the road apart from good tyres, dogbone mount and tranny mounts? I plan on going stage 1, that will be enough for me for now. I will might jump in more HP later so keeping my GTI on the road would be nice, lol.

Honestly if you plan it out good whether you want cosmetic or power. Like 3 or 4 grand will get you a long way with these cars
@@ChrisFromKenya yea I already have a cold air, and rims, I’m thinking about lowering springs because we are in vermont and the potholes suck. Probably going to do a diy muffler delete and resonator replacement. Then stage 1 (any thoughts on the best for stage 1)

Yeah I believe regular golf’s come in a 1.8 NA and a 2.0 NA gas and diesel.

ive got a 2015 and I didn’t know about the turbo issue. ima have to look into it cause it’s already tuned.
The turbo issues brought up was limited to very early build date (2014 BD) 2015 cars and happened right away (within the first 100 miles). That issue was resolved long ago. VW caught it super early and resolved it within the first 2 months.

Hey dude so there’s nothing actually wrong with a lot of them it’s just the fact that everybody argues which ones actually make power and which ones are for sound or a little of both. It’s really just the fact that there is like 50 different ones so everyone goes back and forth about them haha
Genuine question, for anyone I hope answers, I always see this and that on to get 2016+ years for the gti’s cause they were just made all around better, I see this really great deal on this 2015, is it really that bad to get something under the year or 2016 ??? Should I not even risk it and wait for something of the newer years to pop up?

How reliable are mk7 modded in a long run ?
honestly that's the one thing i stand by with these. as long as you go threw a reliable tuner and make sure you mod according to what they recommend these will last forever. i bought mine at 52K miles and tuned immediately that week, now at 112K daily driven and it gave me no issues at all (knock on wood)

Just picked up a 2015 at almost complete stage 1. The only thing it's missing is the computer. The car is a blast to drive.... just sucks driving it on the super shitty Pennsylvania roads

Were are you getting that reading from? If it’s the on board boost gauge like on the screen of the car those don’t read correctly, they don’t read off of actually intake pressure. The new turbos in yhe mk8s gti are bigger than the mk7 is20 but still has a smaller housing than a is38 so I don’t think they are making 36psi. A mk7 with a hybrid vortex is making 34-36 peak

Yeah this is knowledge based of building a mk7 not an 8. After driving them all I really think dsg is perfect for more power with any golf r setup and standard is fun with lower power on gtis. But definitely can’t argue with how quick the dsg is.
