Finally the memes of double team in the anime vs games can end, it’s so beautiful
Meanwhile in another universe: Today im showing you this new pokemon romhack where instead its a strategic turn based game!
Pocket Crystal League
Pokemon:unloaded
Your Only Move is Hustle moment
We really don't need this
Ah yes, the universe where Elden Ring is turn based.
I swear that i created something like this on scratch 5 years ago but i am happy my childhood dream has come true
Never stop dreaming ✌️
Yup. This was i always asking for. Basic console controller have 4 buttons. Then make one button for each move for the Pokémon. Same as classic game only have 4 move. Then control movement by joystick. Like the anime trainers just ask their Pokémon to dodge an attack. But in classic game we can't do that , the have of Pokémon battle for me is never there( like in the anime). I hope Nintendo make this version real instead of turn base
This game was in development since forever, there was a beta 10 years ago, and I believe the first preview camp on 2009
i love scratch
@@zulming8101No, this should only be reserved for spin-off games.
Turn-based is baked into the game and should never be removed.
Thank you for reviewing this amazing game Flux! It's super well known within the Spanish-speaking demographic (as this game was developed in Spain) but a lot of my English-speaking friends didn't have any idea it existed! I personally love this game, it was so fun!!!
Love to see great games regardless of the language
Im glad i found out about this as i used to play a pokemon fangame similar to this one but it was incomplete
I might download this very soon
english or spanish
HEAR ME OUT (which you cant lol 😂), Can anyone let me know that I can make a better like this game but with any copyright, I can code, but I'd really like the reassurance if the game doesn't feel like a cardboard cut out.
Any discord I can check? Any online community or channel I can get educated on, since the internet are the people and the people are the internet so I'd hope you guys know what should be added in this game or not. Thanks for the inspiration creator this game is great!
@@FluxYT108is there pokemon community on discord i can join? Having a hard time finding one.
Gotta love how this fangame plays much closer to Pokemon anime with the clashing moves.
Yep, that's what I always wanted a pokemon game to be. As awesome as those cool anime fights
multilayer mode would go crazy!!!
@@noyl3730 It certainly would.
A little correction with the Post game it goes from kanto to Kalos and there's a battle frontier that you can do parallel to Kalos, mostly because the Kalos league is centered around exploring HUGE labyrinthine Virgin Islands which is very heavy on exploring and well if that's not your playstyle you can do the battlefrontier while taking a break from the comet islands (Heavily recommend a building called "the zone" because yes, IT IS a ROGUELIKE mode in the abttle frontier), also hm abilities stay, even if you forget the move, so for example if your pokemon learns cut once it can cut trees forever even if it forgets cut, you can press Z in the first summary screen of any Pokemon to scroll through their external abilities.
You don't know how much i love the hm in this game, is just too good
I followed this fangame since 2014, now is in its last beta phase, but the creator said that it's compatible with the final version. I can add more info of this game and I recommend it over all if you want a long game. It's ambiguous to say when is the postgame, cause after the league, you have to get the 8 medals of the original games and each league till sinnoh, after that the battle frontier that have lore and it's 1000 times better designed than the unfair of game freak, except the factory in my opinion. Rest of the builds are perfect, even the tower is funny, challenging and makes you train more pokemon. When you win a battle frontier brain, the main story continues in another region of the map, the comet islands, I can swear that the design mapping on that is a never seen before in pokemon games with a new way of exploration rooms. 5th gen league and befroe are included after the battle frontier too, so the game has content for hundreds of hours. One last thing, you can choose between 2 music game mode tracks, the pokemon music or the custom by the creator, it has a lot of 2000-2010 bangers in 16bit and I'm headbanging all the time with this so, give it a try
"except the factory" me trying to fight Sasha's Kyogre for the 1456521th time with wharever Pokémon the Luck Gods decide to give me. Still gives Nightmares to this day
@@KitsuneFaroe or the classical, here you got a bonsly and a deino, random ivs and evs. Who do you preffer? Ah yes by the way, your first opponent is a max stats azumarill with huge power, power up punch and aqua jet. You need a streak of 8 to achieve a victory, good luck (true story) 😅
If we can take PokeMMO's multiplayer and Pokemon Reloaded's battle system....IT WOULD BE THE PERFECT GAME !
