- I've had a colored history with BEACN, but they've really got something special this time around. This is my BEACN Studio Review - an audio interface that does things most interfaces could only dream of. But it comes at a cost.

Just FYI this entire video was recorded with my AC blasting, both because we're in a heat wave and to demo the noise removal.
Does this work with Mac?
@@J-J-S-M they are working on the Mac version, he stated in the video towards the end
@@barneyjack I missd that my bad
You posted, some of this clips to the hub right? 😂
As innovative as this is, I can't recommend anyone buy a Beacn product. I own both the mic and mix create, and the lack of updates and transparency when it comes to the development lifecycle, plus numerous issues that myself and many others have had for months that don't get fixed made me stop using the mix completely
Agree 100%. I was excited for the Beacn Mix Create, I pre-ordered it. The software was so buggy it became an expensive paperweight. It crashed my PC every other day making streaming impossible. Got a Roland Bridgecast X and never been happier.
A reviewer found a noise gate situation with the studio and then beacn tried to gaslight and lie to them. I will not buy anything from them
I've had the Beacn Mic and Mix Create pretty much since they came out. I haven't had any problems. YMMV.
Have the Beacn Mix Create from the start. There were some issues but they are all gone with updates. Now it works flowless.
Glad to see you have a relationship with Beacn again. Kickedtripod not being an employee there anymore probably helps.
How would you say it's audio processing compares to Rode Caster (II/Duo)?
Ik you have said in the past that you preferred Rode's processing over GoXLR's, so I am curious where this ranks!
PM1 spotted
I’m curious about this as well.
curious about this as well
I just love hearing your reviews with my headphones on. Very satisfying.
Behringer Flow 8 pre amps are really good considering price range, does everything needed+it's mixer standalone with bluetooth.
Would love this thing if it had 1/4" bal/unbal inputs as well. I do a lot of guitar work with virtual amps as well as keyboard work and having a 1/4" input is vital. Especially at this price point. Who puts a balanced mic input only on a device these days. Even my Audiobox GO has TRS/Mic inputs on it.
Really great to see this come back around and I'm glad to see the Beacn Studio has turned out to be a great product. Fantastic review, looking forward to checking it out for myself.
when i saw the title in my feed..I had to make sure I wasn't going crazy. lol
It's so close to greatness. Not having physical sliders or at least an integration with stream deck is sadly a deal breaker for me.
Really wish something like this would have a low-latency digital or balanced output so I could pull it into my RME gear. 32-bit float would be so nice to have.
Would you be willing to make a video tutorial using voicemeeter and the virtual audio cables with OBS? I want to be able to change the volume for me but keep the stream audio consistent.
So good to hear that you still can be mad about some things with other people, because at the time they took it personally, and get back to the tracks together. Nowadays is so hard, everyone is so like, me me me, that they forget we share the same planet to live XD. Anyways, as usual, amazing video, love that you all left behind the old problems
Having only 1 mic input is very limiting. Making it only useful for videogame streamers. I'd love it if it had 2 or 4 xlr and quarter inch trs instrument input with a speaker output in addition to the headphone monitor. Something like that with a digital gain control knob for every input to avoid crackling pots would be perfect.
In its current state this isn't much more useful than izotope + reaper in OBS with voicemeter and as a plus you also get to keep a clean version of your recording.
Basically I want a normal interface with hardware effects and routing.
I have a window AC in my Stream Shed and this would be so helpful!
Funny that you mention WVOX. That was the local AM station in New Rochelle, NY for decades until it was sold in 2023. All local programming stopped cold, including the show I was on every week. Moved to podcast.
@eposvox How is the audio latency when hearing yourself overall? Also, how is the latency when you have your headphones plugged into a separate headphone amp
I am super excited to get this and use it in place of my Rodecaster Duo personally, when its available. I miss my dual channel audio personally. I did order their new mic stand today.
