also to add a small trick is straighten the wheels, turn the car off, and lock the wheel, it will help ensure you have a straight steering wheel up on re install
Thank you for this video. In watching it a couple times I had the confidence to perform this modification myself.m I ordered the RedlineGoods steering wheel and very excited for it to arrive. Again, thank you for your explanations and keep the videos coming.
Thanks for this DIY, I have used several of your videos to work on my g. Have a 2012 x sedan, just passed 100,000. Installed carbon-leather flat bottom wheel, took like 20 minutes to swap start to finish. Best mod yet. Thanks again!
You can find decent upgraded steering wheels for a lot less than $650. It is a great looking wheel but I wouldn't spend that kind of money. I found some for $250 and that was too rich for me. I bought a leather steering wheel wrap. This video will help me take the wheel of to install the wrap better. Thanks to the OP.
Alex.... can you make a video on how to change the dash lights. There isn’t a video on the net and I’ve never done it before. The spark plug video was great. Got it done quick and easy. Ty
Man, if only I could do it as easily as you. FML the peace with the little white tape that spins around the spindle or whatever I can't get it to go back together correctly ugh
Marty Mart Thanks Marty. Unfortunately I got this wheel because someone crashed into my friends G so not the best circumstances. But, there are always deals and parts floating around.
I appreciated your video and how easy this looks to do. For the most part it was easy even for a non car guy like me. But I want to warn you that it was not simple to pull out the gray wiring plug from the steering wheel buttons to the wiring plug box behind the wheel. You simply pulled it straight out but when I did this it would not budge and when I wiggled it it broke off. Unfortunately this is going to add up to hundreds of dollars to fix. Everything else went off as planned and the new steering wheel and trim bezel I installed looks great. I just won’t be saving any money in the effort.
Great job Alex! I've been a subscriber, but I have a Nelson racing wheel, and was looking for a video on how to remove the stock wheel. Forgot you did one. I'll be on this tomorrow! 😄
Im wondering if the stock wheel Q60 S is different from the G37? I love your redline steering wheel, im considering buying a redline and install into my 2015 Q60 S.
I'm pretty tall and have trouble getting the wheel close enough to myself to feel like I have the control I want. Is there something you could include in the kit, or something else altogether, to make the steering column longer so that it fits more like a race car or how old cars did before airbags?
In order to bring the wheel physically closer to you, you would probably have to purchase an aftermarket hub that is longer. I'm not sure if the factory wheel will bolt to that extended hub or if you would have to run an aftermarket wheel without an airbag.
I see. Do you know of such a company? Or would disconnecting the airbag make the light cut on, and this cause a failed state inspection? (I live in NC where it doesn't pass with the airbag light on) Also, thanks for responding.
There are many companies that produce hubs and wheels. Works bell, NRG, Sparco, Personal, etc. You can install a resistor to get rid of the airbag light. Even if you get the light to go out, you still may fail visual inspection because there is no airbag. Depends how strict your state is.
I know this vid is a little old but I have a 2008 g37 and I got a custom steering wheel but the T30 screws in my steering wheel are tight asf and they don’t budge at all. so i’m wondering what to do to get them loose
Alex, found your channel yesterday. I too own a G37, but mine is the Sedan. It's a 2013 and I love to better that the 03 BMW 325 that I had. Your vids are very informative. Are you an Infinity Technician? Cause you sure know a shitload. Keep up the good work.
I have a 2013 sedan as well! Do you have the sport? Thanks for the compliments. Not an Infiniti tech but I've worked on the platform for about 8 years now so I've learned a lot over the years. Still far from knowing it all!
Actually, I am hoping to get your help? You seem to be one of the most knowledgeable with regards to the Acura Integra. I'll attempt to be brief. This is regarding power door locks on a 1998 Acura Integra LS. Symptoms: 1. Using key at driver door only locks driver door - not passenger door or hatch. 2. Hatch button on driver door only locks and unlocks hatch (I'm thinking that's the way it i designed?) 3.When I use the remote it locks both doors, but not that hatch. 4. If you unlock the car from the driver door, and hold the key, it does not unlock the passenger door or hatch. 5. AND LASTLY... You cannot lock the driver and passenger door from the hatch key location. COULD THIS BE CAUSED BY THE ACTUATOR IN THE DRIVER DOOR, YOU POINT OUT IN YOUR UA-cam VIDEO? Thank you, in advance for whatever help you can offer me. Sincerely, Rick
This is a great channel especially for young people who want to mod their G's. Keep up the amazing work
MikeyG37S Thanks a lot, I appreciate the support!
I agree
also to add a small trick is straighten the wheels, turn the car off, and lock the wheel, it will help ensure you have a straight steering wheel up on re install
Angel Lopez Yea that would help. Luckily there are alignment marks on the wheel and steering shaft which make it a lot easier.