Look no further because there exists PMUniverse, which does exactly that.
Great idea in its own ways.
But how approachable is it to a non-gamer?
You always got to ask this question even as a gamer.
@@candyneige6609 Well Thats Mystery Dungeon.
@@Tahjiri But it does take PokéMMO's multiplayer and Pokémon Reloaded's battle system to make it the perfect game as the original commenter described it.
This is pretty cool, and pretty much like something I wanted as a kid (although me as a kid wanted the battles to be in 3D, largely inspired by Spectrobes), although nowadays... I feel this wouldn't really work without making some pretty major concessions on what has become the standard of the Pokemon-series. Like, the actions all being real-time in a competetive setting would make actions like switching Pokemon pretty difficult to manage, the only real way to streamline this would be to do a scroll-wheel like in Legends Arceus... and even that could be a bit slow and clunky. Having 4 moves on a controller also would mean 4 buttons are occupied, generally complicating how to map the controls. Then there's also how certain attacks function, the range and AoE some attacks have realistically would definitely require some rebalancing, and some attacks just couldn't keep their original effects, like, how would Aerial Ace keep its guaranteed hit, same as Disarming Voice, and in general the stats for evasion and accuracy shouldn't matter anymore since accuracy in an action-game should be primarily decided by the players inputs, at best accuracy-lowering moves should mess with what the player sees, but not exist as actual stats anymore, and in general move-accuracy would translate differently. Double Battles would also be basically impossible unless one Pokemon would be controlled by the AI. So... it feels like it's already moving away from how the mainline games play, so something like that would work way better as a spin-off, not bound by restrictions like stats, team size, how attacks specifically function or how many moves a Pokemon has. Then there's development in full 3D...
So yeah, while it's cool to see something like this with an approach closer to the mainline games, I wouldn't hold my breath for anything like that from the official side outside of maybe as a spin-off like Pokken.
Yeah, Pokémon Reloaded has its how system and meta, like Speed having a whole different meaning and effect than the original games and PP working really different. I will explain how things you mentioned work in this Game:
Scrolling through Pokémon can be done directly by pressing 1-6 on the keyboard or using a specific key to scroll through them, in addition to opening the menu, of course. Using 4 keys for moves is not a liability when moving and using moves is mostly the only thing you do in Battle. Attacks that don't miss are homming in this game. Lowering Accuracy makes the moves to derail in an angle from the direction you casted them, the lower the accuracy the bigger the angle. Evasion reduces the bounding box of the Pokémon if i'm not mistaken. In Double battles the Pokémon you don't control moves automatically without casting any moves and you can switch control between them by pressing the same key you use to switch pokémon. (they still kinda feel clunky, but they work).
In addition I will mention items are limited to 6 in trainer battles, as well as other things like healing moves an switching are limited too.
Some moves like teleport have new use in battles. Some news were added like Porygon Z having an attack that inverts the movement controls.

I love that hes just going over basic pokemon facts throught the entire battle mechanics phase and its adorable.
This is really cool.
There was a game like this on Roblox before it got removed :(, no it was not brick bronze or project pokemon. It was called Pokemon Adventure, though it was very much a rough game (but honestly so fun). I've been looking for games like that one for sooo long, thank goodness it's here ^^ I've also have played another game like this where there are real time battles, but I forgot what it was called!!
I know exactly what game you were talking about, it was so much fun even if a bit rough looking. It really sucks it got taken down during the Pokémon game purge along with brick bronze
You should try PokeXGames
It's actually also possible to breed legendaries in this game; in fact, that's how you're _supposed_ to shiny hunt them!
Granted, it's not as simple as just grabbing a Ditto...
The game going to make will allow that too, but only for lower hierarchy legendaries like Entei or Celebi, maybe Mewtwo.
@@JacksonVoet In this game it's doable with all Legendaries, up to and including ones like the Creation Trio and Arceus.
The catch is that in order to breed legendaries, you need to breed them with a Mew. Otherwise, it won't work (this also makes Phione harder to obtain, as now you have to breed two Manaphy to get Phione; Ditto won't work).
@@Hyperneosonic97 Ah. I’m just gonna create a super rare item that makes a Pokémon shiny. However, I will make it so that if you breed a special unown with the breeding Pokémon of this game, you have a tiny chance to get a special preevolution of the Creation Trio, that can evolve into one if them.
