Enhance trees don’t feel good at all. I won’t be holding my breath. I’m currently on beta trying to find my alt that might be my main because I don’t see Blizz helping shaman in PvP at all.
Always played shammy but sick of the button bloat and lack of survivability. I think I'll be giving it up until I'm completely sure that some of the issues are addressed. That being said they can still be fun but I'd rather play a class that are constantly given love and guaranteed to be in a good spot.
If shaman goes live like this its dead on arrival. Modern dungeon design requires more than 1 defensive. Elemental is now probably one of the worst designed specs in the game? Talent trees allow for NO flexibility, and hero talents revealed how strained the talent point distribution is within enhancement tree. Im not holding my breath for changes, they wont come. I'll be maining paladin or surv hunter
Changed my mind I’ll be going either SUV or BM mainly because I’ll have a new baby and will need an easy time for the limited play I’ll be mostly doing world content and I like the fantasy of having your pet as your companion. Also mudskippers are so cute and running round with a goofy boi sounds fun.
I’ll leave the biggest tip I can give to any new inspiring survival hunter with the new talents, there’s a talent called Outland Venom this makes all damage over time effects increase your critical strike damage by 2% per dot. If you go into that with the focus of stacking crit as your main stat as well as go into pack leader for the extra bleed and steel trap for the extra dot you’ll be looking for BIG damage windows when all your dots and bleeds are on a target. This mostly is optimal for single target boss fights not m+. In mythic+ you have to use sentinel it does too much damage and then you focus on bombs! Happy hunting 💪🏼
The BM changes remind me of that awesome Zoo Build from Legion. That was my favorite BM build. I like the idea that I'm just tossing animals at my target.
I recently had the stupid idea of swapping the Vicious Hunt / Pack Coordination stuff from Pack Leader with the Dire Beast stuff from BM. Nice windows of oppurtunity for big Vicious Hunts and extra Pet Basics on the side of BM. For PL, Huntmaster's Call sounds like a sick capstone. I also gave Pack Leader access to Stomp (Surv triggers it every 2 Tip of the Spear consumptions and knowing Stomp as BM adds every 2 Multi-Shots as another trigger for Stomp).

Not sure why they want to make the hardest spec in the game harder by giving it button bloat but I'll try and remain optimistic! Absolutely amazing to see you back on hunter because its my favourite spec in the game, I really enjoying challenging myself which is why I'm drawn to BM! TWW hype! TWW hype! TWW hype!
I mean I get the sarcasm and there’s definitely a damage vs effort problem, but not every spec in the game should require you to be a concert pianist. Or need 12 weak auras to track everything you’re doing. So having some lower effort specs is absolutely good for the game.
MM has been begging for baseline lust and instant cast aimed shot forever, the fact we still don't have it shows Blizzard just doesn't listen and wants you to only play BM
They need to make a talent that does what the legendary did in legion. Makes every other AS castable while moving. I have no idea why they haven’t implemented this somehow. It’s not too powerful but solves the issue.

Survival hunters been crying for tier set fixes for weeks. Blizz has obviously been focused on this rework instead and I 100% believe that was the right choice. Why? Because I’ve never played Hunter. And buffing their tier set for the throw away season 4 would do nothing to change that. But now I’m going to go level a Hunter because this rework looks so good.
100% i stopped maining my hunter in MoP. but after the changes I'm gonna lvl a new one on remix and probably play survival when im not tanking in raid and M+
Please dont roll hunter. I play hunter and dont want many people playing so i will always get priority in groups. If im one of the only hunters then i will always get choosen. Thanks

this is such a cringe take they literally said "hey guys vote for whats cool dont worry about tuning we will balance them" and then proceeded to not balance the tier sets for surv or bdk for weeks. It also would have literally taken 3 minutes to change the value to buff it by 20% or whatever.