Wondering why you don't just use a behringer x32 back mixer In your studio ? With whichever midi or companion or glue controller to physically hardware control it
would there be a way to use this mixer on the stream deck plus?
Does the mixing suite have Stream Deck support ?
Can we trust Beacn again lol
I’m really tempted for this. I want to replace my mixer but then I don’t know what to do for zero latency console audio as a separate device
I'd love to try this out, so far I haven't been able to find anything with better processing (at least to my ears) than the GOXLR but this one seems so promising.
How would this compare to the Wave Link software?
Does it work on Linux though?
Edit: An add-in Mixer could be achieved with the ADAT Standard. Just an optical connection, all these inputs and outputs added + button and fader handling via software.
Edit2: @20:22 currently supports only Windows :(
I would like to see a beacn condenser mic as a next product, followed by what I will describe as a beacn mix create studio deck. The ultimate creator device.
Think a beacn mix create with a slightly larger screen, change the screen for a TOUCH screen to control beacn suite on-device as an alternative to on PC screen, PLUS beacn deck/stream deck+ button functionality.
built in the beacn studio hardware, add a balanced headphone out with xlr-1/4 inch combo out, mabey a 4.4mm pentacon as well as a 3.5mm out on the front, 2x xlr-1/4 inch combo inputs on the rear, and if you wanna get spicy consider an optional external expansion unit that can add however many additional xlr/USB inputs.
I would buy that device in a heartbeat if they could sell it for a comparable price to stream deck+ and rodecsster duo combined.
I want a compact, powerful, customizable, simplistic all in one device that can take care of all my audio and stream deck functions.
And I think if beacn made that device they would wipe elgato, goxlr, loupedeck, and all small to medium audio interface manufacturers from the streamer and creator market overnight.
Finally a solid review, may actually get this.
The noise suppression bug has been a bug since day 1 and they've not fixed it. It's working, but the UI itself is bugged.
The only reason I haven't dumped my Yamaha AG06 for any of these new interfaces is because I really want to be able to mix in that offboard device, game console, or whatever. I just want that 1 more line in.
Is there Mac support for this? I thought I head you say you were using it on a Mac but I didnt see that it has Mac Support. Maybe I just misunderstood what you meant tho!
I said it doesn’t currently but will be coming very soon, according to BEACN
Hey Addie! I have a very weirdly specific question for you. I got the GO-XLR for a variety of reasons, one of which were the various real-time voice effects, pitch/gender shifting, echo/reverb, etc. Does the BEACN Studio have an analog to this?
edit: Just finished watching the video, looks like it doesn't, which is too bad. I know it's a pretty niche thing to want to have. Ah well, the GO-XLR is still holding up just fine I suppose. :)
Really interested in this device with the routing and the onboard processing, how easy is it to send the audio to the ElGato Wave Link/Stream Deck+ for level control
awww cute kitteh!
This seems pretty slick, and pretty much perfect for my use case. Interested in how it compares to the Eglato Wave XLR, as they seem pretty similar.
I’ve had a fair few issues with my Wave XLR so might actually consider switching to this once it’s available
Just when I thought I was starting to figure out the io24 :P
i use the same and i'n debating if i want this too. LOL
@@MunroB0T I also have Audient, Macky, Focusrite, Audio Technia, and Native Instructions interfaces in my list of things I've tinkered with. I mean, I can't stop now right? 🤣
@@isocuda I guess not at that point lol. You sound like me with headphone amps and headphones/IEMs . Cant control myself there.
Awesome review as always. I wish (this will probably never happen) one of these companies would make an audio interface similar to some Behringer ones, where the control software is a web interface, so that we could control the EQ/Compression, etc while using Linux, since there isn't control Software for these devices under Linux.
So to clarify for myself we can send mic audio out to both game and streaming pc with no latency with this??
does beacn have asio drivers for audio production? also what about loopback so I can stream what I hear in my daw.
if this just had optical in & maybe 2 3.5mm audio in it would be perfect for me
Becan do look like a fantastic option and packed full of great ideas that I love! But a mic and audio control is allmost €450 where I got a wave 3 and steam deak for mobile for under €130! It’s grand and works fine but feel it’s harder for entry level ppl to justify it and to expensive for the next level up ( sure sm7 ) for example! Thoughts?
