@@scorpian221 Hmmm well if they like short stories then I would recommend they read 'The Emperor's Soul' which I'd say is one of the best fantasy short stories I've read and one of my favorite stories by Sanderson. Mistborn is a great series to start with, it was my first introduction to the Cosmere and while I don't think it's as good as Stormlight it's still very engaging and a fantastic intro to the Cosmere.

    • @ruthlund2831

@@scorpian221 I'd second "The Emperor's Soul" and add "Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell," another short story of his which is also set in the Cosmere. If they like one or both of those, then (as has already been said) Mistborn is a great place to start for the novels.

Hey there... haven't read in a while, should I re-read the beginning of Stormlight Archives (I've already read the first two, like when they came out), or begin finally the WOT, for which I feel a kind of dislike, fromm what I've heard about it, but it's also a pillar of fantasy, so...?
      Any advice, please ?

I think the statement is not "you should read the series," but rather you *NEED* to read it because Sanderson is one of the greatest fantasy authors of our time and few books I have ever opened have been able to measure up to the sheer imagination, skill, wit, character development, worlds, and story as that which Sanderson creates.
I have never closed a book by him unsatisfied.

When I first started Booktube i heard about sanderson and decided to buy warbreaker. But before I could read it I ended up starting Mistborn. And 6 or so Sanderson books later (still havent gotten to warbreaker) and Im hooked on Sanderson. Even after starting Mistborn I thought I would NEVER read stormlight, no way I wanted to invest my time into books so big. But after how amazing Mistborn was i had to give what people declared was Sandersons best series a shot.
Love it! Shallan without a doubt one of my favorite characters. She hits all the boxes for me.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a fantasy series as much as The Stormlight Archive. The combination of a rich and mysterious world that is gradually revealed, convincing and complex characters who develop, and a gripping plot that performs believable twists on the biggest scale, would be hard to beat by anyone. A great video this one too!

The Mistborn books were the first of Sanderson I ever read, and I was in the same position as you after finishing them. I saw how huge the Stormlight Archive books are and was super intimidated, but honestly I'm so happy I decided to pick up The Way of Kings because I ended up enjoying stormlight even more than Mistborn (which is a series I really love). And as big as the books are, they actually read very fast once you become familiar with the world-building and get past some of the set up at the beginning. If you liked Mistborn then you most likely will enjoy stormlight as well!

Great video!! I read The Way of Kings about 2 years ago with the intention of plowing right through all three books (at the time). However, me being the compulsive book-buyer, I get sucked into so many other books and I never continued with The Stormlight Archive. Until now. I started re-reading The Way of Kings and I am not faltering this time around!
To touch on a point which you made about how intimidating this series (as well as any other book I like to call "will kill if thrown" books😊). I found a remedy many years ago to work around looking at a book or series as intimidating or daunting. Instead of looking at the book as a whole, think of it in smaller sections if you will. Basically, take the total number of pages in said book and divide it by 31 (the average amount of days in a month). This would give you the number of pages you would need to read to finish said book in one month. For example, the edition I own of TWOK is 1007 pages, so I would then need to read about 32 pages a day to finish in one month. That is totally doable, and it really helps with easing the mind! Of course, by no means, don't stop at that page count per day if you wish! It's just a very good guideline to lessen the intimidation factor!
Keep up the great work!! I love your channel and content!!! Happy reading!!!