@@JacksonVoet Funny, because this game does something somewhat similar? Except by breeding certain Pokemon you get their baby forms. One of the fakemon is called Latly, a pre-evolution of Latios and Latias, obtained by breeding the two (if you breed Latios or Latias with a Mew, you'll instead get the egg of the corresponding twin), which evolves at level 40 based on its gender.
@@Hyperneosonic97 Man, when I graduate from college and start working on my thing, I might want to consult this guy to avoid feeling like I’m ripping em off.
The diagonal movement's adds so much to the game XD love it
i can see this having a super competitive 2vs2 online... this is actually very interesting idea for pokemon
Try PokeXGames for 2v2 PvP, best for real time battling
Awesome review dude. You had me at real-time battles, but also elaborated on the story and downfalls, even down to your least liked part of the map. Thanks for taking the time man
games fun but it can be very very hard, especially gym battles, and moves like double team are usually useless because the ai knows which one you are, but the game has pvp so it works well there.
Bruh wtf gym 1 with 6 mon ok
There's a fully evolved Pokémon that's illegal ok
Spamming moves ok
Spamming full restore that's when I want to rage quit wtf this is so dumb
It's not even about difficulty at this point that's just bs
I had a bit of a hard time against that as well, but Bayleef hard carried me with Synthesis
Damn, that's a severe case of skill issue
@@FluxYT108 wait how did u get to chikorita before having rock smash i though u needed that well doesnt matter i beat him with pignite and machop
Its not that hard when you understand how the ai play for example theres two type of ai one where his movements will be random and the hard one that will always stay close when it have enough pp to attack and then run, and how status effects stay the whole fight unless the poke get healed and also movements that boost your stats can get stacked x6 times this combined whit attacks that get boost dmg each hit make for a deadly combo where you can onehit pokes before they get healed, some pokes are too fast? go whit a poke whit a lot of speed and toxic spikes or just have a low tier attack like pound that uses low pp for the movement. The only hard part of the game for me was the batle island where every tower has his unique rules, being the one where you pick random pokemons every batle my favorite one.
I am SO happy this showed up in my recommended tbh, absolutely love the battles so far even if I haven't played too much yet. Ima see if I can get my friend to play this too :3
thank you for including mega gengar in the thumbnail that got my attention and curiosity. if it were regular gengar i would have probably assumed i'd heard of this game already.
Digimon world championship but Pokémon immediately popped into my head, Altho you don’t directly control the digimon like this in that game
This is sick! I’m making a game with a similar concept except the combat is like a platform fighter and the creatures show up in the overworld. Other changes too but the idea of a pokemon like game with real time combat is at the core.
I remeber playing this ages ago. Maybe gen 6 wasn't even out
My dream game since childhood has finally been created
I remember I was about to get the Red version for gameboy in 1996 because all my friends were obsessed with it, and this is how I imagined the gameplay waiting in the dentist’s office the day before I finally got it.
Reminds me of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon where the game actually played very similar to this game.
Just minus the atk/skill clash and game modes but items had physics of clashing with enemies or walls so u could use what items u find and use the ones which have negative effects like exploding / poison seeds on enemies which would affect them if thrown.
OMGGG, This was needed so hard!!
Great videos with hardly any spoilers! I'm going to enjoy playing this
I think the Pokemon should still move by themselves, since thats more akin to what they do in battles in the show, trainers can still call for attacks, maneuvers, blocking, dodging etc. Calling for dodging for instance, would greatly increase their chances of evading the attack, but the Pokemon that does not have a strong bond may not listen to what the trainer opts for.
Tbh to me this seems like an awkward mix of mystery dungeon and "shoot 'em ups".
While I appreciate the want to approach the anime... the actual pokemon fights in the anime are not really what you'd expect from an actual "trainer" or "coach". Typically, a coach/trainer should be happy to stand by the sideline and let his pokemon/trainee to fight in the way they have been trained. (I.e. if a pokemon is trained on a certain strategy, it should not need to be told what to do by its trainer 24/7)
(The only exception to this would be something like battle bond greninja in the anime.)
In sports, coaches tend to offer specific advice to help athletes avoid tunnel visioning for example/ or help improve their mood/focus. Point being... most of their work is in the training ground and not "on the field".