For streaming and such this might be great... it falls well short of what I or anybody I know needs.
This program would be sweet to use with any interface, but I assume it's exclusive for Beacn interfaces...?
This might actually be worth updating from my GoXLR mini. The software for the mini was recently updated and works just fine, but it still feels dated and the size of the BEACN studio would fit much better on my desk.
$250 is pretty steep for this device though.
I would consider getting this instead of my current plans if only it had a dedicated line out for pushing the (already processed) microphone signal to another mixer and audio interface I already have. I'm not going to pay $250 for a device like this just to end up using the headphone jack for production.
Awesome overview/review of the possibilities.
So can you only have a PS5 or second PC plugged in at a time, not both?
If I switch from PC to PS5, will it maintain settings going back and forth?
If so, does it make the most sense to have Stream PC as main app and companion on a game PC?
Yes you’d want the main output running on stream pc, then just swap usb between gaming pc and ps5
I have a duel pc setup with speakers & consoles, originally started with 1 GoXLR, then 2 GoXLR with DBX 286s, to Rodecaster Duo & now Duo with Elgato Steam Deck Plus for the control. Still in search of a minimalistic devices or even two devices that are smaller that can take everything. Forgot to mention the sound blaster that all that audio goes to & then to my Beyerdynamic headphones
Would love to know more about your setup.
This looks like a really nice device, but imo it's simply too expensive - just like the goxlr before it. the sweet spot for something like this is maybe $129. if they want to charge me $250, they need to give me a physical interface (either a touch screen or some robotic sliders). I guess, like most of this stuff, I just need to give it some time. note, specifically, I don't think this is a bad product by ANY means, I just think it's overpriced right now, upon it's initial release... if this comes down in price next year in the sub $200 range, I think it could be a really good buy.
It always throws me off seeing you use a shotgun mic in a dynamic mic's position. Also very off topic, have you heard of the band Dreamwake? They love the crt aesthetic like yourself and are a metalcore band so I thought it would be a band you would like. Also nice video!
W Intro
How does this compare to Roland Bridge Cast X if anyone has used it.
Hi EposVox, as usual great video. I have question/request that I kept to myself for a loooooong loooooong time... Every tutorial or guide for setting up and EQ'ing audio everyone has good low voices or it is for female voices. Can you please do a video showing how to do a proper EQ for a nasally voice from both genders? I have recorded 2 vocals for my friends and am struggling to EQ them...
Thank you in advance.
Dude it's hilarious that you were dismissive about the delineation of the broadcast range because when you dropped it, in my opinion(& on my Audeze Maxwells), you sounded exactly like you were on Howard Stern's show. Doesn't his mic tune sound the same??
Interesting….. 🤔
Good 2PC interface in good(ish) price?
Is the Presonus Revelator io44 still good?
13:02 Howard Stern mode
You want me to ditch my Rodecaster Pro II?
Yeah I’ll take it
@@EposVox Addie, you already have a room full of toys
no linux support = no option
can't stab myself back to the slavery... just my perspective. you do you :)
theres no way their little program runs under Linux
Perfect device is UAD Apollo.. Look to the music world.
can i just use the software for free without any of their product?
no? it's all processing in-hardware anyway lol
why am i subscribed to this channel? never heard of you

The beach mix create, I just gave it another chance l… it BREAKS MY AUDIO DRIVERS when my pc comes out of sleep. E waste still years later $200 an they still sell the same garbage why trust this company?
Will they offer a trade in of the mix create if it fix
nah my setup is good
man i hate beacn, the amount of times that stupid trash device doesn't even boot up and requires things to be done. I gifted one to my gf at the beginning of her streaming carreer and it was an absolute curse and it seemed the company didnt want to take responsibility for their missfunctioning product forever. And now again you present us with a beacn product that has issues and bugs from the getgo.