@VesperalTV I totally agree most of things what you wish for (I dont think there will be more changes tho, Blizz hates hunters) but as long as we dont have pet independent bloodlust (being the only class punished for BL is a joke) AND as long as we still have literally zero utility hunter will be a meme class for m+, only get invites for pugs if its top dps (i mean literally, cause the other classes have utility too...).
This is the most significant rework since legion for BM and SV. BM will still play close to the same but better. SV Hunter is gonna be meta for sure. All assuming they fix the Hero talents next.

another annoying thing about wailing arrow is it a slow cast that we have to cast in our Trueshot/burst window so if we spec into it we will be srcewed in our burst too. the talent under readiness that gives us a wailing arrow when we activate Trueshot is also general bad like do we want to start our burst with a slow wailing arrow? if blizz want us to spec into wailing arrow plz give it some syngergy with trueshot like give it same cast speed as aimed shot n rapid fire get would be an ez fix
I still believe that BM should be melee with tons of animals, like Rexxar while survival is a mix of range damage, pet wolf, traps, rockets, bombs etc kind of playstyle.

WAIT to gives my main some love :) BM/SV for life! one thing you didn't mention, SV got their mastery completely reworked, making them do more damage and take less damage when around the pet (which "should" be most of time, with a grace period of "i think" 10s if your move away from your pet that is needed to maintain the buff!) Just want to point out something everyone seems to be missing regarding Huntmaster's Call. Even when you get the bleed and haste proc it might be getting the Basilisk Collar 10% damage bonus since the bleed is another dot. Need to test though.
@@Katesuo I tested it and it does not give you a stack of Basilisk Collar. Steel Trap also does not give a stack. The extra bleed from Kill Shot on Pack Leader tree does not give a stack. So Far for Pack Leader. Barbed Shot, Lacerate, Murder of Crows, Serpent Sting (if you spec into it) Bloodthirst each give a stack. Very hit or miss given the wording on the tooltip.
I was really, really hoping you'd do a video. I was looking at the new talents yesterday and might go back to my hunter. Ok, I am in a meeting and just starting.
For me, the reall issue with Wailing arrow is that it DOESN'T benefit from the Aimed shot buffs and procs. It doesn't give precise shots stacks and doesn't benefit from trueshot. Another real good change that MM hunters got that you didn't mention is that precise shots now always grant 2 stacks instead of 1 or 2 stacks which really helps especially in true shot. true shot just feels better now since consuming precise shots is now not a DPS loss since it now makes you consume all the stacks with 1 cast (and thus no DPS loss).
Well think about fenrir, he applied a dot that plays off basilisk collar so now your pet is doing 10% more dmg so you get a bleed dot and 10% dmg buff sooo to me that kind of is on par with hati
why do we even have lone-wolf in mm/ why did they minimize the penalty to 5%... because it's very inconvenient to run leveling without a pet... and they know it. (maybe give us a serious shield talent, as they've done with mages. i see more and more mm hunters with pets! black arrow used to provide a temp pet, that made petless mm work, for me... but they eliminated that option!
While I'm happy that Marksman gets a nice buff for M+, I'm kind of bummed that MM gets no armor pen ability or passive to spice up Single Target just that little bit outside of True Shot so Explosive Shot isn't such an obvious choice.
They should make Huntmaster's Call trigger be if you use cobra shot then Dire Beast you get Fenryr for single target , if you use Multishot then Dire Beast you get Hati for AOE
Explosive shot and trap should be marksman only. And If survival needs to use a shot attack, just change it back to range dps. Or just change explosive shot to explosive grenade, then every spec fits.
I'm not against what your saying just wanna point out the explosive grenade thing would be pointless cause we already have fire bomb. I agree with you though.
The MM lust problem can be easily solved. Give lust baseline to all specs and make a new active for ferocity pets OR make Dismiss Pet instant after using lust
I tested SV a bit yesterday and the focus generation is too high imo. With all the bombs and ES resets I rarely press any spenders. With FS dmg increasing with a Tip of the Spear stack, that generates focus, makes you press KC to get a stack and then FS just to dump the TotS stack just to generate more focus. And the spec isn’t starving of focus to begin with with all the KC talents. I found myself almost never pressing MB with all the bombs and ES resets, making MB almost not worth the extra talent points to take the spell and improve it further. Maybe taking the talent points to put somewhere else to get Fury of the Eagle as an additional CDR to bombs and burst🤷♂️ I am positive about the change blizz made, but some things they implemented I am not sure about.
@@VesperalTV I guess Blizz was paying attention to feedback and adjusted the playstyle. I feel the spec plays better now. my only feedback would be the increase on focus cost of WB. I think it is overkill and now tipped the focus management in the opposite direction, given that Flanking Strike now also costs focus.
I still wish they would let us choose our pets spec again. Everybody is playing Ferocity, except from perhaps very niche solo specific things. SO many pets, looking all cute and never getting tamed. FREE THE PETS Blizzard!
I like explosive knocking back as a good thing. It makes druids better. Little team com required, but Druid can drop (don’t know ability name while laying in bed… but it keeps them sitting in an area.) I use it as guardian with tsunami and it’s AOE stop… why not 5 seconds of double AOE stop? Keep VDH down and hunter/Druid up
Getting rid of brutal companion would be super troll. Considering Pack leader has a couple talents that revolve around special attacks. So getting rid of that is a no no
idk, I preferred BM where one pet becomes an absolute unit and feels like a real companion. BM now spawns an army of pets and diminishes that fantasy of having one true strong companion pet. Just a personal preference though, BM gameplay is very fun. I can see the number of mini cooldowns that all 3 specs have getting slightly annoying depending on how busy the rotations are though. As for MM, still getting punished in order to provide lust like the 2 other specs do is plain stupid. What other class does this? The Wailing Arrow absolutely needs to have its main target damage buffed and the cast speed adjusted to where Aimed Shot is. If not, just remove the ability entirely and move on from trying to make it useable. It already wasn't seeing use (the main gimmick being it AoE silences but we can't utilize that realistically in this form). MM is by far my favorite spec gameplay wise but suffers from BM outshining it in terms of usefulness almost always.
I literally made a hunter yesterday bc of your gameplay videos got it from gold boosted to 494 now i can't wait for TWW it's gonna be my main dps they went hard for the hunters !
WOuld you not want Fenryr all the time, and not Hati? Yes, 15% damage increase from pets is nice and dandy, but fenryr does not ONLY apply a big dot and give you 10% haste, it also should trigger basilisk collar, which is the same effect, just 5% less. and I think those 5 % are well under 10% haste and the dot. The duration seems to be the same, 8 second dot, 8 second dire beast activity, so there is no difference. am I missing something?
For the Lone Wolf Talent, keep in mind there is another bonus on the general Hunter tree where u get more Haste aswell when u dont have a pet on your side (is also available as Surv)