This, however, would make for a lackluster game probably since it would have a very 2nd-person feeling to it.
Meanwhile, the actual turn-based strategy game in the main series is actually surprisingly faithful to this "awkwardness" of the anime, where each trainer patiently waits for their opponent to declare a move before declaring their own. A further approximation to the anime could be made by including a sort-of "reaction" turn where you can tell your pokemon to dodge-counter-etc but that would be too complicated imo (the speed stat would mean nothing in the counter cases for example)
And not to mention... the turn based game is pretty damned interesting as it is
I agree with the turn base game
I remember playing this game when it was beta 1.2 or somewhere there(Sorry for my english). And it was really fun. I'm happy to see that it has evolve from a masterpiece of game intl a godpiece of game.
I would love to make my own fan games and rom hacks like this, but I have absolutely no idea how to code anything. Really wish more fan games would implement this kind of gameplay, cause it'd definitely make me play more of them
This was a pretty explanatory video, thank you Flux.
Glad it was helpful!
@@FluxYT108 Whenever a new video shows up, I'm going to swing by to leave a like for sure.
I found out about the beta of this game in 2014 and since then I have waited 10 years for this moment, I am very happy that it is finally out and is getting some visibility. Enjoy it, it's an amazing game. For me the best fangame of all Pokémon!
Full length long play let's go!!!!
This looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! ALSO DO y’all remember that Pokémon fan game POKÉMON GENERATIONS?! AHHH NEED THAT ALSO
I had an extremely similar idea for this kind of Pokémon game. I think the most prominent difference between this and what I had drafted is the PP system. I was thinking the moves would work a little similarly to Wizard of Legend’s spell system, where the individual moves would have their own cool downs, depending on their power.
But I have a feeling this game is a bit more balanced with it’s move system, since you’re not facing hordes of enemies and spamming one move all the time lol
The battle system kind of reminds me of Pokemon Rumble, which was a really fun game.
What was the game at 0:09?
This looks AMAZING!
What's that fan game with the Ralts in the intro?
Looks sick
What was the rom hack at the start? With the Ralts fighting the Braixen?
im sorry did you say "in the works for fifteen years"? christ lmao. thats... dedication, i hope.
What was that game poken tournament? The one that was an action game, but wasnt a typical pokemon game either. Id love to see a game like that, but still have a selection of all the different moves like normal pokemon, and actual action fights, and of course we have to have to have actually weakening and catching pokemon like the main games, and full team building. Maybe you start a battle throw out your first pokemon, and fight with that one until it faints or you switch for whatever reason. Having dodging being an actual thing, not just a chance to miss, make the moves nice, and flashy like the anime. Id be in pokemon heaven. Wouldnt even need every pokemon, just like a 250-300ish number like Arceus. A good mixture of fan favs, making sure they get all of them in there, and then throw in the rest based on popularity. If done right I garuntee itd be one of the highest selling pokemon games ever. Itd easily match arceus at least, and if they do it correctly, which seems to be a tall order for nentendo and the pokemon company now adays, but if they did, it would absolutely be the pokemon game of everyones dreams. I love the turn based normal pokemon, but damnit I want the anime in a game. I want to actually control the pokemon, the timing of things, be able to dodge, all that good stuff that comes with an action game.
If you combine the two thinks you dont like they cancel eachother out. When you rematch old trainers their pokemon have leveled up and you can use them to train new pokemon or even your old ones
This game came out at the right time
If it wasn't for gen 6 super training with damn balloons and legends a lot of Pokémon players wouldn't be receptive to try something like this but at this point real time battle on 2d sprites it's just perfect charming nostalgic enough while also novelty enough PERFECT FOR FANMADE COMMUNITY
this looks like a fusion of concepts from regular pkmn games and pkmn mystery dungeon and pkmn ranger series
Now to figure out how to play this on steam deck 😤
This game looks great
I had low expectations here! I thought it was going to be like Pokken or Unite or even something like Mystery Dungeon, but this is actually really intuitive and just alters a familiar concept in something that works! Arguably less strategic in exchange for more combative gameplay, but fun! I like it!
"There should be a training facility to get more exp." "These random trainers kept calling me wanting rematches and it ruined the flow of the game."