That thing looks so cheap for the price and the style looks like a little purse haha
Ain’t nothin wrong with a little audio purse
@@EposVox I I'm q bit lost cause I remember you got rid of the beacn set up the you had cause it was driving you nuts.why the change now.and I got rid of mines cause tbh for me the only thing the beacn has really good it's the software that's about it
@Eldon.308 I had driver issues w/ the Mix Create and I hated the tuning of the mic
This is a separate device, with which I've not had driver issues and the mic tuning complaint is irrelevant to.
@@EposVox if I know you from your videos I'm pretty sure the you gonna be using that thing as a paperweight haha
I have a duo and mix create and it works greater but the way beacn pre bakes everything onto there hardware noise gates and stuff it's bs and horrible..thats why I nevwr got he mic and now this..its kinda funny u had the same issues with mic u magically don't have with tnis...wiwrd..maybe u need cash idk but recommending this is a hazard
??? My issues with the mic were the hardware tuning of the capsule’s sound. That has no relevance to an audio interface where I can use any mic with any tuning. I even explained this in the video. Listen and use some thinking before making accusations.
Garbage
Imma throw my Neumann MT 48 and Universal Audio Apollo x6 outta the window now!
good it was wasted on u

3. What @Fau1ted said.
That's a product designed exclusive for Windows, I only use products that don't need a separated software in order to work
1. They support Mac as well. 2. Software is the future.
@@koenignero No, software depending hardware is bad, look what happened to the TC Helicon GoXLR, nice device software based features and they stopped giving support to it. I use a Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 and it works really well on any, ANY platform, because is software independent
@@koenignero mac is meh
Been a minuite since I saw an Eposvox vid, the long hair long so good
Haha thanks
the only good thing compared to wavexlr is that it has a second usb which allows much easier dual pc audio for obs alerts and splitting music from the rest. it sucks cuz it's all built in and you don't have vst plugins. you can regularly get wave xlr for 100 and a capture card is going to be 100 so you get capture card + audio interface and baldurs gate on steam
i would tend to suggest wave 3 to anyone looking to get started as a best overall package
Man Xbox audio sucks. My biggest pet peeve with them is
Imagine pretending like beacon had a chance 😂😂😂😂 stop ✋️ it's obvious your are playing to a brand sponsor. 😢😢😢 nope horrible product and obvious just looking at it
“It’s obvious you are playing to a brand sponsor”
I spent most of 2022 in a massive fight with BEACN very publicly and messily disagreeing with their mic tuning and PR rep. I can assure you, a sponsorship was never in the cards from either side here. You are clueless.
I stream with my Mac and Ecamm and Game on my PC. I think this may fix my audio routing issues once it has Mac support.
I saw your last Video about beacn mic and the issues with it and the lack of transparency with their detailed hardware specs
I’m just curious if you have changed your mind about the company? and if yes, what led to you changing your mind about the company?
No speaker output at $250 is a deal breaker for me.... why? Only headphone out?
RT channel heavy? 🤔🤔
19:05 and this is where your title fails, i'd never ditch my GoXLR for this, and i'm not paying for an extra device as good as this is...
Almost as if no title is ever universally applicable
Does the volumes in mixer affect the volume of audio sent through route or only what's going out the audience mix?
WaveLink adjusting volume in the mixer only affects volume of that source being sent through stream mix. The volune in OBS for the routed source is controlled by OBS.
Steelseries Sonar when adjusting volume of something in the mixer it also causes the audio inside the route to change instead of adjusting the source in OBS.
What do you mean you can't use Elgato with OBS? I've been using it for a while. Am I not understanding something?
The Elgato EQ VST filter only comes in a VST 3 version, which is currently not compatible with OBS.
@@EposVox It's odd then because I was using Microphone FX directly into OBS and it worked just fine even with filters enabled.