i am happy with the MM hunter, BM and survival are the great winners (specially Surv) but at least MM feels nice, they fixxed some problems, we feel more tanky but man... i would like more skills, i would like Wailling arrow to be a whole diferent skill to time it with some big pulls and be usefull for the party. Also, i honestly hope they change the god damn hero talents, those for hunters are just lame bunch of passives
I had completely abandoned Hunter midway through DF, because of their low survivability. Now I'm back at picking it up again hehe. 🙂 I'd hate if the Explosive Trap was changed to a knock-up though, so an extra talent to change it as an option, would be better. Otherwise us WPvPers would loose our favourite WPvP spell, for killing people with fall damage. 😅 Same for BGs that has fall damage kills incorporated. Also, Roar of Sacrifice, I'd hate it being changed since us PvPers use it as a important talent. Maybe give it a "toggle option", to give it a better PvE version. 🤔 Win/Win
Binding shot is still useless mate. If you need someone to cast upheaval n to trigger it then it did nothing. The upheaval would have stopped the casts alone. On the other hand, bursting shot is very good. There's no way you're taking scatter shot over it in M+. Bursting shot is basically exactly the same as blast wave, a true AOE stop on a 30 second CD. As for MM I'm not totally sold on the changes. We still need to spend too many talent points to pick up the AOE kit. The best changes for MM are in the sentinel tree rather than the spec tree. (most the uncapped AOE from lunar storm and the 10% shield which is going to be always at full charge in AOE).
"lovely new animation" - proceeds to block the view of the character when using it.... "a 30% dmg reduction with 2 charges nad a long Cd, this is massive! so good" - "it's only a permanent 10% dmg reduction, no big deal, doesn't matter much."
For lone wolf. Please let hunters use pet abilities without a pet. It was a thing. Why you removed it. The whole shtick of marksman is that you do not have to deal with a pet.

Your pet no longer attacks your enemy, but buffs your damage by 5%.
Call it "Animal Training" or something else...
My only complaint for survival... Viper's Venom animation of serpent sting shot is breaking every single cast of mongoose bite animation.