Good shit.. I like how you take stuff apart and also show to put back together and not just say like other Channels “just do the opposite for install”
Wow, what a difference it makes. I love the U shaped wheel. Nice work! Thanks for the vid!!
Brandon Evans Thanks a lot, its got a nice feel!
Another dope video bro, i think im going to change my belt as well. Keep posting videos bro, your offical!!!
Alex.... can you make a video on how to change the dash lights. There isn’t a video on the net and I’ve never done it before. The spark plug video was great. Got it done quick and easy. Ty

Thanks for the vid, everything worked out perfectly but I messed up my steering wheel alignment. Any idea on how to fix ?
Dope! I’m gonna get one for my G! Appreciate it! I will get a wheel from your link. Wheel looks sick.
I love that wheel. I like the flat bottom.
I love it as well. It is very comfortable.
Super Groovy You give me inspiration to do just simple mods to my M37 Keep up the good work.
James Thomas Thanks, glad I can help!

Another great job Alex ! Steering wheel looks amazing... i'm jealous :) (wish I have friends who's getting rid of their G part) ...cheers

AlexKayRN
One quick question, did you get the security key/lock from the parts store to take the wheel off?
Torque specs for the springs inside the steering wheel?
Easy as pie great video keep em coming
awesome work bro! looks beautiful
Peter Arias Thanks! I love it!
Another awesome video. You the bomb. Keep it up!
Tyler Russell Thanks for the support.
Im wondering if the stock wheel Q60 S is different from the G37? I love your redline steering wheel, im considering buying a redline and install into my 2015 Q60 S.
Yooo thanks for the video! I'm getting a carbon fiber steering wheel in the future and this will help.
Glad I can help!
AlexKayRN i finally installed my carbon fiber wheel and this diy saved me $75 on install labor wooooo

Hey buddy great vid. Please send a link where I can get a wheel like that.
Looks awesome! Now I really want one.
Joshua Claypool Highly recommend!
thank u . n good clean job
This is great! I've been wanting to swap out the steering wheel with something nicer. The stock one is so bland 😭
Subbed! 👍🏼
Thanks for the support. I agree, the stock one is very plain. This one really enhances the look of the interior.
Awesome wheel! Do you know if they selected perforated leather? Wouldn't want the entire wheel to be perforated. Just the grips (like yours).
The nice thing about this company is you can literally make it however you want. Just tell them and they'll do it!
You think it would be possible to replace the whole center console unit for a q50 dual screen system
Nice work!! Do they make one for a 2003 maxima?
I know this vid is a little old but I have a 2008 g37 and I got a custom steering wheel but the T30 screws in my steering wheel are tight asf and they don’t budge at all. so i’m wondering what to do to get them loose
Do you have a link on where to buy a steering wheel?
Awesome video!
Omar Betancourt Thanks a lot!
Not looking to change mt steering wheel, but if i did this video wouldve been the first choice.
I really wish they had this steering wheel with red to match the IPL, only reason im not getting it
You can get it custom made however you want.

Doing this wouldn't affect the paddle shifters right
Hey Alex is there any way to remove JUST the controls (bezel) to just replace it without removing so much?
Thank you so much🙏🏼
Great vid 👍🏼 anyone you can refer me to in Southern California? Need to do a refresh on my 94 NSX
Infiniti dealership wants $300 to install a custom steering wheel. That's what brought me here lol
Did you use medium strength blue loctite?
Thank you so much. Another future upgrade for me to add to my list. This is also a necessary upgrade since the stock steering is crap.
Faraz Shah Yea, not a fan of the stock wheel. This one has a nice look and feel for daily use.
Hi Alex. My question is would that steering wheel fit the 2008 G35 model and where you get it from. Thanks.
It will fit the 2008 g35 sedan. It's from redlinegoods. I think the link is in the description. They can help you with making a custom wheel.
Torque spec on the air bag bolts?
Can you put a g35 wheel on a 37?
Does it matter which battery terminal you remove?
Do more G content like many more mods and runs
$650 is a lot for a steering wheel.... 👀... il keep original one....
D Dun I thought the same thing maybe 300-350 is a decent price but almost 700 is kinda pricey
you can prob find one cheaper
D Dun Its a little pricey. I got mine second hand so it wasn't quite that much. Still an awesome piece though!
Any1 had a problem wen putting it back complete and while driving the back plastic scrapes wen turning the wheel?
Hello can you help me with my infiniti g37 horn won't work
Send me a link, didn't see yours
Great video but I’m way to scared to try it lol
Does the clock spring just need to be wherever the center line for the steering wheel is at?
When I did it, it was slightly turned to the left, but I acidently bumped it a little more to the left.
I would try and keep it exactly where it is when you pull off the wheel. It can break if it's not positioned correctly.

I need some advice
Do you need a steering wheel puller?
I didn't, no. It came off without much effort at all. Just leave the nut on a little so you don't smack yourself in the face.
Would this steering wheel fit the 07-08 Sport Sedans?
Eks Is Yes it would. Same interior.
You know what’s better than a steering wheel? Knowledge
where did you get it from?
Got this wheel used but you can get them directly from RedlineGoods
Niceeeee!
just takes patience
Ali Ibarra You got it!
Lol safety
$649? Hell nah
just buy a wheel cover
You can do that too.