If they make it MAC they'll be laughing all the way to the bank...
It might just be because you've used a different mic, but your breathing while explaining the EQ is very irritating to me.
Either it's due to ht mic used, due to the post processing, or because the gate falls off slower than other gates (like the presonus revelator stuff).
Would be nice to know if that is the limitation of the gate or if that was unnoticed by you (which I highly doubt).
I've gotten used to just sending my game audio to my second PC via HDMI and then just listening to it through windows sound settings but this is what I would've gone for if I was a 0 experience user and wouldn't want to deal with any issues.
Bass enhance is probably just a dynamic EQ. You can do that with, for example, Fabfilter's Pro-Q 3. It's like a combo compressor/expander/EQ with the main benefit being that it can maintain a more consistent level of (in this case) bass regardless of the input bass level. You could also use that to help compensate for proximity effect in the event that you move a lot.
I don't quite understand the idea of the virtual mixer having an audience mix output. You'd normally use this to send to OBS, but OBS already has a mixer and that mixer has more flexibility for sidechain ducking and such, so I'd rather adjust the audience mix in OBS. All I really want is a) a bunch of zero latency virtual outputs that can be individually captured in OBS and b) the ability to mix those virtual outputs for my own headphone mix. I can already do this with my Audient iD 14, which has 3 total pairs of outputs that I can monitor with no latency. If it had maybe 2 more pairs, there'd be no need for these "streamer-focused" devices.
Is there a good work around for the lack of speaker output on the Beacn and WaveXLR?
It seems like an interesting device, I would need to check if there is an API/SDK for this now (it was missing when they initially launched their first products). Could be fun to make an plugin for the StreamDeck, Loupedeck etc.
As somebody who is not a content creator I am still waiting for one of these devices to have an optical in port like the goxlr had. Having that port would make it so much easier to get my audio from my consoles or another pc all into one setup. I know this can be done with line in but this has other issues like crazy static which even a ground loop isolator doesn't fix.
nooo I just bought me a SC1
I need that box but with about 5 or 6 faders too (GoXLR style faders but with more of em) and that would be my perfect setup, main downside of the GoXLR for me was i couldnt control all the channels it added, everythings just dials these days and im not a fan.
Lack of a speaker out is a dissapointing deal breaker as i use speakers far more than headphones
So basically this comboed with the mix create would be perfect as a one dvice not both seperate but could work
Today I learned 1) a lot of my favorite musicians need to seriously tweak their de-esser 2) what a de-esser is/does
Better is to record that a de-esser is not needed
Fu** no, i will keep my Arturia MiniFuse 2. Your supports only one input (MiniFuse 2 has 2) and it is even that stupid 3 pin, it is more expensive, has only one control knob ? Why should i buy less for more money ??? It does has nice software but it is Windows only.
Having no output for speakers just killed it for me even though, it's an amazing product!
What I'd love to see is that interfaces or mixers, especially with USB-C can send the signal digitally to another interface. It'd be really cool if there were such a standard for devices. You could "daisy chain" multiple devices while also keeping the prices relatively small.
Audio hardware processing shouldn't be too expensive anymore, I guess. So having one device that basically does the routing and having multiple devices like mixers or "real" interfaces feeding that device with their digital signals would be cool.
If it makes sense: It'd be analogous to networking. Having one router doing the job and "switches" (in that case secondary devices) interfacing with the your devices. However, since it'd be a standard signal/protocol, a router can have beautiful software to control each device. Of course, it'd add latency but I feel like if chaining devices already then this wouldn't necessarily make it any more worse.
I skip condenser microphones in the house, as they required a sound-proof booth because they pickup everything. Shure PGA-48 is my choice, as it is tuned for voice pick-up, unlike SM7B which is flat wide-range.
Lewitt made the Lewitt 240 with a smaller Condenser Capsule to avoid picking up too much room noise. The Elgato Wave 3 is handling room noise very well. It's condenser as well.
