So very special and a hymn of praise and glory of a musician that opened us the door to the eternal longing to rise up and travel through space and time...taking with us our love, excitement but also loneliness and sadness. An Odyssey of a life...a life of longing...Michiel you brought it all together in your beautiful ode for Vangelis and I don't know anybody better than you that could have created such a beautiful piece of music in his memory...

je ne suis pas impressionné par les improvisateurs en matière musicale; je suis moi-même capable de lire correctement un texte dont j'ai pris connaissance au préalable; ou de parler plusieurs heures, sans notes, d'un sujet quelconque; je peux même passionner mon auditoire, si j'ai choisi le sujet parmi ceux que je maîtrise et qui m'intéressent.
Pourquoi un musicien, qui s'exprime toute la journée en se servant de sa tête et de ses mains ne pourrait-il pas en faire autant dans son domaine? Mais lorsque le résultat est beau, que cette beauté est manifeste dès la première écoute, il faut le dire.

I am not impressed by improvisers in musical matters; I am myself able to correctly read a text that I have read beforehand; or to speak for several hours, without notes, on any subject; I can even fascinate my audience, if I have chosen the subject among those which I master and which interest me.
Why couldn't a musician, who expresses himself all day long using his head and his hands, do the same in his field? But when the result is beautiful, when this beauty is evident from the first listen, it must be said.