I think Steel Trap should either be baseline for Survival or a talent, and Explosive Trap should be a choice mode between knocking up or knocking back

@@VesperalTV I guess Blizz was paying attention to feedback and adjusted the playstyle. I feel the spec plays better now. my only feedback would be the increase on focus cost of WB. I think it is overkill and now tipped the focus management in the opposite direction, given that Flanking Strike now also costs focus.
I still wish they would let us choose our pets spec again. Everybody is playing Ferocity, except from perhaps very niche solo specific things. SO many pets, looking all cute and never getting tamed. FREE THE PETS Blizzard!
I like explosive knocking back as a good thing. It makes druids better. Little team com required, but Druid can drop (don’t know ability name while laying in bed… but it keeps them sitting in an area.) I use it as guardian with tsunami and it’s AOE stop… why not 5 seconds of double AOE stop? Keep VDH down and hunter/Druid up

you forgot the biggest changes for survival, the double dip synergy with mastery and versatility both increasing damage and. reducing damage taken
The damage reduction is part of the specs mastery, but the value of it is fixed. Only the damage part actually scales with mastery rating.

Getting rid of brutal companion would be super troll. Considering Pack leader has a couple talents that revolve around special attacks. So getting rid of that is a no no
With how good bm hunter scales with haste, fenryr is going to be probably as equal.

idk, I preferred BM where one pet becomes an absolute unit and feels like a real companion. BM now spawns an army of pets and diminishes that fantasy of having one true strong companion pet. Just a personal preference though, BM gameplay is very fun. I can see the number of mini cooldowns that all 3 specs have getting slightly annoying depending on how busy the rotations are though.
As for MM, still getting punished in order to provide lust like the 2 other specs do is plain stupid. What other class does this? The Wailing Arrow absolutely needs to have its main target damage buffed and the cast speed adjusted to where Aimed Shot is. If not, just remove the ability entirely and move on from trying to make it useable. It already wasn't seeing use (the main gimmick being it AoE silences but we can't utilize that realistically in this form). MM is by far my favorite spec gameplay wise but suffers from BM outshining it in terms of usefulness almost always.

WOuld you not want Fenryr all the time, and not Hati? Yes, 15% damage increase from pets is nice and dandy, but fenryr does not ONLY apply a big dot and give you 10% haste, it also should trigger basilisk collar, which is the same effect, just 5% less. and I think those 5 % are well under 10% haste and the dot. The duration seems to be the same, 8 second dot, 8 second dire beast activity, so there is no difference. am I missing something?
For the Lone Wolf Talent, keep in mind there is another bonus on the general Hunter tree where u get more Haste aswell when u dont have a pet on your side (is also available as Surv)

They should make the AoE CC a pet ability, like tail sweep or something for dinos.

i am happy with the MM hunter, BM and survival are the great winners (specially Surv) but at least MM feels nice, they fixxed some problems, we feel more tanky but man... i would like more skills, i would like Wailling arrow to be a whole diferent skill to time it with some big pulls and be usefull for the party.
Also, i honestly hope they change the god damn hero talents, those for hunters are just lame bunch of passives
I had completely abandoned Hunter midway through DF, because of their low survivability. Now I'm back at picking it up again hehe. 🙂
I'd hate if the Explosive Trap was changed to a knock-up though, so an extra talent to change it as an option, would be better. Otherwise us WPvPers would loose our favourite WPvP spell, for killing people with fall damage. 😅 Same for BGs that has fall damage kills incorporated.
Also, Roar of Sacrifice, I'd hate it being changed since us PvPers use it as a important talent. Maybe give it a "toggle option", to give it a better PvE version. 🤔 Win/Win

Binding shot is still useless mate. If you need someone to cast upheaval n to trigger it then it did nothing. The upheaval would have stopped the casts alone.
On the other hand, bursting shot is very good. There's no way you're taking scatter shot over it in M+. Bursting shot is basically exactly the same as blast wave, a true AOE stop on a 30 second CD.
As for MM I'm not totally sold on the changes. We still need to spend too many talent points to pick up the AOE kit. The best changes for MM are in the sentinel tree rather than the spec tree. (most the uncapped AOE from lunar storm and the 10% shield which is going to be always at full charge in AOE).
surv being DOT focused was better IMO melting people with poison,bleed and bombs was so fun