Neat its a combo of normal pokemon, an action game, and the ATB system of final fantasy, I love this, now we need it in a full 3d action pokemon game. Gym badges, league, all the normal pokemon stuff, just with this kinda battle system. Imagine jump dodging like a flamethrower, and instantly countering it with a grass move repeatedly, and being able to actually win a battle with a pokemon 10+ levels above you, and type advantaged, but skill actually makes you stand a chance against it. Not much of one if they have any skill at all, but still possible. *Activated anime plot armor*
That's literally what this Game is except the 3D part.
Did that game have some speed up button?
So just a question. Would you recommend that pokemon have both physical and special moves regardless of what their stats are? For example, would it be good if idk say a Kingambit were to have flash cannon for some ranged option?
Not really, I just meant to have a good pool of pokemon with a wide range of moves. Like my Crabominable had all phys attacks but alteast the boosts from Power Up Punch give some variety. My Alakazam had Teleport+Calm Mind, Pikachu had Quick Attack and Charizard had fly to dodge so just use what you're good with.
Ah got it. I guess if a pokemon can be a mixed attacker then I could do something like that
reminds me of that new game Astral Arena with its real time combat
the supereffective sound from pokemon tower defense
this... this is amazing I really like a pokemon game that changes the battle entirely
the pokemon that I know right now that changes the battle is this pokemon reloaded and pokemon crown
This is really cool

It is not in Gen-2. It is in Gen-4: DPPt, HGSS. In Sinnoh only for cute pokemons tho, but in Kanto and Johto it is for any pokemon in your first slot.
It came before and later again in Kanto in Gen-1 Pokemon Yellow, and its remake: Let's go PE.

I played something like this earlier this year. It's called Palworld.
If I'd known about this when I was 10 years old, I'd explode.
I was super excited for this, bcuz it sounds like my dream pokemon game, but it doesn't look as good as I thought... Being a stand alone download & not a romhack totally turns me off... but u did a good job on the video♡
Thus would be amazing in an official game
What fangame or ROMhack was that that had the 2D Braixen?
Wasn't the Digimon championship for the ds the same game except we had to train them in cages?

Did you dowloaded all files? Does the data folder have them? Is the Game placed on a folder it can writte to? Try decompressing it in a folder on the desktop. And make sure you have dowloaded the Full version instead of Delta.
Cool
Anything mentioned about online?
FRICKEN FINALLY YES😭😭😭
FIFTEEN years ?
bro your videos are incredible continue like that!!!
can i donate to the team behind the game?
Damn this looks rlly good :O Is there any way for ur pokemon to be AI Controlled? or are you forced to play it urself?
No, it's not an idle game. Its meant for you to play
This looks so cool, but i feel like making the stronger special move destroy the other gives too much weight to strong specials. If it were properly mapped from whay we know, they would either pass through each other, or the stronger would be weakened to the difference between the moves and the weaker wouldnt make it through.
That said, I'm definitely going to try it out.
The difference is that stronger moves take more of your pp bar, so I think it's still balanced. You can go for multiple smaller attacks and still get value even if the stronger move bursts through one. I'm sure its scaled with the pokemon's stats too, can't be certain though.
If i cant play on a portable, its not worth it. Can you play this on phone?
What emulator is used?
How do you obtain fakemon in this game
i would play if there was a rare candy cheat or something cause i tried at first and it was genuinely unfun grinding especially without an exp share where only the pokemon that kills gets exp
The exp share is on route 2 from an assistant once you show 50 Pokémon in the Pokédex.
A tip I would give is to iterate your Team from the get go. This pretty much solves the whole leveling problem. Gym Leaders and other important trainers scale from the Pokémon with the highest Levels on your Team. Otherwise they would have a level similar from the trainers you find un routes. (This was Made like this because some people were complaining at being overleveled and brezzing through the Game)
I’m picking fighting types and reliving the legacy of Goku 2 days
where can we get this game?
Damn I wish I can play this on an emulator or handheld or something.
well i don't know whhen i'm gonna be able to play it, but i'm definitely downloading it before nintendo shut it down
horde survivor pokemon would be great
actually pokemon yellow was released first where pikachu follows you
But.. how do I get past the first battle? This is harder than Elden Ring despite choosing normal xD
when do you get exp share?
