I remember beginning this series a while ago one afternoon. I had no idea how much I would eventually love Sanderson's work, and I'm really glad this was my introduction to him.
Came here after finishing the third book today. These were my first Sanderson books I've ever read and really the first books I've read in probably about 5 years. I went through all three in about a month. Once I started I couldn't stop and kept thinking about them. One of my favorite stories I've ever read or heard. The final 200 pages of every book grabbed me so hard. I'm now the owner of the Wax and Wayne trilogy and all of the Stormlight archive books as well. Thank you for this. I’ve been trying to branch from YA to adult fantasy because I’m an adult. Brandon Sanderson was recommended because he writes clean, but it’s been hard for me to get into since I only have 15 minutes to read a day. This helped orient me enough to remain engaged
I've only read Mistborn era 1 from Sanderson so far. Now I pretty much intend to complete the cosmere. It's funny how differently how I read all the names in my head though.

Absolutely agreed. Mistborn is great, and so is the sequel, the Wax and Wayne series. That actually brought me on a video idea for you. With the seventh Mistborn book coming (or fourth in the Wax and Wayne series) you'd might like to make a video on 'where were we?' before that book comes out. Now I often read the books again before a new book in a series comes out, but a 'catch-up' video would be great! This could also work for Kingkiller #3, Stromlight Archive #5, Song of Ice and Fire #6 and so on.
What fantastic books, we buddy-read them in your Goodreads Group years ago, endless paragraphs, endless pages full of analysis! How little do I remember of Mistborn... I must re-read this Trilogy in the future.

I was a teen when those movies started coming out and loved them. I also never liked Kelsier. BUT, I was definitely finally loving the book by the Sanderlanche ending and haven't looked back. Sazed is my fav! I think I'm one of the odd ones that prefer the second trilogy though.
Very interesting. I haven't read the second Mistborn trilogy yet, but you have sparked my interest, so I will do that next. If you like mystery mixed with magic, I suggest The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher, and also the Codex Alera series. The latter is a six book fantasy series that is so good I found myself not wanting to put a book away to eat or sleep. It is a series that I was surprised to see Butcher write after the Dresden Files because it is the type of fantasy more prevalent in Brandon Sanderson's books.
I just finished Mistborn and am almost done with The Well of Ascension. I remember finishing the prologue in Mistborn and getting chills because of Kelsiers acts. It set the mood for the rest of the book and I was encapsulated by the world. The prologue of the second book made me think I wasn’t going to enjoy politicking. But man was I so wrong. I was already a Brandon Sanderson fan because of his UA-cam channel, and now I am even bigger fan after reading the Mistborn trilogy. The final book in the trilogy is a masterpiece and it has one of the greatest endings of all time. It’s emotionally impacting, beautiful, tragic, but very optimistic. It subverts expectations in a brilliant way! And it ties up the entire trilogy in an epic way!
The ending is so good! Totally agree it’s emotional and beautiful and not at all cheesy or overdone. It does all of the characters justice as well. Loved Mistborn. I can’t even say why but I do like Storm-light better but I think I found the characters in Mistborn more endearing.
Mistborn fans please please PLEASE listen to the GraphicAudio of the trilogy. It's the closest thing we have to a Mistborn movie with each character having their own VA and awesome sound effects. I NEED more people to listen to them.
I love this series thanks for the video! I cane be the only person who thinks this world would be PERFECT for a video game right?! Especially the magic system! The pushing and pulling, collecting the metals, etc. I’m picturing assassins creed
Wonderfully edited and thorough! Just something I noticed that might make the transitions a little better is that the sound effect cuts off a little before it finishes, maybe try to let it finish but lower the volume of it or something? Once again I’m not complaining, I love the video, just something I noticed that might be something to fix! ❤️
Awesome, thanks for the feedback! 😄 I'm always looking for ways to improve, and after re-warching I see what you mean about the sound effect. Will definitely keep that in mind next time 👍
I totally agree Mistborn needs a video game and my first thought was "Dishonored", which is one of my favorite games (even if I am terrible at stealth games usually). Thise games have the same feel to it as Mistborn (Dunwall is how I envision Luthadel in my head, haha), so it might be fun to see what Arkane could do with the Allomancy mechanics.
I enjoyed the first trilogy just fine. Read them after I finished up Wheel of Time. Now I’m in the middle of the Wax and Wayne series and I immediately dig it more than the og trilogy, probably due to an affinity for westerns.

I'm going to start reading the final empire this month I have enjoyed most of Sanderson work so hopefully I will enjoy mistborn
I am a quarter of the way through the first one and I am really enjoying it. I just want to read it at all times.
Makes the reader feel invested in the story
That had me chuckle...investitior..and stuff
7:05 she earns it. Love these books.
Edit: 11:16 i agree 100% it wasnt annoying. It was very well done.
Mistborn got me back into reading fantasy, so it has a special place in my heart. Going to reread them before the Lost Metal releases
I plan on re-reading them before Lost Metal as well 😀
Great video! And I am one that would love some spoiler filled lore videos!
Glad you enjoyed man! Awesome, I'll definitely work on some Mistborn lore videos!
I love this series thanks for the video! I cane be the only person who thinks this world would be PERFECT for a video game right?! Especially the magic system! The pushing and pulling, collecting the metals, etc. I’m picturing assassins creed
PS big oops i posted this before watching the whole video! Glad I was the only one who thought it would be so fun to push and pull a character around!
In my mind I always picture Mistborn being adapted to animation. Something like in the style of Netflix Castlevania where it’s very anime inspired
I have to agree. I don't see live action working with this.
Will definitely keep that in mind next time 👍
@@CapturedInWords of course! I honestly think your videos are insanely well executed and put together, definitely top tier stuff!
I’m on my tenth listen to Michael Kramer’s narration on Audible. One of my favorite 5 or so books of all time.
Lets give Mistborn some love
Make more videos convincing me to read books so I can combat my problem of listening to negative Amazon reviews....
It would also be cool to see the Mistborn series animated in a way like Arcane.
I've never been much of a reader despite always wanting to. A chapter into book 1. I hope I make it to the end
with this video you convinced me to buy the stormlight achive
More Mistborn, please!!!!
I am currently reading Mistborn and I fuckingg love it!!
Awesome!! Glad you're enjoying it!
I enjoyed the first trilogy just fine. Read them after I finished up Wheel of Time. Now I’m in the middle of the Wax and Wayne series and I immediately dig it more than the og trilogy, probably due to an affinity for westerns.
Listening to the Empire Audiobook pretty good so far.
Never liked a video faster than this one. 100% agreed people should read Mistborn if they haven’t.
Mistborn is SO good! Thanks for watching
