Bob Baffert exacta box...I've seen it a million times in California. Won't pay huge, but won't be terrible.

Is the Preakness contentious like Breeders Cup? I tend to bet horses that raced in Grade 1. What are ur suggestions long shots ? Thanku
No I would say the Preakness is a lot easier and more predictable/formful than Breeders Cup. Breeders' Cup has the best of the best facing each other and most horses in the race have a shot. To me it is a easier race to handicap than the Breeders' Cup. Not this year though, haha!
Class wise this is strictly a 2 horse race and unfortunately they are both Bafferts
On paper it looks that way. I can't the money Midnight Bourbon is taking. The horse's odds should not be below 4-1 or 5-1.

11:07 “I don’t even know if I wanna bet this race…”, and then a lukewarm endorsement of 10 Concert Tour and 5 Midnight Bourbon. Even without the doping headlines, these classics are extremely difficult to predict, although as you point out, the Preakness has more logic to it than the Derby. One of my problems with these races is the lack of coupled entries. To go with Concert Tour, you’ve got to assume that the Baffert stable is okay with him messing up their chance at a triple crown. Coupled entries, and maybe I could take it more seriously. BTW, no problem with the lukewarm endorsement. Pretending that you have a strong opinion when you don’t is the quickest way I know of to lose at the racetrack. Betting is a matter of getting all your brains to say yes at the same time…
Exactly right. I am glad it came across that way Pierre. I don't care if it the Preakness or one of the classics or not, if i don't have a strong opinion and the odds are not right, I am not betting. I will save my money for a maiden race that I am confident about any day. I think Concert Tour has the best chance of winning but I don't think the odds will be high enough to make it worth betting. 5 Midnight Bourbon will have ok odds but I a not that confident in the horses chances.

I'm with you. I will make a small bet on a 10/5 exacta box. Got to make a 3/5/10 bet. No big money this time, a few small bets. You can never count Mike Smith out; he is always worth at least a few $'s, especially if you are not fully committed to any one horse and jockey combination.

There are 2 horses that can win this race and that is Medina Spirit or Midnight Bourbon. When they come to the 1rst turn Medina Spirit will be in the lead Concert Tour will be 2nd off Medina Spirit's outside flank. If Midnight Bourbon is 3rd a length or 2 behind he will be in the perfect spot to have a big chance. In the stretch Concert Tour will start regressing half way down the stretch and then we racing fans will be able to enjoy a ding dong stretch duel between Midnight Bourbon and Medina Spirit . It's going to be something special.
I pretty much see it the same way. Those on the front end or near the front should have the advantage and should be the horses that will probably win the Preakness.
Bob Baffert's ego has only one goal now and that is to win the Triple Crown.. He will not allow Concert Tour to win . Only Medina Spirit will be allowed to win much like Dortmund was not allowed to win in American Pharaoh races.
I am interested to hear the reaction or storylines if Medina Spirit or Concert Tour wins the Preakness. The press will have plenty to write about.

I have plenty of balls Tony when I have strong opinion and have confidence in a race. So you just pick somebody in a race just to pick a horse? If the odds are right it is going to be either the 10 or 5 for. me. I will have to go back and watch the video. I could have sworn I put that up on the screen.

I’m with you , Honor across the board , maybe if the Baffert’s horses don’t hit the board ( unlikely) it could pay pretty good , I guess . If they make it ( likely) the show won’t pay much , I’m having second thoughts about the hole thing, good luck.

Baffert is going to give Medina Spirit a nice cocktail Saturday morning, he's going to get loose on the lead and it will be a repeat of the Derby.
The press will have a field day with that result!
i dont agree on concert tour as the horse to beat at all. he only raced against really small fields plus the fact he finished 3rd out of a 6 horse field his last race.
Yes it will be interesting to see how he bounces back off that last race. I thin k the 10 post is not ideal either.

Loved the preak . I caught Oxbow too. , Right now I don’t know. This race will be a “ Oh , the cheater won “ or “ Oh ,The cheater lost “ . Will I think that way from here on , I don’t know . I’m not betting Baffert , I’d like to know besides not betting how to boycott.If I bet ,,,,Honor across the board is my bet There will be other races to get into though I guess . Good video, as usual. You echoed my feeling about betting on this race. I don't know what I am going to do, there is a small chance I won't bet. I like Medina Spirit still, he seems to really have a lot of heart. But I try to avoid betting on favorites. If I could get Midnight Bourbon on 8 or 10 to 1, that is probably how I will go. Otherwise: 25 across the board on KEEP ME IN MIND?????
Suggest waiting til DRF comes out with the past performances and handicap the race like you would any other. I also like the closing effort of Keep Me In Mind, but for him to get there, the pace has to collapse. I don't see the kind of closing power of a Zenyatta or a Calidoscopio. I could be wrong. I am on the same page as you Vampire Dog. we are thinking the same way.. Only bet when you will get a nice return for the risk. I hardly ever take a short price. Ever. If Keep Me In Mind gets enough pace to run it shouldn't have a problem hitting the board. On paper it doesn't look like that will happen.

I think Medina Spirit is the horse to beat, and I do like Midnight Bourbon, so I will play them two on top over (same) and Rombauer, hopefully closer early and Pletcher's Unbridled Honor. Good luck!

Medina Spirit is head and shoulders above this group. Forget the doping nonsense; barely detectable amounts of the drug in his system, certainly not enough to affect his performance. Pimlico has a short stretch that does not favor closers.
That is true. Near the front is where you want to be. Medina certainly will have an excellent chance to win this one two. I would love to see the drama and how the story plays out if Medina Spirit wins and heads to Belmont with another Triple Crown on the line! The press will eat that up.

I am not sure if it is 90% but Derby Horses seem to hold an advantage in the Preakness.
First had concert tour. Seen work .seemed breathing loud and hard.????.midnight boubon elimated from start. Derby.. gets hugh upscale jockey get him out gate. Off front.PACE. EVEN ASMUSSEN SAID WORKING LILE MACHINE. IS. SAID ONE OF 2 OF MOST PHYSICAL HORSES EVER TRAINED. SMART TOO. SAID GROW INTO STRONG BODYM AGREE. THINK SHOW IT. SATURDAY. SEE
Hopefully he can get out of the gate and control the pace or at least be a part of it. Would be nice to have a little piece of redemption with that horse. Always seems close.
I'm playing it,I like the 2 and 9 Chad Brown horses,but if Medina Spirit gets out and runs anything like at the Kentucky Derby , he'll win again

Speaking of D Wayne Lukas and the Preakness, first big racing score was, 1999, Charismatic, Menefee, and Badge, did a 3 by 3 with all trifecta, hit $1,024.90, my first big racing score, so very devoted fan of the Preakness!! Good luck to alll!!!

I would pick Concert Tour , or Rombauer, or Midnight Bourban, due to speed....not Medina because racing back to back to too hard to accomplish...then again, who gets bumped, who is on the outside....Essential Quality would have beat Medina if he hadn’t had to run a longer race from being on the outside..

@@Weekendhandicapper you bet a horse that you feel is goin to win.you do not go up to make your bet and say nevermind i do not want to bet the 7 horse cause the odds are to low, give me the #5 horse.n after the race the 7 wins and you are talking to your self cause you had the winner but changed your mind..bet the horse you like the best n hope for high odds.some races are chalk.some races a chalk wins with big odds underneath....sometimes long shots win....good luck!!

I do! I was at Churchill Downs when he ran the Belmont and lost his shoe and lost the race. Silence fell over the room. I never will forget that.
